Tanya smiled at her daughter-in-law, “You’re always so considerate, Clara. Thanks for your advice. I’ll be careful.”
The second son of Bradley house, Clyde, had passed away. But his wife, Clara, had never considered giving up her position as young Mrs. Bradley. For her, Clyde’s death was a great chance. She knew she could be with Linford once her husband died. And she was all for the goal. The two snakes naturally became allies.
Clara sighed heavily, “My grandma was so mad yesterday. She has never been so mad in years. The Wayne house was utterly humiliated. Tylor’s gonna be sent abroad next week. His parents almost divorced after that. That Cristelle Friesley is a disaster to all of us. All the houses we are related to have been in trouble since she showed up in this city.”
Tanya frowned, face grim, “What? Is it that serious now?”
Clara sounded disgusted, “It’s all Cristelle’s fault. She’s such a cunning bitch! Causing all troubles and breaking our respective families’ good relationship over the past years.”
Tanya was stunned upon hearing that news from Clara. Her hatred toward Cristelle thus deepened.

Cristelle’s colleagues spoiled Candace. They fed her almost all the snacks stored in the pantry. Cristelle had to stop them, or Candace wouldn’t be able to have lunch.
When it was finally lunchtime, Alfred was sent to invite Cristelle and the little girl.
“Cristelle, Mr. Bradley invited you and Candace to have lunch with him.”
“Ouch! It seems like I can’t have lunch with the little beauty over here,” Fritzi held Candace in her arms and ran her soft fingers to the little girl’s chubby cheek.
Candace giggled and left a tiny kiss on Fritzi’s cheek.
Cristelle cleaned her desk up and brought Candace to Linford’s office. The table in the drawing room at Linford’s office was full of all sorts of desserts and food.
Linford rolled his sleeves and put some macaroni on Candace’s plate. Candace happily chewed the chicken drumstick that Linford handed her.
Cristelle was so worried. She didn’t want their daughter to become obese.
Linford perceived how worried she was while secretly glancing at her. He thus poured her a glass of orange juice, “Don’t worry. Candace’s just like you. She won’t look chubby when she grows up. You don’t gain much weight no matter how much you eat, right?”
Cristelle was speechless. This man would say or do everything as long as he could to make his daughter happy.

The people from the White House and Darwin’s assistant arrived after lunch. Cristelle saw those people when she took Candace for a walk.
“What do you want anyway?” Linford was a bit irritated. If these people didn’t show up all of a sudden, he would have gone downstairs to be with Candace.
The Wayne house sent their housekeeper this time. The old man looked a bit forced, “Mr. Bradley, could you please spare us this time? Mrs. Wayne is really sick right now. She was sent to the ICU last night. Could you please…”
“I thought you needed to consult doctors for that. I don’t have a medical degree. Why did you come to me exactly? Alfred, make sure these people get out of my building.”
The housekeeper still wanted to stay and say something more, but Alfred steered him out of Linford’s office almost forcefully, “Sir, I know a famous doctor if Mrs. Wayne needs one.”
The assistant of Darwin, Bratt, was a bit hesitant after seeing this, “Sir, your father asked you to bring Candace back. He had invited the most famous doctor for Candace. He wishes your daughter could talk one day.”
Linford stared at him intently, his voice cold, “My daughter doesn’t need that. She can talk. She just doesn’t want to. Go back and tell him that Candace wouldn’t go back. He should give up the idea for his good.”
Bratt hurriedly explained, “Sir, please don’t misunderstand your father. Your grandfather picked the doctor himself. There won’t be a problem at all since Old Bradley chose him.”
“I am Candace’s father. No one can tell me what to do. Go back and tell grandfather what I have told you. He will understand my decision,” Linford snapped back.
Bratt didn’t dare to force Linford anymore. He left Linford’s office instantly.
Linford threw the pen in his hand away, going toward the giant glass wall. How could his Grandpa also agree with his father’s farce?
He owed Cody and Candace so much. They had lived a tough life with their mom when he was away. He felt guilty already knowing the past situation of his children and wife, but those people somehow decided to mess around and create a problem between him and Cristelle. How dare they.

Cristelle and Fritzi had been playing with Candace. Candace got a bit tired eventually, rubbing her eyes with one hand as she leaned against Cristelle’s shoulder. Cristelle held her in her arms and went upstairs.
She saw Linford when the doors of the elevator slid open.
“Candace’s tired. She needs to sleep.”
Linford blinked, “Of course.”
Saying that he took the little girl in his arms and walked toward his office. Cristelle followed them. When she walked in the door, Linford was gently putting their little girl on the couch, dropping his suit jacket over Candace’s small body.
Cristelle’s heart melted upon looking at them.
She leaned against the door, arms folded before her chest as she said gently. “We should send her to school tomorrow. We can’t spoil her this way.”
“It doesn’t matter,” Linford stared down at his daughter, “She can do whatever she wants to do. She is still young and has a better future ahead of her.”
“I know you love her, but you can’t spoil her forever, Linford,” Cristelle frowned a little.
Linford shrugged and glanced at her, “She’s my precious daughter. She deserves the best. I don’t mind spoiling her.”
Cristelle sighed heavily, “I’m going back to work now. Tell me when she wakes up.”
Linford looked over his wide shoulder and smiled, “Okay. Just go ahead.”
