Belle glanced at Ella and the others, who received her signal and began to persuade Clara. “Clara, come on. We haven’t gone singing together in a long time.”
“Yes, Clara, it’s still early. There’s nothing to do at home anyway.”
Clara was already eager to go and looked at Ethan expectantly. “Honey, we…”
Ethan interrupted Clara. “We have something to do at home.”
Clara blinked, puzzled. What could they possibly have to do at home?
There was nothing planned for them at home.
Ethan stood up, took Clara’s hand, and said to everyone, “We’re leaving now. Have fun.”
He pulled Clara up and left.
Ethan led Clara out of the restaurant.
After walking a few steps, Ethan stopped.
Clara looked at Ethan, wondering why he had stopped.
“Let’s go,” Ethan said, pulling Clara along.
“Where to?” Clara asked.
“The mall,” Ethan replied.
She looked at Ethan, feeling that he didn’t seem like the type to go shopping.
Ethan going shopping himself? Wasn’t everything he wanted usually delivered directly to his home?
He said they had something to do tonight? Was this it? Shopping?
Ethan held Clara’s hand as they walked toward the mall.
Clara blushed and wanted to pull her hand back but didn’t dare to.
What if he got angry?
Ethan took Clara to the mall.
“What do you want to buy?” Clara asked curiously.
Ethan didn’t answer and led Clara to the jewelry section on the first floor.
A sales associate saw them and warmly welcomed them. “Sir, madam, how can I assist you?”
While speaking, she discreetly sized up Ethan and Clara.
A handsome man and a beautiful woman, both with excellent looks and wearing designer clothes.
People like this wouldn’t be buying cheap items worth just a few thousand dollars.
“Diamond rings,” Ethan said.
Clara was stunned for a moment, looking at Ethan in surprise. Ethan… wanted to buy her a diamond ring?
Clara instinctively looked at her hand. Her fingers were bare. The diamond ring she wore on their wedding day was the one Ethan had previously given her sister. She only wore it on the wedding day and then took it off, keeping it in a box ever since.
“Alright,” the sales associate said enthusiastically. “What size are you looking for?”
“Do you have ten-carat rings?” Ethan asked.
The sales associate smiled. “Yes, we do.”
“Let’s take a look,” Ethan said.
The sales associate smiled and said, “Please follow me to our VIP lounge. I’ll bring it right over.”
Ethan nodded and followed the sales associate to the VIP lounge with Clara. The sales associate poured them some water, and soon someone arrived with a box, opening it in front of Ethan and Clara.
A ten-carat diamond ring.
As soon as the box was opened, Clara’s eyes lit up.
It was really big and shiny.
Girls seemed to have a natural attraction to sparkly things.
“Madam…” The sales associate began enthusiastically introducing the diamond ring to Clara, explaining its origin, cut, and other details.
Clara understood some of it. As a daughter of a wealthy family, even though she wasn’t favored by her family, they still ensured she received proper training in areas like jewelry appreciation since she was young.
“Madam, please try it on,” the sales associate said, helping Clara put on the ring.
Clara extended her hand and looked at it. Her slender, fair fingers adorned with the sparkling diamond ring looked beautiful.
“Do you like it?” Ethan asked.
How should she answer that?
If she said she liked it, would Ethan buy it for her?
Based on her knowledge of diamonds, this brand’s ten-carat diamond ring would cost at least ten million dollars.
Would he really buy such an expensive item for her?
“It’s alright,” Clara said modestly.
In truth, she really liked it.
Of course, if Ethan wanted to buy it for her, she would be very happy.
Ethan looked at Clara and smiled gently.
The little girl clearly liked it but pretended to be modest.
“If it’s just alright, let’s keep looking. Maybe we’ll find something you like more,” Ethan said.
What?
Not buying it?
The cooked duck just flew away right in front of her?
Clara stared blankly at Ethan.
Then she looked at the shiny diamond ring on her finger.
Suppressing her heartache, she slowly tried to take off the ring.
Ethan noticed Clara’s heartache and smirked. He asked the sales associate, “Do you have pink diamonds?”
He didn’t particularly like this diamond ring.
He thought pink would suit Clara better since she was so delicate and sweet.
The sales associate smiled. “Yes, we do. However, we don’t have any as large as this one. The largest pink diamond we currently have is eight carats. If you need a larger one, we’ll have to order it from our headquarters, which could take about a week.”
A week?
What if Ethan changed his mind in a week?
Buying a diamond ring was probably just a whim for Ethan.
If Jason hadn’t invited Ethan out for dinner today, they wouldn’t have come to the mall, and he wouldn’t be buying her a diamond ring now.
What if he decided not to buy it in a week?
Clara straightened her back and said softly, “Eight carats is already very large. I don’t like anything too flashy.”
Ethan looked at Clara and asked, “Really?”
Clara nodded. “Yes.”
Ethan told the sales associate, “Bring the eight-carat pink diamond.”
The sales associate went to get it.
Clara thought to herself that this time she couldn’t be modest. She had to show that she really liked it so that Ethan would have no choice but to buy it for her.
She couldn’t pretend to be modest again.
What if she did and Ethan decided not to buy it again?
That would be a total loss.
Soon, the sales associate returned with the pink diamond.
When Clara saw the pink diamond, her eyes sparkled with amazement.
It was really beautiful.
Women naturally had no resistance to shiny jewelry or pink things.
A pink diamond.
Pink and sparkly-any woman would be deeply attracted to it.
The sales associate helped Clara put on the ring.
It was truly beautiful.
Even more beautiful than the ten-carat diamond from earlier.
“Do you like it?” Ethan asked.
This time, Clara didn’t pretend to be modest. She nodded honestly and said happily, “I like it. It’s really beautiful.”
“Not waiting for a larger one?” Ethan asked.
Clara replied, “It’s too big and too flashy. This one is just right.”
Ethan glanced at Clara.
She suddenly felt embarrassed.
Was she being too obvious?
Ethan told the sales associate, “We’ll take this one.”
The sales associate smiled warmly. “Alright.”
Clara looked at Ethan in surprise.
He… bought it?
She had seen the price earlier-this pink diamond cost eighteen million dollars.
Such an expensive ring, and Ethan bought it so easily?
Just like that… bought it?
She felt a sense of unreality.
Did Ethan really buy such an expensive ring for her so easily?
Why couldn’t she believe it?
Didn’t Ethan marry her as a tool for revenge against her sister and the Everett family?
Would a normal person buy such an expensive ring for a tool of revenge?
Or… was this part of Ethan’s scheme?
Did he know women loved jewelry and bought such an expensive ring to win her over? Once she fell for him, if he abandoned her one day, she’d be heartbroken?
It wasn’t until the sales associate returned with his black card that Clara felt the reality of Ethan buying such an expensive ring for her sink in.
Clara looked at Ethan.
Forget it.
Don’t overthink it.
Even if Ethan wanted revenge on her in the future, that was something to worry about later. For now, at this moment, Ethan had bought her a big pink diamond ring.
On the surface, she remained calm but inside she was so happy that she wanted to rush over and kiss him hard.
With this big pink diamond ring, even if Ethan did seek revenge on her later or divorced her and kicked her out of the Logan family, she wouldn’t be too destitute. Selling this big pink diamond would be enough for her to live on.
