Franco sat down on his chair, “You don’t know much about business, Darwin. Linford has his own plan. You should leave everything to him.”
Darwin sighed, “I’m doing this for our house. The Wayne house helped us before. Linford is making us look ugly in public.”
Franco laughed, “You’re being too careful, son. I know Wayne helped us, but we’ve been throwing money at them for decades. I think we’ve already repaid their kindness. Do we have to take care of them forever?”
“Dad, why are you talking this way? Did Linford come to visit you?” Darwin kept arguing and sounded suspicious.
Franco shook his head, “Linford may be young, Darwin. But he knows better than you. He’s a successful businessman, and he knows how to keep things clear. Even if we can make the Wayne family rich for now, we won’t be able to keep them relying on us forever. They will go broke eventually, and it won’t be our fault. Why should we still help them if they don’t even try to stand independently? Just for fame? That’s just silly.”
Darwin went a bit blushed, “But we still can help them for now. So why don’t we even try?”
Franco went serious, “Darwin, don’t do anything stupid because of your pride.”
“How come it’s stupid?” Darwin couldn’t understand, “Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could keep a partner? What if Mr. Wayne comes to visit us? How are you gonna tell him?”
Franco sighed disappointedly, “Mr. Wayne shared the same thought with me. We’ve had a cup of tea together earlier.”
“What?” Darwin’s mouth fell open. “You don’t know the thoughts of the old men. Mr. Wayne knows how lazy his sons are. He thinks this is a great opportunity to get them to work. If they can keep the glory of the family, they will work to defend it. If they can’t, they deserve to lose everything. He didn’t want his sons to live like maggots. The Wayne house won’t be able to rely on us forever. Mr. Wayne thought it was a humiliation. However, even if they fail this time, they still have a lot of money left. They will never starve to death. You really don’t need to worry about them, son.”
Hearing that, Darwin just became extremely pissed off. It seemed like he was the only one who was wrong.
“Alright, I get it,” Darwin stood up from his chair, “I don’t want to continue this conversation anymore. You guys just do whatever you like. I won’t be a part of this anymore.”
With that, he walked out of the door.
Jack was a bit worried, “Will he be okay?”
Franco sighed, “It’s okay. He will think about it when he goes back. By the way, pick some grapes from our garden for Cody and Candace. I remember Candace loves grapes very much. So pick the sweet ones.”
Jack nodded and left immediately.

The teacher decided to take the students to pick up some tomatoes today.
Candace was holding a little basket, feeling confident. She was quite good at picking up fruits.
Cody followed her. He was not interested in activities like this. He felt bored every day in school, making him question the meaning of his life. The new teacher was a young man called Joe. He was quite responsive, and he liked Candace very much.
“Alright, guys! We’ve arrived at the place. Just pick up as many tomatoes as possible. The winner will get a prize.” After that, Joe just left the kids in the field and let them do whatever they wanted.
Candace was with her best friend, Amy. Amy was about the same age as Candace. She was wearing a white dress and had the most beautiful pair of hazel eyes. She was Candace’s best girlfriend in the class.
However, when they crouched down to pick tomatoes, Amy was startled by a little frog and fell. Her knee started to bleed. Candace went forth, helping her best friend up and blowing air at her knee. She knew she needed to ask Joe to come over now. At this moment, however, Cody suddenly approached them.
He took a look at Amy’s knee, “Why are you crying? It’s just a little scratch.”
Amy lowered her gaze after hearing that. Candace pointed at the little frog, trying to let Cody know that Amy was startled. But Cody didn’t seem to care. He frowned at the girl, “It’s just a frog, and you just got scared? It’s pretty lame, Amy.”
Cody was the smartest and cutest boy in school. Every little girl had a secret crush on him. Hearing that comment from him broke Amy’s heart. She rubbed her eyes a little and started to cry.
Cody shook his head. Candace frowned, gesturing at him so he would shut up. She helped Amy up. She knew she had to call Joe here right now.
Cody stopped his little sister, “I’ll take her to Joe. You just stay here to pick tomatoes. We’ll be back soon.”
Candace nodded slightly, watching worriedly as Cody and Amy left. She picked tomatoes until her basket was full. And then she went to fill Amy’s basket.
However, someone came over and kicked at their baskets, making the tomatoes scatter in the mud. It was a little boy who was clad in luxurious brands. He was quite tall for his age. He walked forth and stomped on the tomatoes, grinding them into the mud with his foot.
This was such a waste!
Candace didn’t like it, so she tried to make him stop. What was this boy doing? Why was he trying to ruin all her tomatoes? You can’t waste food. It’s not right.
The boy was a Wayne family member. His name was Tylor Wayne. He was older and stronger than Candace. He pushed the girl away, “Stay away from us, little bastard!”
Candace almost fell, but she managed to stand still.
Why was he trying to cast her away?
Tylor ground his foot on her tomatoes, hissing, “You can’t stay here with us! Your Mom is a bad woman!”
