Chapter 156
Just then a young girl walked in. She walked towards the bar area and stood beside Daniel who was looking a little bit drunk.
“Freya” the bartender called out immediately after she saw the young girl.
“Daisy” the so-called Freya called out in response.
“What are you doing here? I thought I told you not to come anywhere near the club, it’s not safe for you especially when there are a lot of drunk men over here” Daisy the bartender said worriedly looking around.
“I’m sorry, I would have called you but my phone battery died. Something had happened ” Freya said worriedly.
“What happened?” Daisy asked
“It’s mom, she was robbed at the market today. The last money she had was taken by those robbers and we are left with nothing… the landlady would be coming today for her payment too” Freya said worriedly and Daisy sighed.
She brought out all the money she’s sold so far and gave it all to Freya.
“You should leave now. I’ll be home later” Daisy said and Freya smiled at her before turning to leave.
Daisy turned to Daniel who’s been staring at them all these while listening to their conversation.
“She’s your sister right?” Daniel asked
“Yeah,” Daisy said in reply and Daniel hummed.
“Why do you work in a bar? The same way you don’t want your sister to be around here, you shouldn’t be seen here too” Daniel said
“I don’t work here. I own the bar” Daisy said and Daniel was a little bit surprised. How could a young girl in a bar be like this? This was incredible. Daniel hummed and Daisy stared at him with no expression on her face.
She walked away from Daniel and went to attend to other customers.
Just then Daniel heard noises coming from the other side of the bar. It was a man yelling at Daisy and the man looked so drunk. The man held Daisy by her shirt and picked up a glass cup then hit her on her head.
“Wtf!!” Daniel muttered as he saw blood. He stared around the bar and no one would come to Daisy’s rescue. A lot of people were so drunk that they didn’t even pay attention to them and most of them were just staring without saying a word.
Daniel stood up and walked towards them. He pulled the man’s hands from Daisy’s shirt and gave him a punch on his face making him spit blood.
“Let the girl be the man!” Daniel said and the man grunted
“Stay away from this Asshole,” the man said and tried punching Daniel but he was quick enough to dodge the punch.
“Woah!!” The crowd screamed, this time all attention was on them.
Daniel punched the guy twice on his nose and twice in his mouth.
“Oh shit!! You just broke my nose” the guy yelled as blood gushed out of his nose.
Just then the police walked in and moved toward Daniel and the guy.
Immediately they saw Daniel, they were surprised.
“Mr. Daniel smith” the commissioner of police called out while the other officers held the other guy and took him away. The rest of the police officers asked everyone to evacuate the clubhouse.
“Commissioner” Daniel smiled at him. He turned to Daisy and noticed she was scared. Probably because the police are gonna close down the bar.
“We received a call….”
“As you can see, everything is fine here commissioner ” Daniel cut the police off
“But sir?” the commissioner paused and nodded then walked away without saying another word. Daniel is quite an influential man in Singapore and a lot of people wouldn’t want to get on his bad side.
Immediately, the police left Daisy turned to Daniel and gave him a grateful look. He had just saved her life and her bar today. She was grateful.
“You should clean that,” Daniel said as he stared at Daisy’s head which was bleeding.
“Oh!” Daisy muttered and went inside her fridge then brought out a block then placed it on it. She stared at the bar which was already empty.
Even though it was empty at least it was not closed down permanently. People are gonna come the next day.
“Is that how they treat you here?” Daniel asked
“Oh!! People who don’t want to pay for their drinks always want to cause a fight” Daisy laughed
“And no one comes to help?” Daniel asked
“No, I’m used to it already. It happens almost every day so it’s no longer a need for me” Daisy said and smiled, staring at Daniel straight in the eyeball.
She swallowed hard and looked away.
“Thank you for saving my life,” Daisy said and Daniel chuckled
“You could thank me with a bottle of tequila, ” Daniel said and laughed. Daisy began to wonder what this young man sitting in front of him would be going through that would want to make him drink till he was wasted.
“Ok then,” Daisy said and brought out a bottle of tequila and gave it to him. He carried the bottle and a glass cup and made his way to an empty couch.
He sat on it and opened the bottle of tequila, and gulped down a large quantity from the bottle. He removed the bottle from his mouth and then turned to Daisy who was staring at him from the bar.
“Come over here,” Daniel said and smiled. Daisy nodded and walked towards him then sat beside him. Daniel took the glass cup that was beside him and poured a glass full of alcohol for her.
“Here, you should drink this,” Daniel said and Daisy nodded. She took the glass cup from him. Daisy stared at him in the eyes and all she could see was pain.
He was hurt, someone close to him must have hurt him this bad and it was a female.
“She was everything I wanted. She was my life and breath” Daniel said as he gulped down the liquid from the bottle.
Daisy could understand how he was feeling. Her boyfriend had broken up with her weeks ago. She had gone through a lot of pain too but thank God for her mom and sister who were there to support her and help her move on. She poured the full glass of liquid into her mouth and gulped it down.
Daniel placed the bottle in his mouth and was about to gulp down the last liquid, it was then he realized the bottle was now empty.
He dropped the bottle on the ground and then turned to Daisy.
“Have you ever loved anyone?” he asked and Daisy, who was already drunk, nodded in response. Daniel smiled at Daisy as he stared at her. Suddenly, he began to see Lisa in Daisy.
He dragged Daisy towards himself, with both of them staring into each other’s eyes, and the next thing he placed his lips on hers.
