He determined that it was a mark left by a newly driven car, which, according to the wheel marks, had left in a different direction.
Jason immediately got in his car and drove off in pursuit in the direction this car had left.

Darcey’s eyes twinkled as she smiled, “I’ll think about it first then.”
“Yes!”
Jason smiled and nodded as he continued to speed up the car toward the front.
