Chapter 85 – She is missing… again!

Book:Mr. CEO's Executive Secretary Published:2024-5-31

When Tristan and Jacob arrived at the hospital, Belle’s attending physician told them that the woman had been moved to a hospital in Dale. This was the request of the patient, according to him.
Upon hearing that, Tristan instructed Jacob to call the company’s pilot and prepare the private jet. They have to reach Dale as soon as possible.
Fortunately, they didn’t take that long to reach the hospital where Belle’s confined. Jacob did the honor of approaching the nurse’s station to ask where the woman’s room was.
When Tristan found out that Belle was staying in a ward, he ordered Jacob to move her to a private room. And there he spent all his time taking care of her.
“What happened to her?” Lydia asked.
Tristan was a bit startled as he didn’t hear anyone opening the door. He stopped wiping Belle’s arm and placed the towel back in the basin.
He sat on the chair next to Belle’s bed, and let out a sigh, before facing Belle’s adopted parents. “I’m really sorry about this,” he started.
The young De Clarion narrated everything from beginning to end. Lydia started crying as soon as Tristan started speaking. Even Raymond was unable to stop his tears from flowing.
“I shouldn’t have let her go to Bree,” Raymond stated after hearing everything.
“I’m so sorry about everything. I should have protected her as much as I could.”
“My daughter’s very lucky to have met you,” Lydia uttered. “If it weren’t for you, we’d have a dead body by now.”
Raymond lightly squeezed his wife’s shoulder. He understands her and he’s thankful to Tristan as well.
Days later, Belle finally gained consciousness. According to the doctor, she lost lots of blood and that caused her to fall into a coma.
Fortunately, Belle survived the incident. Unfortunately, it caused her huge trauma. Each night, she’d still cry whenever she recalls what happened.
Because of that, Tristan decided to take her back to Bree with him. Lydia and Raymond both agreed.
According to Raymond, “It’s best when she’s with you. We have no means to protect her here in Dale.”
Luckily enough, Belle agreed to go with him. But instead of staying at the De Clarion Villa, Tristan took her to his penthouse.
“Why are we here?” Belle asked.
Tristan sat next to her on the couch, “Love, you should be here with me. That way, I can look after you. Aside from that, I asked Jacob to hire a driver for you. One who can be with you when we’re not together and one who can protect you.”
“Love…” she called, adjusting her position so she could face him properly and hold his hand. “You don’t have to do that. After everything that happened, I think it’s safe to say that we’re finally at peace. No one will threaten me anymore. I’m safe. We’re safe.”
But no matter what she said, Tristan would only shake his head at her. “No. There’s no harm in having a driver or even a bodyguard, so just take him with you.”
Left without a choice, Belle finally agreed. She doesn’t want to worry him anyway, so she eventually agrees to have someone next to her in Tristan’s absence.
Belle takes her time to rest. When she went back to Bree, she immediately contacted Nathalie to ask her to take care of the company in the meantime.
Since there are no incoming new contracts and most are just maintenance services, her friend can easily take on it. Belle was also assured that she had nothing to worry about.
Weeks later, Belle receives a black envelope at the penthouse. At first, she was hesitant to check it out, but she did anyway.
She was invited on a cruise as a representative of Sweet Sue. Surprised, Belle decides to consult Tristan first before making an RSVP.
Sweet Sue Cyber Security isn’t as big as De Clarion Empire. She’s not as huge as Tristan De Clarion. But her company’s well known in Bree, as she’s the only one in that line of business and that made her known in the city.
Aside from that, she also became more popular after all the ruckus Joyce, Vernice and Esme caused. But even more than that, she became popular as Tristan De Clarion’s apple of the eye.
Back to the invitation, Belle laid down on the couch to nap while waiting for Tristan. She needs to know if he’s coming and if he is, then she’d definitely come.
An hour later, she woke up and started preparing dinner for her and the love of her life, Tristan. While doing so, she heard the door being unlocked from the outside.
“Love?” Tristan called.
“I’m in the kitchen, love!”
While preparing the pasta, Belle felt the man’s arms on her waist. “Love, why are you doing this? I told you we should just hire a housekeeper.”
“Hmm, Tristan…” Belle trailed as she turned around to face him. “It’s just the two of us here. We don’t really need any help. As for the cooking, let me do that. I was so bored while waiting for you,” she pouted.
“Alright, I won’t go against what you want as long as you’re here with me. In my house, in my room, on my bed,” he sounded so sweet that Belle was unable to stop herself from kissing him.
Tristan stared straight into her eyes when she let go of him. He pulled her closer, and kissed her forehead, the tip of her nose, then her lips. “I love you, Belle.”
“I love you too,” the woman replied, followed by the grumbling of the man’s stomach. They broke into laughter, then Belle lightly pushed him away. “Let’s eat, you’re starving.”
Tristan chuckled, he was embarrassed because of what happened. But he couldn’t deny that he was indeed starving.
“You didn’t eat in the office?”
Still feeling embarrassed, the man scratched the back of his head before facing the woman. “I was supposed to go home for lunch, but we had an emergency meeting and it just ended,” glancing at his watch, Tristan smirked, “about 20 minutes ago.”
“Love, please. I know you’re busy most of the time. But please, take care of yourself. Eat on time. You’re the boss, you can easily do that.”
Tristan didn’t expect that Belle would nag. He never liked being nagged. But instead of feeling annoyed, he’s feeling happy for an unknown reason.
Maybe Belle has really changed her. Maybe now it’s okay to be nagged. Especially if it’s the love of his life.
