Isabella received a call from David. After patiently listening to his ramblings, she found it laughable.
Victoria, being so clever, must have figured out that Isabella was behind the whole thing, yet she had David ask her to get Andrew to intervene. Isabella couldn’t figure out what Victoria was thinking.
She casually responded to David and it was clear that David wasn’t genuinely concerned about Victoria’s well-being. To him, his daughter was just a pawn; once discarded, she had no value.
David was clearly more concerned about getting close to Mr. Andrew.
“Isabella, just do your best for your sister. And please slelect a time to bring Mr. Andrew home for dinner. You’re dating and hiding it, but your father isn’t narrow-minded. I want to know more about him so I can feel comfortable entrusting you to him.” David said.
Isabella almost got goosebumps from David’s words. After mumbling some responses, she quickly hung up the phone.
In David’s eyes, there was only self-interest, not familial love. Caleb was cold-hearted and would not risk trouble for a woman.
Isabella was curious about how Victoria would manage this time. Yet, Victoria always managed to surprise her.
A week later, Victoria was acquitted. Moreover, under Robert’s arrangements, Moonlit Art Inc. held a press conference to clarify that Victoria had not been involved with drugs and had only been called by the police to assist in an investigation. They also publicly released her blood test results.
Robert had managed Moonlit Art Inc. for many years and had some tricks up his sleeve. By holding a press conference amidst the controversy, he shifted Victoria’s image from a drug dealer to a hero assisting the police.
Though Victoria’s image might be somewhat affected and she might disappear from the screens for a while, managing to emerge unscathed from this scandal was no small feat.
Victoria’s release left Isabella feeling down.
At night, she lay with her head on Andrew’s lap, playinging her fingers in frustration.
“How do you think Victoria managed to get out of this?” she asked.
Andrew was sitting at the head of the bed reading a book, flipping the pages with a soft sound. Hearing her question, he chuckled and reminded her, “Only the four major families have the ability to rescue someone in such a situation.”
“Do you mean Caleb helped her?” Isabella asked, incredulous.
Among the four major families, Taylor family and Green family had no connection with Victoria. Andrew wouldn’t interfere without reason, leaving only Caleb.
However, from what Isabella knew, Caleb was not the kind of man to be blindly devoted to a woman. She couldn’t figure out why he would risk trouble to help Victoria.
“Caleb is the type to act only when there’s a benefit. Victoria must have something that could persuade him,” Andrew said, putting down his book, sounding indifferent.
Isabella’s beautiful brows furrowed deeply.
“Let it go, if you can’t figure it out, just sleep,” he said, embracing her.
“It’s such a good chance, and I couldn’t take her down. What a waste,” she sighed.
“I told you, your sister has some skills. Asking you to talk to me was just a distraction. Convenient for Caleb to act behind the scenes. You’re still naive. But don’t worry, we still have other chances.” he comforted her.
Andrew doesn’t take Victoria seriously, her methods were just so-so. Moreover, Victoria was powerless against absolute authority. Only Isabella would fret over such a minor character.
Isabella found it puzzling and gave up trying to make sense of it.
She nestled in Andrew’s arm, but when he leaned down to kiss her, she suddenly remembered something and turned her head to dodge his kiss.
“Tomorrow, David has invited you to the Harris family. Do you really plan to go?” she asked.
“Yes,” Andrew replied nonchalantly, “You don’t want to leave this family for the time being, and I’ll meet your father sooner or later. Besides, I’m not that busy lately.”
“Alright, do as you wish. Just be careful not to be taken advantage of,” she murmured, rolling over to prepare to sleep.
“Andrew, no.” She yelled, grabbing his restless hand. “Isn’t it just last night that… your frequency was so high, be careful of kidney deficiency.”
He laughed, and pressed his lips against her sensitive ear, “You can’t hope for me to be better. What good will it do you if I can’t do it, huh?”
“You know, I’m a wolf. My lust is much stronger than that of human man. I always can’t help but want to fuck you.” He added.
He forcefully turned her body towards him, their bodies pressed tightly together. Lowering his head, their noses touched, their breaths intertwining.
“365 days a year, you fly around the world for 300 days, and I can’t even catch you. How can I be kidney deficiency?” he said.
She burst into laughter, drawing circles lightly on his heart with her fingertips. “So, I’ve wronged you?”
He directly grabbed her restless hand, pressing it against his heart. “You have.”
He whispered in her ear and then swiftly rolled over, pinning her beneath him.
When she’s not around, he can endure it. Now that she’s beside him, he wouldn’t continue to restrain himself.
After showering, Isabella lay back on the large bed in the bedroom, too tired to move, lying on her back, twiddling her fingers.
Today is Tuesday, and next week her new movie will start filming. She won’t be able to return for at least three months after joining the crew.
Considering they will be apart for three months, she decided to indulge him for another week.
Although they had two rounds of sex, it wasn’t too late yet.
After each sex, Isabella always slept exceptionally well.
The next day, they didn’t wake up too late and left after breakfast.
Andrew’s ride today was a black Bentley, and the trunk was filled with gifts prepared by the assistant in advance.
With his noble status, even if he doesn’t like the Harris family, he would still be courteous.
He drove with Isabella by his side.
Inside the villa, it was unusually lively, the living room packed with people.
Mrs. Ada, David, and Charlotte welcomed them in their best attire. Victoria accompanied Caleb, Emily sat with her new boyfriend, and even Aria, who had just given birth, was there.
Walking into the villa with Andrew, Isabella looked around the crowded living room and felt a little overwhelmed. This scene was almost like welcoming a national president.
