Chapter 139
“Why would you tell the kids that kind of story?” Lisa asked as she shot Alfred a deadly glare.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t know it would offend you,” Alfred said as Lisa walked away from him.
“Lisa” Alfred called trailing behind her and swiftly Lisa turned to him.
“Stop playing with my emotions Alfred. Stop acting like you’re a good man and a good father when we both know you’re a monster. I’m only doing what I’m doing for the kids. I let you in tonight because of the kids and I want you gone before day break” Lisa said and turned to leave but suddenly she paused and turned to him.
“Thing can never go the way you want it to go with us. It can not. Not now, not ever so please know your boundaries” Lisa said and with that, she walked away from him. She climbed upstairs to her room. Locking the door behind her, she sat on the ground tiredly.
She wondered what Alfred was trying to do by coming to her home and playing with the children.
Maybe he thinks she will forgive him because of that but never she won’t forgive him, she thought and then stood up from the ground. She sat on the bed and memories of how it all started came running into her head. She just wished her mom was still alive.
She sighed softly and lay on the bed. She closed her eyes trying to force herself to sleep but she just couldn’t sleep.
Meanwhile, Alfred is seen in the sitting room sitting on the long couch. He sighed softly as he stared around the sitting room.
“Being a mother to a quadruplet wouldn’t be an easy one. At first, she must have passed through so much pain while delivering the babies and bringing them up in the right way, and managing the restaurant wouldn’t be an easy one either. He is here now and he promises to make things easy for her” he thought
He knows quite well that Lisa had been through a lot, forgiving him would definitely take a long process but he still would not give up until she forgives him.
Alfred tried laying down on the couch but it seems he was taller than it so it wasn’t comfortable. He had to sit on it and try to sleep but sleep wasn’t coming. He sighed softly staring at the ceiling, lots of thoughts going through his mind.
*******Earlier Today*******
After he had left Lisa’s office hours ago he had gone to the motel, but he just couldn’t stay at the motel. All he wants is Lisa. All he craved for is Lisa. So he came to their house with the car he had bought recently.
Even though it was rainy he didn’t care. He just wants Lisa to talk to him. All he wants is for Lisa to forgive him and he would do absolutely anything to earn her forgiveness.

It was midnight and Lisa could be seen tossing around the bed. He just couldn’t sleep, all her thoughts were filled with Alfred, no matter how hard she tried to push his thoughts of him away.
She stood up from the bed and wore her flip-flop. She decided to check on Alfred in the sitting room. She opened her door and climbed down the stairs to the sitting room where she met Alfred sitting on the couch with his eyeclosed.
Alfred was quite taller than the chair so she knew he wouldn’t be able to sleep on it. She sighed softly and was about to go back to her room when she heard him call her name, softly.
She turned and saw his eyes were still clothes. She walked towards him and then she heard him talking from his sleep. “Lisa please forgive me” he kept on saying those words.
“Is he dreaming about me?” Lisa thought as she stared at him but then she noticed something, he was shivering.
“Alfred” she called and touched him and she quickly withdrew her hands. His body was as hot as fire.
“Alfred, Are you alright ” she called as she touched his hands and Alfred grabbed her hands at once.
“Please don’t leave me, Lisa, I’m sorry please forgive me” he kept on saying as he held her hands.
“Oh my goodness, he’s still asleep. He’s dreaming about me” Lisa thought
“Alfred, I’m here, I’m not going anywhere. Open your eyes ” Lisa spoke softly and suddenly Alfred opened his eyes. Immediately he opened his eyes and tears slipped down his cheeks. Lisa stared at him and felt pity for him.
“Alfred are you alright?” She asked as he stared at her without saying a word but suddenly he pulled her into a warm hug.
“I’m sorry Lisa, please forgive me” he spoke those words in her ear and Lisa could feel cold running through her veins.
She felt her heartbeat increase as a strange feeling rose in her. She quickly pulled away from the hug.
“I’m here. Come I’ll take you to my room” Lisa said as she put his hands around her shoulder and dragged him up.
“God!! He’s so light and lean” she thought as she remembered the day Alfred had gotten sick. How she had managed to carry him to his room that day. He had so much weight but now it seems so different, he’s lost so much weight.
Lisa helped him to her room upstairs and helped him lay on the bed. He was now shivering so bad and his body was becoming so hot.
She walked inside her bathroom and took a bowl of water and a towel. She walked back to him and sat beside him on the bed. She put the towel inside the water and squeezed it then put it on his forehead.
She stared at the man who was lying in her bed. He had black circles around his eyes like he hadn’t been sleeping at all but still he was looking as handsome as ever.
No matter how hard she tries to be, even though she tries to act like she doesn’t care but deep down she does care.
