Chapter 37
Tessy’s POV
I returned to my room, my mind racing with unanswered questions. The argument between Dad and Anthony replayed in my head, fueling my frustration. What could be happening for real?
A knot formed in my stomach as I thought about my birthday celebration. Was it all a facade? Did they pretend to get along? The uncertainty gnawed at me.
If two close friends fight, they should have settled by now right?
I rested on my bed, feeling like a child again, ignored and dismissed. Why did no one take me seriously? I’m an adult now, capable of handling the truth. But every time I sought answers, they both shot me out saying it was an old history.
My emotions swirled a toxic mix of anger, confusion, and hurt. I felt like I was drowning in a sea of secrets.
Just then, Mom walked in, interrupting my world. “Eddy and his mom are here.”
I forced a smile, pretending to be okay. “Okay,” I muttered, my voice barely audible.
Mom’s expectant gaze made me feel guilty. “Let’s go together.” I nodded, mechanically standing up.
As we walked out of my room, I wore a fake smile on my face.
“Tessy, are you feeling alright?”
“Yes, mom..” I smiled again.
As I entered the dining room, Eddy and his mother stood out, radiating elegance. Eddy’s crisp suit and bright smile seemed almost too perfect. His mother’s warm smile and graceful demeanor put me at ease, but my attention was drawn to Dad.
He stood up, a forced smile plastered on his face, and welcomed me with open arms. I saw right through it the tension in his shoulders, the strain in his eyes. He was pretending, and it broke my heart, I deserve to know what exactly is going on.
We took our seats, Mom’s gentle voice broke the silence as she said a word of prayer. I bowed my head, feeling like a hypocrite. How could we sit here, pretending everything was fine when it wasn’t?
As Mom finished praying, the room fell silent again. Eddy’s mother spoke up, her voice warm and genuine. “Tessy, you look lovely tonight.”
I forced a smile, feeling like I was living a lie. “Thank you so much ma’am,” I said to her with a brief smile
“I thought we agreed that you can call me mom?” She reminded me of our last conversation, and immediately I apologized and called her mom, my mom sounded jealous, at least everyone laughed genuinely over this topic.
Dad cleared his throat, stopping the conversation, his voice overly cheerful. “Let’s dig in, shall we?”
“Yes, we shall,” I replied to dad and he smiled at me.
The clinking of utensils and polite conversation filled the room, but I couldn’t shake off the feeling of unease. Anthony’s absence hung over me like a dark cloud.
Why did Anthony leave? What’s causing their argument? The questions swirled in my mind, refusing to let me focus on the present.
We continued eating, the conversation flowing smoothly. Eddy reached out to add more meat to my plate.
“Thank you, Eddy, but you don’t have to,” I said politely.
“Nonsense, Tessy, you need to eat well,” Eddy replied, smiling.
Mom chimed in, “You’re lucky to have a gentleman like him, Tessy, a hardworking man with no blame or wrong history.”
I felt a pang of irritation. What did she mean by that? Wasn’t I capable of taking care of myself?
“I’m fine, really,” I insisted, trying to brush it off.
But Eddy persisted, serving me another slice. “I want to make sure you’re well taken care of.”
Dad joined in, “That’s the kind of man we want for you, Tessy. Someone who’ll provide and care for you and you should do the same, don’t be like some ladies who never appreciate things.”
I felt trapped like my life was being planned out without my permission. My mom made a loud sound with her spoon and fork, what is going on? She apologized with a soft tone.
“No problem, our children’s engagement is fast approaching,” Eddy’s mother said, smiling. “We’ll make it a beautiful ceremony.” My mom joined
I need some air right now, can’t they allow me to express myself a little but who am I to leave here? Dinner will soon be over anyway, I can still bear it.
Dinner ended, and Eddy’s mom thanked my family, her warm smile was genuine. My parents left with Eddy’s mom to discuss after she bid goodbye to me, I felt a growing sense of unease. Before I knew it, I was alone with Eddy in my room, the door clicking shut behind us.
“Thanks for dinner,” Eddy said, his eyes locked on mine, his voice low and husky.
“Enough with the thanks,” I replied, trying to sound casual, but my heart raced with anticipation.
Eddy’s face was inches from mine, and his breath whispered against my skin. “I miss you, Tessy.”
“Why?” I asked, my voice barely audible, is he crazy? What is he missing me for?
Eddy’s lips brushed against mineq. I didn’t expect this. His hands roamed my body, and I felt myself melting into his touch. But something was off.
Anthony’s face flashed in my mind, and my senses returned.”You belong to me babydoll!!” Anthony’s words kept replaying in my head, how he makes my legs shiver, I still want his touch like right now and not with Eddy.
“Eddy, stop,” I pleaded, pushing him away, my hands against his chest.
But he seized my hands, his fingers tracing circles on my skin. I felt a surge of pleasure, my traitorous body responding.
“Stay calm,” he whispered, his lips against my ear. “We’re going to do this anyway. Let’s just let it flow.” This wasn’t right, what kind of man is Eddy? I thought he was nice?
“No, Eddy,” I protested, trying to free myself but he continued, his touch igniting a fire within me. I moaned, despite I didn’t want him. I couldn’t move because he was all over me, he slid his fingers through my dress, and my body reacted in pleasure.
“Eddy, please,” I begged, my voice trembling.
But he just smiled, his eyes burning with desire. His hands explored my body, leaving trails of heat as he went faster, making me crave for Anthony right away.
I knew I had to escape.
“Eddy, stop!” he wouldn’t listen, his mouth claiming mine again and I could feel the hardness of his dick, yes my body needs a good f**k but definitely not him, I want Anthony.
Panic set in, my heart racing. I had to get away but why wouldn’t he listen to me?
