Tilda looked into his eyes. He didn’t seem like joking.
“I’ll never marry you!”
“Then who do you want to marry?” Johnny’s expression changed drastically, turning frighteningly dark. “Tilda, I don’t want to hurt Howard.”
“Don’t touch him!” Tilda blurted out. Seeing the anger in his eyes flare up even more, she quickly added, “This has nothing to do with him. Don’t drag innocent people into this! I never liked him. You’ve already beaten him once. Don’t lay a hand on him again.”
She said she never liked him.
Johnny only needed to hear those words.
He softened his tone, replacing it with a doting and gentle one. “Alright, as you wish! How about I carry you to breakfast?”
“No.” Tilda shook her head vigorously. “Johnny, I want to go back to my parents’ house. Can you take me there?”
“No.”
Johnny answered without hesitation, “When you’re six months along, I’ll go back with you.”
“Today, let’s register our marriage, and then I’ll give you your phone back.”
His attitude truly frightened Tilda.
It was as if he had suddenly become a different person!
“Johnny, can you not be like this?”
Tilda sat on the bed, her eyes reddened with fear.
Johnny reached out and wiped away the tears that threatened to fall. “Be good. As long as you listen to me and don’t leave me, I’ll do anything for you.”
“I don’t want to go to the city hall, and I don’t want to have this baby!”
“I know you’re afraid of pain. Whether it’s a boy or a girl, we’ll only have one child, okay?” Johnny kissed the corner of her eye. “Don’t reject me. I don’t want to go crazy on you.”
He didn’t want to lose control again like he did last night.
The nutritionist came knocking at the door, breaking the silence in the room.
“Mr. Chow, breakfast is ready.”
“Okay.”
Johnny turned his face towards her and smiled gently. “Shall I carry you, or will you walk yourself?”
“I’ll walk myself.”
Tilda conceded.
She knew she couldn’t anger Johnny now. It wasn’t a wise choice.
After all, he would eventually have to leave for work or deal with his parents! And her own parents would notice her disappearance and come looking for her.
He couldn’t keep her for long.
Johnny and Tilda arrived at the dining room. Just as they sat down, his phone rang.
Tilda instinctively glanced over, and Johnny generously showed her the caller ID.
“It’s Caroline,” he said straightforwardly.
Johnny answered the call and put Caroline on speakerphone.
Caroline’s hysterical voice immediately came through from the other side. “Johnny, is it you? Did you have all my parents’ hotels shut down?!”
“Yes,” he admitted without expression.
“And did you go after Randall?! He had his limbs broken and is now facing amputation. His family’s bank accounts were frozen overnight. They can’t even access a single cent! Do you want him dead?”
Johnny chuckled, leaning back in his chair with a touch of laziness and mischief.
“He said that aside from having money, I have no other skills. I just want him to see what I’m capable of.”
“You are ruthless! Absolutely insane!”
“When you and he conspired against me, did you not consider the consequences?” Johnny interlaced his fingers together, his gaze falling on Tilda’s shocked face. “You almost made me lose my child. This is just a small punishment.”
