Uhm, Mr Andrew, we ran a few tests for the patients and these came out” the doctor said and gave the test result to Andrew.
“What does the test result say?” Andrew asked
“The patient……” the doctor paused and Andrew raised his eyebrows signaling him to continue.
“She’s pregnant ” the doctor said and Andrew opened his mouth in shock.
“Pregnant?? Doctor, are you sure?” He asked again to be sure of what he just heard.
“Yes. Why do you ask? You look shocked” The doctor said in response.
“Nothing, I’m just excited” Andrew said smiling and the doctor nodded in response.
“Well let’s just hope she and the baby come out of this alive” the doctor said and Andrew nodded sadly.
He just hopes Lisa and the baby survives.
He knows how much Alfred would be so excited to hear this news. Everyone has always thought Alfred was impotent and couldn’t impregnate a woman.
His ex girlfriend left him years ago claiming Alfred wasn’t man enough to impregnate a woman. This shattered him. He’s done so many tests and they say he wouldn’t be able to impregnate any woman.
And now Lisa is pregnant for him, this is a miracle.

Andrew got home and there he met Alfred in the sitting room. He looked lost and all that he didn’t notice Andrew walked inside the sitting room.
He had left Lisa at the hospital to come tell Alfred the good news hoping it was going to make him feel better.
“Alfred!” Andrew called, jolting him out of his thoughts. He turned to Andrew and sighed softly.
“I’m sorry about what happened today. I didn’t have the intention of betraying you” Andrew said and Alfred nodded.
“It’s alright. Nothing’s changed. We are still brothers ” Alfred said and patted him back softly.
Andrew smiled at him. And just then they were both silent as none of them were talking to each other. Andrew was thinking of a way to tell him about Lisa but deep down he was scared of saying it, probably scared of his reactions.
“Alfred, Lisa’s…….”
“She’s dead?” Alfred cut him off
“No, she’s in coma” andrew said
“Okay, good for her” Alfred said and Andrew swallowed hard.
“Alfred, don’t you think you are a little bit hard on her?” Andrew said and Alfred scoffed
“When his father raped my mother till she bleed till death, was he not hard on her? When he killed my father, was he not hard on me?, when he killed my younger brother, was he not hard on me? Andrew I fucking watch those things happened. Do you know how traumatizing it is? For years I couldn’t get the memories off my head. And you expect me to go easy on her”
“Alfred she’s pregnant” Andrew said and Alfred turned to him looking as shocked as ever.
“Pregnant??” Alfred asked again to be sure of what he just heard.
“Yes,” Andrew said he replied and Alfred looked away from him like he was in deep thoughts.
He couldn’t believe Lisa was pregnant. It was impossible. His impotent doctors confirmed it , how come she’s now pregnant?
“I know what you’re thinking Alfred. I think it’s a miracle. You know how long you’ve been craving for children in your life. How long you’ve been wanting to build a family of yours…..”
“Building a family wouldn’t be with that murderer’s daughter”
“Alfred, you’re no different from Mr Cranston if you refuse to change your ways towards Lisa. You had beaten her till she ended up in coma, what if she had died too? Then you’ll be no different from her father because you both will be a murderer ” Andrew said in a convincing tone.
“I’m nothing like her father,” Alfred retorted.
“Then prove it that you’re not. Prove it that you are different, prove it that you’re not like Mr Cranston and you’re much better. I’m not trying to force you to do anything Alfred. Remember you’re a man, you should act like one not a coward” Andrew said and smiled inwardly when he noticed his words were getting into him.
He stood up and turned to him.
“You know how much grandma loved Lisa, seeing her in this condition she won’t be happy with you. For grandma and for your unborn child. I hope you change your mind” Andrew said and with that he walked away.
Alfred sighed softly immediately as he left as his mind was filled with different thoughts.
The memories of how his mother was raped by mr Cranston In his own eyes came running into his head. He watched his mother , bleed , cried and begged for help, but Mr Cranston paid a deaf ear to her pleas.
He had stood there with tears in his eyes watching the whole incident take place and yet he could do nothing because he was just so little then.
“Papa help mommy” little Alfred cried to his father who had tied his legs and hands and made him watch how his wife and children were going to die.
After he was done with her mother, he shot her on her forehead twice. He turned to his father laughing at him so loud.
“I told you I would be back Chris but you doubted me. Now here I am, ”Mr Cranston laughed at Alfred’s father, Chris.
He shot his father on his forehead and chest then shot his younger brother before taking him away.
He made him suffer after he took him, he treated him like he was his slave. He was just so tender , innocent and little then.
He always hears him say “I derive so much pleasure in making you suffer little boy”.
After he managed to escape he was taken in by his adopted mother Laura kings. A ruthless woman who was known in town as a successful business woman. She has won many business awards and was termed as the First Lady of the king’s empire.
He took him in as a son, took him to the hospital and did so many tests, surgery and treatment for him because he had sustained a-lots of injuries and had internal injuries too.
After all was done, she prepared an adoption paper and adopted him as his own son. His heir who would take after him.
Laura knew her faith before she took Alfred in. She knew she had cancer and definitely won’t last long so she needed an heir to take over.
He had asked Alfred to ask her anything if he’s in need and would make sure she does what he wants.
All Alfred said he wanted was revenge for his family which Laura agreed to help her get. She trained him , built him and taught him so many things.
On the day she died, she made Alfred promise her that he would avenge his family no matter what he did but on the other hand, Tessa , Laura’s mother and Alfred grandma had always preached forgiveness to him.
