“So, there is no solid evidence to prove it was Ruby?” Linford asked.
Drew shrugged.
“Believe it or not. This is everything I know,” Giselle looked like she was gonna faint at any second.
“Linford, she doesn’t look like she was lying,” Drew frowned.
Linford gave him a pat on the shoulder, “I trust your judgment. Send her to the hospital and keep some men around her. Go to her house and dig everything out. I still think there’s more to be found.”
“Okay. Got it.”

When Linford went back to Candace’s ward, his daughter had fallen asleep. Cristelle was sitting by the bed, pinching her little cheeks while she was asleep. She thought her daughter’s cheeks were the most adorable ones in the world.
“You’re gonna wake her up,” Linford teased her gently, smiling.
Cristelle went blushed, “You don’t even make any sound when you walk? You caught that, Giselle, right? What did she say?”
Linford cast a look at the sleeping daughter. Her injured leg was fixed with plaster. It must be so uncomfortable for her. The thought made him feel sad and angry at the same time.
“I’ve caught her for a while. She said she was sent by the Wayne House to take revenge. Do you believe what she said?” Linford glanced at her, asking.
Cristelle’s eyebrows raised and she shook her head, “Mr. Wayne just passed away. They are still begging for your mercy so they could keep their position in this city. Sending someone to harm Candace is as good as suiciding. I don’t think they’re so desperate to mess up with you.”
No one would be that stupid.
“That’s right,” Linford sat beside Cristelle, “I also have the same thought. So, I’m still searching for the truth right now.”
Cristelle hummed and lowered her gaze. She still felt she was responsible for the whole thing. She should have taken care of her baby girl in the first place.
However, Linford was more guilty, “Cody was right. I failed to protect you two.”
Cristelle hurried to say, “No… I also have my faults. I should’ve taken care of her. I hope we can find the real culprit behind it soon. I really wish things like this wouldn’t happen to our poor babies again.”
“I won’t let anyone hurt you or the babies anymore,” Linford promised her.
Cristelle lowered her gaze, knowing things like that were inevitable.

When Jasper went to Diego’s house, Pamela was the one who came out to open the door. Mrs. Barnett had left the house to have afternoon tea with other rich ladies.
Pamela was left alone at home since both Mrs. Barnett and Diego hated her now. She was as better as abandoned.
“Why are you here?” Pamela’s voice was sharp and harsh the moment she saw Jasper, “I thought you were busy following Cristelle around like a little puppy.”
Jasper frowned, “I’m here to see Diego. Our studio has had some financial problems lately. We need his investment.”
“What studio?” Pamela arched an eyebrow suspiciously, “And why didn’t you go to his company if it’s a business issue.”
This woman might be annoying, but she was also alert enough.
“I went to his company yesterday, but his assistant said he was busy. I went there just now, but he was out with his clients. He said I could wait at the house,” Jasper explained, “There’s actually no big deal. It’s just that he’s a big shareholder in the studio I opened with Cristelle. There’s something I need to report to him.”
Pamela exploded when she heard Cristelle’s name, “The studio you opened with whom?”
Jasper knew this woman would act crazy as soon as she heard Cristelle. So Jasper pretended he was surprised, “Cristelle and Me. After knowing our cooperation, Diego put a lot of money into our studio. Why? You don’t know about this?”
Pamela was going crazy. But she still needed to act like it was nothing. So she pretended to be calm, “Of course, he had told me. Why wouldn’t I know?”
“Oh, we really need Diego’s help right now,” Jasper shook his head, sighing as if he was worried, “The money is short, and Cristelle’s daughter is also in the hospital. The doctor said the girl’s condition was pretty serious. Cristelle is in bits.”
Pamela’s eyebrow instantly raised, “So, that bitch’s daughter is sick? What happened to her?”
Jasper’s face changed, “The girl almost lost her right leg in an accident. By the way, I want to remind you not to act arrogantly against Cristelle before me. She’s not the same as you. I know she has made many mistakes, but I could tell she will change one day. Well, since your husband isn’t here yet, I think I should visit him the other day.” And then, he left the mansion angrily.
Would she change? She got everything by using men around her. Why was every man in love with that whore? Pamela clenched her teeth.
That little bastard of hers was losing a leg? Great!
Pamela was determined to ruin Candace’s life using this chance. She knew Cristelle would be nothing without the babies she had with Linford Bradley! And ruining her daughter would also ruin her.
Pamela generated another evil plan in her mind, not knowing Jasper had used her.

Drew didn’t make much progress searching Giselle’s house. Giselle’s place was pretty cheap, but an expensive bag caught his eye.
It looked like one of those luxurious brands. It was weird because Giselle wouldn’t probably afford something like that.
“Linford, we’ve found out that Clara bought the bag,” Drew told Linford through a phone call when he returned home. “But it’s just a bag. I don’t think it can prove our suspicion.”
“Clara must have taken Giselle as Cindy. It was pretty normal to buy a bag for your niece’s teacher so the teacher would be more responsible during the class.” Drew added.
Linford arched an eyebrow, “Drew, could you please go investigate Clara as well? Be careful while doing it, as she has a powerful background.”
“Do we have to do that?” Drew was surprised. They grew up with Clara, and Clara’s parents were both from big houses. Investigating her would be dangerous.
“I don’t care about those houses if she dares to hurt my children,” Linford ground his teeth, “Just do it. I’ll take the responsibility if anything goes wrong.”
Drew let out a sigh, “Fine. I’ll be careful.”
Linford hung up and phone and turned around. Cristelle and Candace were playing a puzzle game on the iPad. They were stuck somewhere, asking Linford for help.
Linford smiled and walked over.
