Cristelle thought for a while and still nodded in the end. As doubtful as she was, she still decided to trust Jasper. Jasper had always been a smart and prudent person. Surely he wouldn’t make stupid mistakes.
Cristelle cleared her throat and managed to smile at the man sitting across the table, “It sounds perfect. I’ll get the new design prepared soon. Thanks for finding great resources for our studio, Jasper. I really wouldn’t know what to do if I didn’t have you,” Cristelle was genuinely grateful.
Jasper smiled at her warmly, “Please don’t say that. You’re the designer, and you’re doing the main job. I’m just doing whatever I can to help.”
Jasper knew he should leave here soon, but he still couldn’t help lowering his gaze, checking out his watch.
He was trying hard not to smile because he knew those stupid people were gonna get the girl soon.
His wish would be fulfilled soon. And he didn’t even lift a finger.

Meanwhile, a doctor was walking down the corridor, heading directly for Candace’s ward. A mask covered his face, and he was pushing a trolley. The bodyguard didn’t even bat an eye as the doctor pushed the door and walked in.
Cristelle told them to be careful with strangers, but doctors were there to take care of the girl.
At this moment, when the doctor approached Candace’s bed, she was still in a deep sleep. The doctor released an evil smile behind his mask, reaching for the girl’s plastered leg.
The person who hired him asked him to cripple the girl entirely. She wanted the girl to lose her ability to walk.
Before he could do it, however, the door of the ward was pushed open. Franco, Mr. Weston, Peter, and Tanya walked in.
“What are you doing?” Peter yelled as he noticed the doctor was a bit weird. But the doctor was determined to finish his mission. He grabbed Candace’s leg and was gonna snap it.
Franco charged forward and punched his face. Pop was too old right now, but he had been a soldier when he was young, after all. The doctor yelled in pain and lurched backward, letting go of the girl’s leg.
And then, he suddenly jumped up on his feet and pushed Franco away. Franco collapsed on the floor. Mr. Weston went forward to protect his old friend instantly.
The doctor charged toward Tanya the next second, hands clasping around her neck, “Get the fuck off, or I’ll kill this old bitch!”
“Ahhh!!” Tanya screamed. The nose of the doctor was still bleeding. The blood got on her new dress. It was both disgusting and terrifying.
“Wha-what do you want?!” Tanya was so scared that she couldn’t even move.
Candace had woken up at this point. When she opened her eyes, Mr. Weston’s face was the first thing she saw, “You’re awake, sweet girl. Let’s play a game. Let’s find out who can close her eyes for the longest time. If you win, I’ll buy you new pens.”
Candace was just a little girl, but she was quite sharp. The blood in the air was too easy to smell. It awoke the fear hidden in her memories. Candace was so terrified by that smell that she hid half of her face under the blanket, her forehead covered in a cold sweat.
Where was Mommy?
She missed Mommy so much.
But she couldn’t even make a sound.
“Get me a fucking car right now, and don’t you dare call the police. If any of you call the police, I’ll throw this bitch off the building!” The man acted like a crazy animal.
“Okay! Fine! My car is downstairs right now. We’ll do whatever you want, just don’t hurt her.” Peter didn’t hesitate as he threw his car keys at the man.
Mr. Weston and Franco exchanged a look. They knew there was nothing they could do right now. The baby was still in her bed. If they started a fight here, Candace would probably get hurt.
The man dragged Tanya to the corridor. All the bodyguards Linford hired to keep Candace safe also didn’t dare to get close. Mrs. Bradley was the hostage right now. They didn’t dare to piss the man off.
“Go away! Get the fuck away!” The man took Tanya to the elevator, pressing the button instantly, “If you dare to play any tricks, I’ll snap this bitch’s neck.”
Tanya didn’t even dare to make a sound at this point. Pop probably wouldn’t save her right now. Tanya shuddered, thinking about that. But Peter was still there. He would definitely find a way to save her. Tanya forced herself to calm down.
Peter gave her an eye, his voice carried calmly and clearly across the corridor, “Guys, stay away. Let him leave.”
His one hand gestured at the leader of the bodyguards behind his back.
The leader got Peter’s meaning and cast a look at the elevator. He sneaked into a room and informed the security department of the hospital, warning them to clear the elevator just in case the kidnapper would hurt anyone.
“Why is it so loud outside?” Cristelle heard the noise in the corridor from her room, standing up from her chair. Right now, she wanted to check with Candace.
Jasper guessed what had happened, suppressing a smile as he said, “Well, I still need to make sure of a couple of details back at the studio. I must go back now. You go back and take care of Candace. Don’t forget to tell her Uncle Jasper said hi.”
Cristelle was a bit anxious, “Of course. Let’s leave the room.”
The other elevator on the floor was right out of the restroom. Jasper said bye and got in the elevator.
Cristelle’s heart was in her throat when she saw the crowd outside of Candace’s ward.
No!!!
It couldn’t be Candace.
It couldn’t be!
Cristelle pushed her way through the crowd and saw a man grasping Tanya’s neck from the back, his eyes bloodshot and threatening.
Was Tanya here?
What happened to Candace?
Cristelle’s heart lurched, and her knees buckled, collapsing against the floor. The crowd separated and cleared the way, giving Cristelle room to breathe.
Peter and the bodyguards exchanged a look, but none of them walked forth. They didn’t want to shift the attacker’s attention onto Cristelle at the moment like this.
