Chapter 159
A red car screeched to a halt in front of the restaurant. Lisa hopped out of the car with Alfred trailing behind her.
“Are you seriously gonna stay with me till the end of today?” Lisa asked Alfred and he nodded. Lisa rolled her eyes.
After they had woken up this morning, Alfred helped Lisa prepare breakfast and helped the kids get dressed for school. He had made Lisa enter his car with the kids. After he had dropped the kids at school, he took Lisa to work.
He had already told her he would stay with her at work throughout the day and made sure she didn’t stress since she wasn’t feeling that well and as from tomorrow she can start coming all by herself, Lisa didn’t want to agree in the first place but she had to agree because Alfred was putting so much pressure on her.
Lisa walked inside the restaurant to her office with Alfred trailing behind her, his hands tucked in his pocket making him look so hot and handsome. The female workers were already crushing on him because of his handsome looks. Lisa scoffed as she entered her office then dropped the bag on the table and turned to Alfred.
“Seriously? Don’t you have work to do? Stop acting like a pest” Lisa said rudely and Alfred hummed.
He stared Lisa straight in the eyes and Lisa quickly looked away. He smiled.
“I’ll be outside. I just wanted to make sure you get to your office safely. I’ll be outside ” Alfred said and winked at Lisa before walking out of her office. Lisa felt cold shivers run down her spine.
She hissed and locked the door, moving towards her chair she heard the door burst open. It was Dina.
“Oh my goodness, Lisa. How are you feeling? How’s your foot?” Dina asked as she walked in and then Hugged Lisa.
“I’m okay,” Lisa said with a smile on her face as they pulled away from the hug.
“I can see you’re okay. You’re glowing Lisa” Dina said with a wink and Lisa hit her lightly on her shoulder making Dina laugh. She sat on her chair while Dina sat on the other vacant one.
“What about the kids?” Dina asked
“They are fine,” Lisa said and gave out a sigh
“What about Daniel? Williams told me yesterday that he is kind of unwell” Dina said and Lisa raised her eyebrows.
“Really? I didn’t know he was sick” Lisa said looking worried
“Why? He hasn’t called you since the last time you left his office?” Dina asked
“He called me. He came to my house but something happened Dina” Lisa said as she became sad
“What happened?” Dina asked as she noticed the sad expression on Lisa’s face.
“Daniel tried forcing himself on me,” Lisa said and Dina opened her eyes in shock.
“Oh my goodness!! This is unbelievable ” Dina said and Lisa sighed
“I’m as shocked as you are. It happened so fast that I couldn’t believe it. I don’t know what came over him” Lisa said and Dina sighed
“He was probably feeling hurt because of Alfred and then lost control. Daniel is a good man. You should give him time. He will be fine, he’s just heartbroken ” Dina said and Lisa nodded in response.
“I hope so,” she said
“What about Alfred? Seems like you guys are getting along already ” Dina said and Lisa rolled her eyes.
“We are not, I’m just pretending we are getting along because of the kids,” Lisa said as she brought out a file from her table drawer.
“Seriously? When will you stop using your kids as an excuse and admit you are already falling for him” Dina said in a moving tone.
“Never!!!!! I cannot fall for him. It is not going to happen” Lisa said and Dina laughed
“It’s not going to happen or it’s already happening?” Dina laughed and Lisa shot her a deadly glare.
“Why is he always around you? Don’t deny the fact that you do not like his company. I know you Lisa ” Dina said and Lisa rolled her eyes.
“I do not enjoy his company. I just don’t want to push him away. He’s still the quadruplet’s father” Lisa said and Dina smiled.
“I have a wedding to attend in the future,” Dina said as she stood up.
“That’s gonna be with you and Williams, ” Lisa said and Dina laughed.
“Me and Williams or you and Alfred and then you shall be called Lisa kings,” Dina said and Lisa shot her a deadly glare. She quickly ran out of Lisa’s office with a smile plastered on her face.
“You are crazy Dina,” Lisa thought as she closed the files on her table. She stood up from her chair and walked out of her office deciding to see how things were going in the restaurant.
At first, she went to the kitchen and scrutinized the whole area. Everything was in place. Making Dina the kitchen manager was one of the best decisions she’s ever made. She always made sure everything was okay in the kitchen. She’s doing a good job, Lisa thought as she walked out of the kitchen and then to the reception where a lot of customers were eating with a smile on their faces.
She felt satisfied with everything. She decided to check a few more things before going back to her office but then she caught a glimpse of Alfred. Some young girls who were looking as sexy as hell were gathered around him and he was talking to them.
Lisa felt jealousy run down her spine. She didn’t know why but seeing Alfred with other girls made her jealous and Angry.
She wasn’t supposed to be feeling any jealousy but she was and she hated it. Is Dina right? Is she truly developing feelings for Alfred?! That cannot be possible, Lisa thought.
Just then Alfred caught a glimpse of Lisa staring at her from inside the restaurant. The restaurant was built with transparent glass so it was easier for people from the outside to see people from the inside and vice versa.
When Lisa noticed Alfred had seen her, she walked away from where she was standing and walked back to her office.
“Excuse me,” Alfred said and walked away from the midst of the girls and ran towards Lisa.
