“I’ll find out sooner or later,” Lily approached her. “Don’t let me catch you slipping up in the next month.”
Callie was uninterested. She had long since tired of wasting time with such competitive people, but unfortunately, they existed everywhere.
Meanwhile, Nick had already entered the hotel hosting the event. The staff explained, “Mr. Patel is indeed here, but he has already stated that he is on a private trip and will not be seeing guests.”
Nick frowned. “ST just won the championship, bringing huge returns to his company. Why wouldn’t he want to see me?”
The staff remained patient. “It’s a private trip. Perhaps after he returns home, a meeting can be arranged to discuss next quarter’s cooperation.”
Nick was still displeased. He had great confidence in his enterprises and a bit of pride, making it hard to accept being turned away.
But his success was also due to some patience. He nodded and handed over an invitation. “Please pass this to Mr. Patel. The ST home stadium has been established in Ylosea. If he has time, he can visit anytime to watch a game.”
The staff agreed.
Meanwhile, Grape was led into the garden behind the venue. It was indeed large and picturesque, with many participants gathered there.
“Captain, you seem distracted. Is something wrong?” a team member asked worriedly.
Nick’s words lingered in his mind, but Malakai had no authority over team personnel changes. He shook his head, feeling concerned.
Just then, Grape walked unsteadily on the lawn, her small legs wobbling. “Malakai, have some candy. My mom says eating candy makes you happy.”
She placed a piece of candy in his hand, Grape-flavored.
Malakai finally smiled and pinched Grape’s cheek. “Good girl, thank you, Grape.”
These boys were still young themselves and inexperienced with children. Fortunately, Grape was well-behaved, sitting quietly for over an hour without complaining of feeling bored.
She finally seemed unable to hold it any longer and tugged on Malakai’s finger. “I need to pee.”
Malakai froze for a moment, then looked towards the women’s restroom and exchanged glances with his teammates.
If a child needs to use the bathroom… she should go to the women’s restroom… but they were all men.
Grape’s small eyebrows furrowed tightly. “I can’t hold it much longer.”
“Damn,” a teammate quickly picked her up, and the group rushed towards the women’s restroom. “Damn, hold on, Grape.”
Malakai followed closely behind. “Let’s find a lady to take her. A waitress? Staff?”
Grape shouted, “I can’t hold it anymore!”
They reached the women’s restroom entrance, but none of them dared to enter, looking at each other in dismay.
Aliyah had been staying at the hotel for the past few days out of boredom. Hearing about the event, she decided to check it out and turned a corner to witness this comical scene.
“You guys…” Aliyah stepped forward, thinking she might be mistaken. “Are you ST team members?”
The boys holding a little girl looked too strange.
They didn’t recognize her but saw that she recognized them and quickly nodded. “Are you a fan? You must be!”
Desperately wanting an answer, Aliyah pressed her lips together. “… Sort of.”
“Great!” They hurriedly handed Grape over to Aliyah. “Please take her to the bathroom!”
Aliyah looked down and met the child’s eyes. Both of them lit up.
“Grape?”
“Swear-word Miss!”
