Tessy’s POV
I took a long walk thinking about everything over and over again, what am I missing here? I know Anthony told me the truth about it but why did my father lie to me? Why? Was I not worthy of the truth? What exactly is he hiding from me? This is crazy I must say, I never knew a day like this would come when I become a detective over my family issues.
My phone rang immediately, it was a call from Eddy, “Hey, where are you? Have you forgotten my mom invited you over for lunch?”
Oops, I probably must have forgotten all about it, about to say something over the phone, I got a text from Anthony saying, “Come to me babydoll.” Damn it!! Why does it have to be the same time as the lunch? What do I do now?
“Hello, are you there with me?” He asked and I decided to start coughing, “I am sorry!! I don’t think I will be able to make it, I suddenly got cold, I feel so sick!!” I changed my voice and he didn’t sound disappointed instead he was so worried about me, “Oh no, should I take you to the hospital?”
“No need, I will be fine, just apologize to your mother, and I will make it up to her,” I said.
“Mom will understand, you don’t need to worry at all, just promise me you will watch over your health carefully and if you need me around, I am just a DM from you.”
“Thank you so much, Eddy, I really appreciate it, I need to rest now, I am feeling weak,” I said still coughing and he bid goodbye over the phone before I finally ended the call, that was easy to do, now what’s next? I need to get all set for Anthony.
“I will be in your Vila soon Daddy!!” I replied to his text and I had to turn round heading home to change my outfit.
The last time was fun and I know each moment with him unlocked a new set of fun and happiness as well.
I got to my place in no time and brought out a silver dress he got for me the day we went shopping, I rushed to that bathroom, and in less than five minutes I was out already getting set to leave the house and hang out with him properly.
I stopped a cab and entered telling you him where I was heading to. It was a silent drive but my mom’s call had ruined it. “Hey, Mom!”
“Tessy! How are you feeling? Why don’t you go to the hospital? I am really worried.” She panicked and it was clear Eddy must have communicated with my mom. I took a deep breath saying, “I will be fine Mom, you don’t need to worry too much about me.”
“You are so stubborn, why don’t you let Eddy take care of you after all it’s his right!” I coughed loudly saying, “I need to rest mom, bye for now!” I ended the call with that excuse.
I arrived at my destination and out of excitement I rushed into his Vila, “Miss me!” I jumped on his body immediately and we engaged in a deep kiss.

“But I..” I tried to explain why I suggested that but instead, he shut me out saying, “What we have is for our benefit, you are my nephew’s fiance.”
“I know that already, you don’t have to remind me but this is a matter of the heart you know,” I added and he got off the bed wearing his outfit, is he leaving? Come on, we are just starting to have a conversation here, what is his problem anyway?
My phone rang and it was Elizabeth, “Excuse me, I need to get this.” I answered her call, “Elizabeth can we talk later? I’m in the middle of a discussion right now.”
“Please Tessy, it’s really important I talk to you.”
“Not now please.” I ended the call and focused on him.
I thought about the whole thing, does this mean I am just dating myself? I thought he also loved me in return or am I overthinking this again?
“Do you even love me sincerely at all or you were just after my body?”
“Like I told you, I don’t commit to someone, I took care of you, and made you feel special, isn’t that what you want?”
“But I want more.”
“Listen, my nephew really has feelings for you and our relationship must never be known by people out there, I came back to end things and cut tiles with everything here in New York.”
Immediately he said these words I felt a pain in my heart like I was about to have a heart attack, why on earth did I use the sentence of saying we should tell my dad about us, I shouldn’t have done that at all, I guess I pushed him to the wall.
“I’m sorry, let’s keep our affair a secret and we won’t tell anyone, I just don’t want to lose you okay!” I hugged him but he took my hands off saying, “You need to see reality, everything was just fun okay? Do you think I will want to marry you?”
“But???”
“Listen babydoll, whatever feelings you thought you have had for me is probably called Lust, this is not love at all, so let go of it and leave my Vila now, never for you to return.” His eyes became so cold immediately he said this, I was about to have a cardiac arrest.
No, I can’t lose him now. I want him alone and no one else at all.

“I am not leaving, I am going to stay okay, let’s forget we had this discussion and just make love.” I gave my body to him again but he rejected me, “Snap out from your fantasy lust and face reality, we don’t stand a chance together, you are my best friend’s daughter, focus on my nephew and live a better life.” He checked his wristwatch in the process and said to me, “It’s time to leave.”
“But it’s late, at least let me stay for the night.” I tried to find ways to trick him so he could let me stay, I believe one more night with him, he will desire me and not want me out. I know I am stupid to be begging him but I don’t think I can be okay without him present in my life.
“One of my drivers will ensure you get home safely.” He turned me around and forced me out of his Vila.
“Good evening Miss Tessy, I will be driving you home safe, please after you!” The driver said as if it was all programmed already, is this really happening to me? I staggered.
