Chapter 80: Sell the Items

Book:It All Turns Out Great Published:2025-4-9

Why Iris?
Was it just because of her innocent image?
Men these days must be blind… Can’t they see that Iris’s innocent act is just a facade?
“Mr. Barber, do you think this bag looks good?” Brianna suddenly asked Alexander with a smile.
Iris frowned, looking at Brianna.
Although they were indeed fair-weather friends.
But hadn’t they always maintained their superficial friendship?
What was she doing now?
Was she trying to embarrass her in public?
Alexander glanced at the bag and said, “It’s nice.”
Brianna smiled and said, “I think so too… You know, this bag was a Valentine’s Day gift from Ethan to Iris.”
Alexander glanced at Iris.
Iris remained silent.
She didn’t feel guilty when facing Alexander.
She hadn’t done anything wrong to him.
When Alexander pursued her, he knew she was Ethan’s fiancee.
She had indeed wronged Ethan, but she had a clear conscience with Alexander.
“Then why is it in your hands?” Alexander asked Brianna.
Brianna looked at Iris and then smiled at Alexander, “Because… Iris didn’t want to be reminded of Ethan every time she saw this limited edition bag, so she sold it to me.”
Alexander nodded, “I see.”
Brianna smirked.
Alexander must have minded.
After all, Iris’s ex-fiance was Ethan.
In Riverton, no one could ignore Ethan’s presence.
Alexander looked at Iris and said gently, “It’s good that you sold it… Sell everything he gave you. I’ll buy you new ones. Whatever you like, I’ll get it for you.”
Was Alexander really that generous?
Wasn’t he even a bit angry or jealous?
Iris saw the displeased faces of several women and smiled gently at Alexander, nodding, “Hmm… As long as it’s from you, I like it.”
Alexander smiled back, “Whatever you like, I’ll get it for you.”
They were showing off their love.
Originally… today’s plan was to embarrass Iris.
In the past, she was high and mighty, and they had to flatter her. And Iris… often flaunted her status as Ethan’s fiancee, making them feel envious.
They thought they could humiliate Iris now.
But now…
Iris looked at the women, smiling slightly. They wanted to see her embarrassed…
Dream on!
Alexander looked at Iris… From the moment he arrived and saw Iris with the women, he knew why Iris had invited him out.
She wanted to show off.
To show that even if Ethan didn’t want her anymore, she still had another excellent boyfriend.
So, he played along with Iris.
Because… Iris was still useful to him.
Iris parted ways with her fair-weather friends.
“Where are we having dinner tonight?” Alexander asked Iris.
Iris smiled and said, “I have to go home for dinner tonight. Mom said we have important guests.”
Alexander nodded.
Iris kissed Alexander on the lips and said, “Alright, I’ll spend time with you tomorrow.”
Alexander nodded, “Okay.”
After parting with Alexander, Iris messaged Clara: Clara, where are you?
She lied to Alexander; there were no important guests at home tonight.
She needed to find Clara tonight.
She wanted to ask Clara why she lied to her.
She said she had returned those things to Ethan. Why were they still on a second-hand platform?
She didn’t believe Ethan sold them.
A man of Ethan’s stature wouldn’t sell second-hand items.
Clara was in class when she received Iris’s message. She replied quietly under the desk: In class.
Iris: When does school end?
Clara: Four-thirty.
Iris: I’ll wait for you at the school gate at four-thirty.
Clara: Okay.
After that, Clara couldn’t focus in class.
Honestly, she was very afraid of her sister finding her now.
If her sister couldn’t say it over WhatsApp or on the phone and had to come to school, it must be about Ethan…
Ever since she married Ethan, every time her sister sought her out, it was because of Ethan.
She just didn’t understand.
Why couldn’t her sister let go of Ethan?
If she couldn’t let go of Ethan and still had feelings for him, why did she betray him in the first place?
Sigh…

After school, Clara walked to the school gate and saw Iris waiting nearby. She walked over and said, “Sis.”
Iris looked at Clara and said, “Let’s find a place to sit.”
Clara hesitated but agreed, “Okay.”
There were many cafes and tea shops near the school.
The sisters found a cafe and sat down, ordering coffee.
“Sis…” Clara looked at Iris and asked, “What’s the matter?”
Iris looked at Clara and asked, “Clara, would you lie to me?”
Although she didn’t know what her sister wanted to say, she had an uneasy feeling.
In the past, she would never lie to her sister.
But now… she had already lied to her sister once.
For example… selling her sister’s things.
Clara’s silence made Iris understand.
Clara had lied to her.
What had Clara lied about?
It must be related to Ethan.
“Clara, did you really return the things Ethan gave me?” Iris asked directly.
A guilty look flashed across Clara’s face.
Why was her sister asking this?
Did she know?
Did she know about selling the items on the second-hand platform?
“Yes.” Clara nodded reluctantly.
Iris looked at Clara with disappointment and said sadly, “Clara, you’re still lying to me. If you returned the items to Ethan, why are they on a second-hand platform?”
Clara looked at Iris in surprise.
Oh no!
How did her sister know about this?
Only she and Ethan knew about it. How did her sister find out?
Did Ethan tell her?
Impossible.
Ethan and her sister… shouldn’t have any contact now, right?
“Clara… Why did you do this? I trusted you. That’s why I gave you the items to return to Ethan. But you sold them… Clara, why? Were you afraid that seeing those items would remind him of our past?” Iris said sadly.
She hadn’t thought of it that way at all.
“Clara, are you guarding against me now? Worried that I might rekindle my relationship with Ethan?” Iris asked.
Clara shook her head, “No…”
Ethan would never rekindle his relationship with her sister.
“Then why are you guarding against me? Why didn’t you return the items to Ethan but sold them instead?” Iris asked angrily and sadly.
She looked at Iris and decided to tell the truth.
“Sis, I really did return those items to Ethan. But… Ethan said to throw them away,” Clara said.
“What?” Iris was stunned and looked at Clara in surprise.
Clara continued, “Ethan said to throw them away. But those items… were new and expensive… I couldn’t bear to throw them away. So I asked Ethan if I could sell them… He said it was up to me. So I put them on the second-hand platform.”
She didn’t think she did anything wrong.
Since her sister returned the items to Ethan, they were his. If he said she could sell them… then she sold them.
Iris didn’t believe it.
How could Ethan be so heartless?
How could he say to throw those items away and allow Clara to sell them on a second-hand platform?
Impossible.
Impossible.
“Really?” Iris asked unwillingly.
Clara nodded, “Really. If you don’t believe me… you can ask Ethan.”
After all, what she said was true. She wasn’t afraid of her sister verifying it with Ethan.
Iris looked at Clara.
Clara was her sister. For twenty years, she had watched Clara grow up. She cared for and loved her sister deeply… so she understood her sister. She could tell that Clara wasn’t lying.
So… it was true.
Ethan really wanted to throw those items away and agreed to sell them on a second-hand platform.
Iris’s eyes reddened.
How could he do this?
