With that, she whipped around and walked away. Linford wanted to stop her, but he somehow failed to do so. He suddenly sent his fist into the wall as he heard the door of his room slammed close. Why couldn’t she understand?
When could she finally understand?
Linford’s jaw clenched, and he pressed the balls of his palms into his eyes. He felt like a mess, and he almost started his plan right away. He used all his willpower to stop himself from doing that.

When Cristelle walked out of Linford’s mansion, she happened to run into Clara.
“Cristelle?” Clara looked jealous, but she soon forced out a smile, “Um… Is Linford home? Grandpa wants to see him. But he didn’t pick up the call.”
Cristelle nodded tiredly, “He is. Just go.”
With that, she kept walking out of place.
Clara looked at her as she went away, and a cold sneer on her face popped out. And then, she fixed her hair a bit before walking into the mansion.
Linford was sitting by the table, and he didn’t have much appetite. He stared at the two breakfast plates on the table, feeling like an idiot.
He stood up and threw them into the dumpster.
Clara happened to push open the door at this very minute.
Linford frowned, “Who let you come in?”
Clara seemed hurt, murmuring, “The door is open. So…”
Linford didn’t even bother to give an extra glance, “What do you want?”
“I want to show you something,” Clara said carefully.
“Not interested,” Linford chugged down a glass of tap water, “You really should leave now, Clara.”
Clara hurried to explain, “It’s about Cristelle. You will be interested.”
Linford sat down, and his eyes were squinting, “What is it?”
Clara handed her phone to Linford, “My friend sent this to me last night. She told me Cristelle was terribly drunk, and some man tried to take advantage of her. She saw that, and she took it on her phone.”
Linford arched an eyebrow as he clicked open the video. He saw Cristelle and Jasper in it.
Cristelle was drunk, and Jasper held her up, trying to get her out of that place. Nothing happened at first, but then, Jasper suddenly stopped at a quiet corner, pinning Cristelle against the wall and trying to kiss her.
Linford’s face fell immediately. Luckily, Cristelle suddenly pushed Jasper away, stumbling out of place.
Clara was sitting across the table, looking concerned, “What happened to Cristelle recently? Why did she suddenly quit her job? And what is her relationship with Jasper? How come they are so close to each other?”
She was careful as she looked at Linford’s face. Linford’s handsome face was only fogged with resentment for a fleeting second. And then, he just regained his composure, being cold and proud again.
“Linford, you know Dad’s against your relationship with Cristelle all the time. If you really want to be with her, at least…” Clara sat like an elegant lady as she said that. She sounded so concerned and caring, yet she only tried to sabotage their relationship.
“At least what?” Linford was so sick and tired of this fake woman. Unfortunately, he didn’t have the patience to hear what she said.
“At least… you need to make sure she didn’t act like that in public. It’s humiliating. Our house…”
“Act like what? No matter what she does in public, she’s still my wife. Do you hold any opinion against that?” Linford threw her phone onto the table, “My dear sister-in-law, if you have the time to get into our business, maybe you should consider cleaning up your own dirty laundry.”
Clara went pale. She didn’t expect Linford to see through her tricks so soon. She could only fake a smile, “Jesus… Why would I ever come here to ruin your relationship with your wife? I’m doing this for the reputation of the family. Besides, I don’t want you to get fooled, Linford.”
Linford raised up from his chair and put on his coat, “So you’re doing this for my sake? How noble. Stop keeping your eyes on Cristelle all the time, and don’t leave any evidence behind. Or… You know what will happen to you. Don’t go beyond the limit that could harm her, I won’t spare you!”
With that, he turned around and walked out of the door. Clara couldn’t keep faking a smile anymore. She threw her phone onto the ground like a madwoman and screamed.
CLASH!
Her phone was shattered into pieces.
That whore was horsing around outside, and he didn’t even care.
She came to warn him, but he treated her like a piece of trash! How could he do this to her? They had been so close when they were both young and innocent.
It’d been so many years, but she still couldn’t let him go.
She thought for a while and pulled out another phone from her purse, calling a number, “Tell her to act faster. Or she won’t get the 10 million!”

“Alfred, send some men to protect Cristelle. I don’t want her to get too close to Jasper ever again,” Linford’s face was grim when he returned to his office.
Alfred was shuddering as he took the order, knowing if he let Jasper get any close to Cristelle, he would get fired, “Yes, sir.”
Fritzi happened to run into Alfred when she came into the office. The look on Alfred’s face was pretty scary.
Fritzi was so confused, “Hey, you’re alright? Why do you look like you want to murder someone? What are you gonna do?”
Alfred shook his head and walked out of the office, deciding to cast this annoying Jasper Johnson away no matter what.
Fritzi shrugged and approached Linford’s table, “Boss, I need your signature.”
Linford unfolded the file and pulled out his pen, leaving his signature on it. Then, acting randomly, he asked, “How’s Cristelle’s business?”
“Oh, she’s doing great. They just opened a studio not far from here. I mean… it’s not big. But it still has potential,” Fritzi had gone there before to check it out. She noticed Linford was probing, so she teased her boss, “Why? Do you want to know how Cristelle is doing? Should I take you there and take a look?”
Linford arched an eyebrow, and Fritzi instantly shut up.
“You can go visit yourself. I don’t care,” He sneered at her, trying to act like he didn’t care.
