Amelia was sitting beside, feeding Asher, and she smiled, “Isabella was up late last night practicing how to cook this braised pork ribs. She made it six or seven times, and this plate is the most successful. Because it sat in the fridge for most of the night and was reheated in the microwave, the taste is a little off.”
After Amelia finished, she added, “Isabella is starting to look more and more like a wife now.”
“Oh, fine.” Andrew chuckled softly, lightly squeezing Isabella’s hand.
Isabella blushed slightly, shyly looking down. She picked up her fork and placed some vegetables into Andrew’s bowl, saying, “Andrew, eat quickly, or it’ll get cold.”
They had a joyful meal together.
After dinner, Andrew was showering in the bathroom, and Isabella waited outside, occasionally asking, “Andrew, are you done showering?” After all, he had just been discharged from the hospital, and she was a bit anxious about him showering alone.
The response to her question was a loud splash as the door opened. Andrew appeared at the bathroom door, bare-chested, with only a large bath towel wrapped around his waist.
“Isabella, if you’re so worried, why don’t you join me in the shower?” Andrew’s lips curved into a slightly teasing smile.
“Hmph, you wish.” Isabella scolded him playfully, rolling up her sleeves to tidy up in the bathroom. However, as she passed by him, Andrew suddenly hugged her tightly from behind.
“Isabella, have you missed me?” Andrew’s lips brushed against Isabella’s sensitive ear, his warm breath and husky voice sending shivers down her spine.
“I’ve been watching over you in the hospital every day, never taking my eyes off you. What more could I miss?” Isabella smiled with a hint of helplessness.
“I’ve missed you so much, it’s driving me crazy.” Andrew’s warm hand rubbed gently between her slender waist, his touch gentle yet firm, causing Isabella to tremble involuntarily.
“Andrew, stop teasing, okay? You need to take your medication. I’ll go downstairs and get it for you.” She struggled lightly, freeing his hands from around her waist.
Isabella grabbed a blue-striped shirt from the closet and threw it to him, then turned to go downstairs to fetch his medication.
As Isabella reached for the door handle to leave, a strong arm suddenly pressed against the door panel. The door slammed shut with a resounding bang under the force.
“Andrew! What are you…” She turned around to glare at him, but her words were cut off as his scorching kiss silenced her.
Her back pressed against the door, his kiss left her dizzy, and her hands instinctively wrapped around his neck.
When the kiss finally ended, Isabella’s cheeks were flushed red. She looked at him with watery eyes and a coy tone, “Have you kissed enough?”
“Not yet,” Andrew replied, lowering his head to lightly peck her slightly raised red lips again, teasingly adding, “Never enough.”
Isabella giggled coyly, hands pressed against his chest, gently pushing him away. “Andrew, could you please let me go first? I need to get your medicine.”
But he continued to hold onto her, their fingers entwined. His lips brushed against her ear, kissing the delicate skin of her neck, his voice husky and soft, “Isabella, you are my medicine.”
“Smooth talker,” Isabella’s neck tickled, making her laugh.
“It’s the truth,” Andrew looked at her, smiling softly, his expression serious despite his light tone.
“Before I fell into a coma, I kept thinking. I had to get better quickly, or else you would cry. I don’t want to see you cry. I can’t have surgery either; Samuel said brain surgery might have consequences, even memory loss. I can’t forget you.”
“Okay,” Isabella smiled, biting her lip, her golden eyes sparkling with a hint of tears.
“And you?” Andrew asked, “Was it scary for you when I was unconscious for those days?”
Isabella shook her head, “I believe in you. I knew you would be fine.”
“Well, this time you behaved very well,” Andrew chuckled lightly as he spoke. As he talked, his hand had already found its way to unzip the back of her dress.
Isabella felt a sudden chill on her back, exclaiming in surprise. Before she could react, his kiss had descended upon her again.
She was enveloped in his kisses, her mind blank, and her hand that had been against his chest slowly slipped away… Just as their bodies were about to press together, footsteps suddenly echoed down the corridor outside, followed by a knocking sound on the door against which Isabella leaned.
The intimacy inside was completely shattered by the knocking sound.
“Daddy, Mommy, Asher wants to sleep!” Asher’s childish voice rang from outside the door.
After calling out several times, the bedroom door finally opened.
Inside the room, Andrew stood in his shirt, with half of the buttons undone, his expression so dark it could almost rain.
Isabella suppressed a laugh, hanging her head as she looked at her son.
Asher, dressed in cartoon pajamas, held a small brown teddy bear in his arms, looking up at her with his small face. “Mommy, hug.”
Isabella lifted the child from the floor, turning to walk towards the room. “Asher, do you want to sleep with Mommy?”
“Yes! Asher wants to sleep with Mommy.” The little guy stretched out his chubby arms and hugged Isabella’s neck.
Mother and son lay down on the big bed, Asher nestled in his mother’s soft embrace, smiling with curved eyebrows and eyes.
Andrew was left at the door, thinking to himself: he also wanted to hold his wife and sleep together.
“Daddy, Daddy, sleep together.” Asher shook his chubby hands and shouted.
Andrew took a step forward, walked to the bedside, and lay down next to Isabella.
Isabella flipped through a picture book. Just as she finished telling a story, Asher yawned and soon fell asleep.
“Is he asleep?” Andrew asked in a low voice.
“Yeah.” Isabella nodded. Just as she moved her body, Andrew embraced her from behind.
“Andrew, stop fooling around, you’ll wake Asher up.” Isabella squirmed in his arms.
“He’s sleeping soundly, keep your voice down.” Andrew said, then swiftly rolled over and pressed her underneath.
Isabella: “…”
She wanted to find a crack to crawl into and disappear.
Although Andrew was unrestrained, with a child sleeping nearby, they couldn’t fully indulge.
Finally, enduring until nightfall, as soon as Amelia took Asher into the children’s room, Andrew dragged Isabella into the bedroom.
The fire of desire burned from the bathroom to the bedroom, almost lasting until dawn. Exhausted, Isabella finally couldn’t resist anymore, and Andrew let her go.
Isabella leaned weakly against his chest, thinking to herself: Could Andrew be faking illness? His energy was so good right after recovering from a serious illness.
After tossing and turning all night, the next morning, Andrew was still energetic and went to work as usual.
“Andrew, up so early?” Isabella rubbed her eyes and sat up from bed, her long golden hair disheveled, looking lazy and cute.
Andrew had already put on his shirt, his blue eyes filled with a smile. He leaned down and kissed her cheek. “There’s a bidding meeting this morning, a big project. I have to be there in person.”
“Okay.” Isabella nodded, barefoot, she stepped on the solid wood floor and walked to the adjacent dressing room, picking out a handmade black suit, swaying it in front of him.
“Andrew, how about this outfit today?”
“Good.” Andrew nodded with a gentle smile. He didn’t have much preference for what to wear.
Andrew put on the suit, and Isabella walked up to him attentively, tiptoed, and earnestly tied his tie for him. Then, they went downstairs together.
Before leaving, the two lingered at the door in a passionate kiss.
“Don’t want to leave me?” Andrew asked with a low chuckle.
“Husband, come back early. Both me and your son will be waiting at home for you.” Isabella hugged his waist, speaking softly.
“Mm, got it.” Andrew smiled in response.
“Also, don’t forget to take your medicine, eat on time, take care of yourself. If you have a headache, go to the hospital promptly…” Isabella kept nagging.
“I know, you little chatterbox.” Andrew indulgently reached out, lightly flicking her nose with his fingertip, then picked up his briefcase and left.
