They had just had a dispute, and he unexpectedly offered to drive her back. Upon second thought, considering that Aaron would take a while to arrive, and it was already late, she decided to accept the offer.
Taking confident steps in her high heels, she walked towards his car without acknowledging him. She directed him, “Greenhill Club, thank you.”
Seeing her accept his gesture, Mark Goden, who had momentarily felt a bit relieved, watched her approach the car. However, his face turned completely grim when she opened the rear door. It seemed she genuinely regarded him as a chauffeur.
Once inside the car, Roselin immediately immersed herself in responding to work-related messages, displaying no intention of engaging with him.
Mark Goden, glancing at her several times through the rearview mirror, observed her indifference. His thin lips tightened, and he chose to remain silent, focusing solely on driving.
After their recent argument, she was probably not in the best mood. The car interior became silent, prompting him to consider breaking the silence with a suitable topic.
With a stern face and contemplative thoughts, he eventually found a topic, “You’re prone to spraining your ankle. Last time it didn’t fully heal. Try to wear fewer high heels in the future.”
“My shoes are none of your concern,” Roselin interrupted.
Mark Goden, interrupted mid-sentence, was momentarily stunned. He let out a light scoff and decided to remain silent, realizing that he was being overly idle.
The Ferrari stopped at the entrance of Greenhill Club. Roselin thanked him and unbuckled her seatbelt to exit the car.
Mark Goden hesitated for a moment and couldn’t help but speak up, “You used to like that house in Chansherly. Why don’t you move back?”
He felt uneasy as he continued, “Since the house is now yours, I won’t go there.”
Roselin raised an eyebrow, puzzled by his continued concern about whether she would move back to the house.
“Okay, noted,” she replied casually, not wanting to engage further. As she was about to close the car door, Mark Goden asked, “When?”
Realizing the awkwardness of his question, he added, “Isn’t your grandfather coming back soon? Aren’t you afraid of being exposed?”
She clenched her teeth and replied, “Before my grandfather returns.”
Mark Goden seemed particularly satisfied with this response.
Roselin walked towards her home, already feeling a headache at the thought of dealing with the old man. After a busy day, she felt exhausted when she finally arrived home. While changing her shoes, a sense of impending doom crossed her mind. As expected, her menstrual cycle arrived right on schedule, even before she could confirm a pregnancy.
Roselin remained silent for a while and then called Aaron, saying, “It didn’t happen. Tell him to come back when I’m ovulating.”
Aaron responded calmly, “Alright, Miss Cecy.”
Since the divorce, she seemed to have become more relaxed. The constant fear of losing Mark Goden, like a sword hanging over her head, had vanished. Once she actually lost him, she felt a sense of relief and redirected all her focus to work. In just a month, Cecy Group secured several major deals.
She realized how wise her decision to seek a child through a surrogate was. It fulfilled her grandfather’s wishes, ensured the continuity of Cecy Group, and spared her from emotional costs. She hadn’t even bothered to remember the name of the surrogate.
After finishing a busy day at work, she took a moment to message Aaron, instructing him to wait for her at Greenhill Club. Almost a month had passed since they last met. This time, she did her homework to increase the chances of conception.
Returning home after work, she found Aaron waiting in the guest room. The man he had found had a strong ability to learn, as he remembered all her habits and preferences from their previous encounter.
Without any hesitation, Roselin enjoyed his attentive and professional service. However, this time, he was even more silent than the first meeting. From the moment she entered the room until now, he hadn’t spoken a word.
There was no emotional connection; it was all a matter of professional ethics. He followed every step meticulously, and yet, the kisses avoided her lips.
Through the heavy curtains, a silver moonlight spilled onto the floor. When emotions were heightened, William Bran’s large hand glided from her chest to her slender arm until it intertwined with her fingers. As his fingers touched the hard ring on her ring finger, a hint of displeasure flashed in his emotionally charged eyes.
Recalling the scene of the charming woman writing a check at the last party, he felt ripples in his heart. However, the radiant and beautiful woman had a dazzling wedding ring on her slender fingers, which was quite bothersome.
The falcon-like eyes revealed a faint displeasure. In a moment of emotional turbulence, William Bran forcefully grabbed her hand, and while she was momentarily confused and enchanted, he deftly removed the ring from her finger.
Without any hesitation, his large hand effortlessly tossed the ring to the ground. It rolled a few times before disappearing out of sight.
Roselin didn’t even notice that her wedding ring was gone.
In the following moments, every move William Bran made was accompanied by extreme tenderness, showing great consideration for her feelings. He would carefully clean up after her, cradle her in his arms while she slept, and always be gone before she woke up. The service was impeccable.
She appreciated the efficiency and actions-over-words approach of this person. Impressed by his performance, she decided to give him an extra tip.
After everything was over, she sent a message to Aaron, “Send me the complete information on that person.”
Aaron promptly forwarded the detailed information about him.
The information only included his English name, Eric, and revealed that he was a few months younger than her and a graduate of Cambridge University. Despite being an outstanding individual, his life took a different path.
“Help me book a few of the latest men’s wallets for this quarter,” she instructed Aaron, although he wasn’t sure why she suddenly wanted men’s wallets, he didn’t ask. He assumed it was a gift for Mr. Goden.
After rewarding the man with tangible actions, Roselin put the matter aside. The busy work schedule left her with little time to dwell on miscellaneous matters.
After a while, Roselin’s menstrual cycle was delayed for a few days, and she thought she might be pregnant. Excitedly, she bought numerous pregnancy test kits, only to find that all results were negative.
Sitting in the bathroom, she angrily called Aaron, “Did the person you found get a medical check-up? What if he’s infertile?”
Aaron, recovering from being choked by water, coughed repeatedly. “Cough, cough… How is that possible? Of course, he had a check-up…”
“Why hasn’t it worked then?” she interrogated.
Aaron, being experienced in navigating through turbulent situations, calmly explained, “It’s normal. Even for regular couples engaging in daily activities, pregnancy isn’t guaranteed.”
“Daily activities? Do you know how expensive he is?” Roselin became increasingly frustrated. “Are you trying to scam me? I could afford ten guys with his prices!”
