When Edward woke up again, he discovered that the person beside him was nowhere to be seen. His heart filled with anxiety, and he immediately stood up and called out, “Nanci, where are you?”
Nanci, who was in the restroom, heard his voice and quickly came out, saying, “What’s wrong, Edward? I was in the restroom. Did you have a nightmare?”
Seeing her appear before him, Edward finally calmed down. He ran forward and hugged her tightly, burying his head in her neck. With a hoarse voice, he said, “I had a nightmare where I couldn’t find you. It scared me so much. When I opened my eyes, I couldn’t see you, so I became afraid…”
Nanci, seeing him so vulnerable, stroked his hair tenderly and comforted him in a gentle voice, “I’m here, Edward. Don’t be afraid. I’ve been here all along. Didn’t we have a wedding yesterday? How could I disappear? I sat for too long and wanted to use the restroom. I’m sorry for making you anxious…”
Hearing Nanci apologize, Edward lifted his head, cupped Nanci’s face, and kissed her for a moment before saying, “You did nothing wrong, Nanci. You never need to apologize to me. Everything you do is right in my eyes…”
“We were taught that when we make mistakes, we should be brave enough to admit them. I just made you anxious, so I think that was my fault. I hope you won’t feel upset because I said sorry. Okay?”
“I don’t want you to suffer any grievances, including having you say sorry to me…”
Nanci held his hand and walked back to their seats, saying, “Alright, I’ll take it back, okay? Let’s sit and chat for a while. Will it be a long time before we reach our destination?”
Edward looked out at the sky and shook his head, “I don’t know either.”
“Pfft, then do you know where we’re going?”
“To the place you want to go.”
Nanci asked curiously, “What place do I want to go to? How do you know? I don’t think I was very clear about where I wanted to go.”
Edward smiled and said, “Silly girl, you don’t even know where you want to go. Should I be worried that you won’t like our destination?”
Nanci shook her head and said, “That won’t happen. What I like isn’t the place. It’s the scenery that’s worth recording when you’re by my side. As long as you’re with me, I’ll like it anywhere!”
“Then guess where we’re going. Actually, I heard it from you, so I decided to surprise you with this trip.”
Nanci started recalling in her mind and said, “But I really don’t know where I want to go…”
Edward shook his head helplessly and said, “Do you want me to tell you the answer?” He pointed to his cheek as a hint.
Nanci laughed softly and kissed him, then said with amusement, “Now can you tell me where our destination is?”
“Linmoor.”
Nanci suddenly realized, “Ah, Linmoor! I remember seeing it on TV. What impressed me was that the scenery there is really beautiful, and they say people who go there will be happy for the rest of their lives. When did you hear about this place from me? Did I say it myself? I don’t remember. Did you hear from another woman…”
“There you go again, wrongfully accusing me? I should have recorded what you said…”
Nanci smiled, “Alright, it’s my fault. So when did I tell you about it?”
“It was last night in the room. I told you that as long as you behaved, I would take you wherever you wanted when you woke up today. Then you happily told me you wanted to go to Linmoor, and I agreed. Am I very action-oriented?”
She never expected him to take her casual words to heart-and the very next day, he made good on his promise. Touched, Nanci said, “You’re so good to me. But are you serious? Even if you don’t mind how I look, I can’t bear to see myself looking so unkempt…”
Edward stroked her head and said, “It’s fine. Who am I? I’m your treasure box. You can have whatever you want. Why don’t you try asking? I might just conjure it up.”
Nanci said skeptically, “Well, my request is simple. Just give me a set of decent clothes I can wear outside, not pajamas. Can you conjure that?” She saw Edward’s expressionless face and thought he was unhappy because she was being unreasonable.
Edward stood up, walked to the luggage area, took out a suitcase, and pulled it in front of Nanci, saying, “I got up very early today and packed everything I could think of that you might need. Check it out and see if I missed anything.”
Nanci looked at him in surprise. Snapping out of it, she gave Edward a thumbs up, saying, “Edward, you’re so perfect that you deserve to be called the best husband in the world! Let me find a set of clothes to change into first. Did you pack cosmetics?”
Edward nodded and said, “There should be some. If anything’s missing, we can buy it after we land. I’ll go ask the captain how long until we arrive.”
Nanci nodded and opened the suitcase, then went to the restroom. After she was done and came out, she saw Edward sitting in his seat and smiled, “What did the captain say?”
“He said our journey toward happiness has no end point.”
Nanci sat down beside him and laughed, “Smooth talker! But I like hearing what you say, haha. Why don’t you say a few more things like that?”
“Then I’ll learn a few more lines from Issac.”
Nanci pouted, “Forget it. I want to hear what comes to your mind naturally. Issac’s words are all things he’s said to his girlfriend, so don’t say them to me…”
Edward thought about it and felt she had a point, so he nodded and said, “I may have learned sweet words from Issac, but my feelings for you are real. I love you, Nanci.”
“I love you too. You still haven’t answered me. How long until we arrive?”
“About an hour. We can rest a bit longer. Oh! I think I’ve failed in my duty!”
Nanci wondered what was wrong and asked, “What is it? How have you failed?”
Edward stood up and said, “You’ve been sleeping for so long, and you must be hungry. Let me get you something to eat. Wait for me here.”
Nanci touched her stomach, and only then did she feel a bit hungry. She smiled and said, “Then let’s go together. You haven’t had breakfast either, right? Let’s eat together!”
Edward led Nanci to the dining area and sat down. Nanci ate the pastries on the table and asked, “If I mentioned this yesterday, how did you arrange for a plane in just one night?”
Edward smiled and said, “Your husband is quite capable. I can quickly solve anything related to you. Did you know I have superpowers?”
Nanci leaned close to Edward’s ear and whispered, “Actually, I have superpowers too. Who would have thought we’re the same type of people? What a coincidence. Tell me what your power is.”
“I’m your Aladdin’s lamp, but I can grant you more than just three wishes. I’m your Doraemon, everything you want, I have…”
Nanci smiled and said, “Then guess what superpower I have?”
“What is it? Can you tell me? I’ll keep it a secret.”
Nanci smiled and said, “My superpower is that I super like you!”
Edward smiled happily and said, “Nanci, where did you learn that?”
“Hmph, don’t underestimate me. I can be sweet-talking too, you know.”
Edward licked his lips as if savoring something, and with a mischievous smile said, “Yes, very sweet.”
Nanci watched his every move and said helplessly, “Alright, let’s hurry up and eat something to fill our stomachs. Oh right! Do Olivia, Adrian, and Brian know we’ve gone on a trip? Will they think we’re missing and call the police if they can’t find us?”
“Don’t worry. I told Grandma and Adrian this morning. They’re very supportive of us going out, but as for Brian, I haven’t had time to tell him yet.”
“No problem. I’ll call him after we land. But we didn’t bring Olivia along. Did she…”
“I explained it to Grandma. This is our honeymoon, the trip I promised you. When we get back, we’ll find time to take Grandma on another trip, okay?”
Nanci nodded and said, “Alright, we can take Grandma to the fun places next time. To be honest, I’ve only seen Linmoor on TV. Why did I mention this place to you..”
“Maybe it was a subconscious desire to go there. Anyway, let’s enjoy ourselves. It’s a beautiful place.”
“It’s about time. Let’s get ready to disembark. I’ll go and pack up the suitcase.”
“Let me help you.”
After the two of them packed up, Nanci looked out the window and said with a smile, “Edward, the plane seems to be descending! Look, isn’t it?” Edward took Nanci’s hand, waiting for the plane to land.
A few minutes later, the plane landed smoothly. Edward held Nanci’s hand as they walked off the plane. Nanci smiled and said, “The air is really nice here, don’t you think?”
“Then we’ll stay and play for a few more days.”
“That won’t do. Olivia is still at home waiting for us. We need to go back early to keep her company. We can’t let her think that you don’t care about her after you’re married. When we bring her here next time, we can stay longer.”
“Alright, whatever you say.”
“Then quickly give me my phone. I want to call Brian and the others. If they come looking for me and find that I’ve gone on a trip without saying a word, that wouldn’t be good…” Edward turned on her phone and handed it to her.
