Chapter 18
The car came to a halt in front of Willow’s house. She paid the cab man immediately. She came down from the car and walked inside the house. There she met her bestie Mira sitting on the couch, playing a game on her phone.
“Oh!! You came back so early” Mira said as she dropped her phone and looked at Willow who was in tears.
“Willow what’s wrong? Why are you crying?” Mira asked as she stood up and walked towards her. She couldn’t even say a word. All she could do was cry.
“Best” Mira called out worriedly. She hugged her tight as they both cried on each other’s shoulder.
After what seems like eternity, Mira was able to calm Willow down. ” The two of us are crazy, you know right?” Mira sniffed, smiling as she wiped her tears. She pulled away from the hug and wiped Willow’s tears. She held her hands and helped her sit on the couch.
“What happened? I thought you were going to see Alfred?” Mira asked worriedly and she nodded and sniffed.
” Then what happened? Why did you come home crying?” Mira asked, looking concerned.
“He didn’t want me anywhere close to him. How can he just cut the relationship the both of us have had for years now.” willow said in a teary tone. She paused and continued.
“I know I have been playing the hard to get type but that doesn’t mean he can just throw me away any time he likes. Mira , I swear there was a time Alfred couldn’t stay without me but now everything has changed since that girl came in ” willow kept ranting nonstop
“Just shut up already, you know whatever you feel towards Alfred isn’t love. You just feel indebted to him because he saved your life. Whatever you feel towards him is not love, search your heart properly ” she said and willow scoffed angrily
“But Mira…..”
“C’mon willow, we both know the truth here, you and Alfred were never a thing. He just saved your poor life and then he was so lonely at that time and he used you” Mira said and Willow felt her heart shattered into pieces of glasses.
Mira saw how hurt Willow was but she didn’t stop talking. She’s never liked Alfred from the start. He’s just a selfish billionaire who thinks he can get everything he wants and now she’s angry at the fact that he used his best friend.
“Cmon willow, you can’t just sit there crying like a baby. You’ve to stand up for yourself and fight for yourself. Make him pay ”Willow sighed softly and stood up from the couch she was sitting on.
“I can’t do anything about it, Mira. Before this whole thing started he made his intentions clear. No feelings attached but I was just stupid enough to fall for his charms. And even if I would love to make him pay, I just can’t ” she turned to her bestie who now stood up and was standing beside her.
“Why”
“Remember he once saved my life”
“Oh! Cut the crap” Mira said and willow swallowed hard.
“Besides I’m pregnant Mira” she paused
“Then tell Alfred about it, I’m sure he’s the father. This is your chance willow, don’t be stupid ” Mira spoke and willow rolled her eyes
“Alfred is not the father. I can’t lie about him being the father when I know deep down he isn’t” she said as she touched her stomach.
“You know you’re crazy right? Who’s the father ? Don’t tell me you don’t know the father ”
” i might be a bitch Mira but I’m not stupid enough not to know the father of my own child” she said
“Then who’s the father?”
“You don’t need to know”
“But I’m your best friend, willow”
“Oh fine then. Klaus is the father. It was an accident okay. I didn’t mean for it to happen ”
“But it did happen anyways ” Mira said and snorted
“Yeah and have got to accept it. I’m keeping the baby” she said and Mira hummed and sat back on the couch, same as willow.
Silence took over like they were in a deep thought.
“So what next?” Mira asked
“I’m going back to the states tomorrow to live with my mom,” Willow said and Mira hummed softly.
“Does Klaus know he’s the father of the child?”
“Yes. We talked already ”
“That god forsaken klaus. I so much hate that guy, he’s such a ” she joined her lips together as willow shot her a deadly glare.
Mira rolled her eyes. Klaus is just a normal guy who lives next door to willow. He’s hard working and has everything a woman would love in a man but that doesn’t change the fact that he’s not rich like Alfred and Cox or that Mira hates her. He wondered what Willow saw in that guy that made her love him.
She rolled her eyes and then touched her forehead slightly. “You sure about your decision ?” She asked Willow and she nodded.
“Ok. Fine then I’ll support you. You know I’ll always do. Best friend for life ” they both smiled and hugged each other.
“Common, you should help me pack my things. I’ll be leaving early tomorrow” willow smiled
” I’m going to miss you best”
“Same here”

It was 2pm already and Alfred was supposed to have a meeting with the investors but he was just too lost in thoughts to know what time is it .
Suddenly, he heard a knock on his door and he raised up his head as whoever knocked on the door walked in.
It was Andrew again. “What do you want?” Alfred asked coldly as he dropped his mom’s picture back from where he took it.
“Sir, you have a meeting by 2pm. It’s 2:10pm already. The investors are already waiting ” he said and Alfred nodded in response.
“I’ll be there in a jiffy. You can go” he said as he picked up his phone from on top of his desk and suddenly he heard a loud thud. It was Andrew, lying on the ground unconscious.
“Oh my goodness!! Andrew ” Alfred yelled and then picked up his phone and called the secretary.
“Call the ambulance ”
“Andrew, Andrew, please open your eyes” Alfred yelled no fear and suddenly he felt a warm liquid slide down his cheeks. He was in tears.
