Mr. Green nodded knowingly, ‘I’ve said it before, you and Zoe aren’t suitable. Your mother and aunt are just too insistent, pressing the matter too hard. Now that you have someone you’re dating, it’s better to clarify things with Zoe sooner rather than later.’
‘I know,’ Andrew nodded in agreement.
‘Zoe happens to be at home today. This matter, the sooner the better.’ Mr. Green sighed somewhat helplessly.
Andrew stepped out of the study, glanced at the steel watch on his wrist, hesitating whether to talk to Zoe first and then go to the airport to pick up Isabella.
Coincidentally, a servant approached Andrew and said, ‘Miss Zoe has the tea leaves in her room. She said it’s all packed and asked you to pick it up.’
‘Okay,’ Andrew responded and walked upstairs with long strides.
The study was on the first floor, while most of the bedrooms were on the second floor’s east side.
Zoe’s room was at the far end of the east side, one of the most spacious rooms apart from the master bedroom. Although she was the adopted daughter of the Green family, they had always treated her well.
Andrew arrived at her door, politely knocked, and heard a soft female voice saying, ‘Please come in.’
Andrew pushed the door and entered without closing it, avoiding suspicion.
Stopping in the middle of the room, he didn’t see Zoe.
He sensed something was wrong and was about to turn around to leave when suddenly, the door behind him shut tightly, followed by the sound of the lock clicking.
Andrew turned around to see Zoe standing behind him wrapped in a bath towel. Her snow-white shoulders and a pair of long legs were exposed, and it was easy to guess that there was little underneath the towel.
Andrew’s eyebrows furrowed in a cold frown, and he smirked coldly, ‘Playing the same trick twice, do you find it amusing?’
Zoe stood there without saying a word, her eyes fixed on him, seemingly waiting for something.
Suddenly, Andrew’s expression turned dark, a chilling coldness flashing in his deep blue eyes. His face displayed a frighteningly icy demeanor, revealing a wolf-like glare, ‘Did you tamper with my tea?’
Zoe pursed her lips and smiled, her smile tinged with a hint of self-ridicule.
‘Indeed an Alpha, you figured it out so quickly. However, it’s too late,’ she said.
If it weren’t in the Green family, if Andrew hadn’t been so defenseless, she wouldn’t have been able to scheme against him.
As she spoke, she stepped closer to him, one foot after another.
While Andrew’s eyes grew colder, his body started to feel hot, a fiery sensation rushing down to his lower abdomen.
By now, Zoe had reached him, the bath towel draped around her dropped to the floor at her feet. She stood before him, her chest full, her legs slender, her curves alluring.
‘Andrew, are you feeling uncomfortable? You’ll feel better if you hug me,’ Zoe reached out, grabbing his muscular arm and pressing her whole body against his.
Andrew’s broad chest felt hot, but as she tried to unbutton his shirt, he firmly gripped her wrist, exerting considerable force that almost seemed to crush her bones. Then, he forcefully pushed her away.
‘Get away, don’t come near me,’ Andrew’s eyes were deep and his breathing irregular. Zoe had underestimated him; the drug dosage was heavy, and even the strongest wolf couldn’t resist its effects.
‘Zoe, where do you get the confidence to think that sleeping with me would make me marry you?’ Andrew sneered, his eyes full of disgust and disdain.
Zoe was thrown to the ground by him and fell hard, unable to get up immediately. She looked up at him, her gaze firm, ‘You won’t know unless you try, Alpha. Besides, with my background, you can’t easily shake me off.’
She had taken action today with the determination to go all-in. She knew she only had this one chance. Andrew, who he was, couldn’t be manipulated twice.
Zoe also knew that even if they had a relationship, Andrew couldn’t possibly marry her. So, she chose the most fertile days and injected herself with ovulation-stimulating drugs in advance. As long as she conceived a wolf baby, given Andrew’s nature, he would surely take responsibility for the child.
Zoe was taking a gamble.
She was in pain all over from being thrown by Andrew and struggled to get up from the ground.
Seeing Andrew’s furrowed brows, the effects of the drug had started. His muscles were stiff and bulging, and wolfish hair had appeared on his face. At this moment, he was certainly enduring great discomfort.
Andrew was indeed forcibly restraining himself. The drug Zoe had administered was potent, acting swiftly. A scorching hot flow surged incessantly through his body, as if it could rupture his veins at any moment.
Andrew’s vision became somewhat blurred. The drug was slowly eroding his rationality, and the primal desires of the werewolf were raging inside him. Even Andrew’s formidable willpower might not last long. So, before losing his sanity, he hurriedly walked toward the door; he had to get out of there.
However, the door was tightly locked and couldn’t be pulled open.
‘Alpha, don’t waste your efforts. The lock on my door is customized; it can’t be opened without a code. Let me become your Luna,’ Zoe spoke as she approached him, hugging him tightly from behind.
‘Alpha, why torment yourself? Like you said, you might not take responsibility. So, sleeping with me wouldn’t be a loss for you… uh…’
Before Zoe could finish speaking, she was forcefully pushed away and slammed against the wall.
He looked at her with a cold, piercing gaze, as if he was looking at something utterly filthy. ‘Zoe, don’t disgust me.’
After saying this, Andrew raised his leg and kicked the door hard. With a bang, the lock broke, and the door swung open.
Andrew, with his indifferent demeanor, quickly walked out of the room, returning to his human form.
The commotion naturally drew the attention of others. Mr. Green, Madison, and Madison’s younger brother, Timothy (Zoe’s nominal adoptive father), all rushed over.
As Andrew stormed out, all three wore expressions of shock.
Madison, puzzled and concerned, asked, ‘Andrew, what happened?’
‘You better ask Zoe what she did.’ Andrew’s voice was extremely cold, his demeanor grim. ‘I don’t want to see her again, otherwise, don’t blame me for not preserving your dignity.’
After saying this, Andrew left in long strides.
Behind him, there were faint exclamations from Madison and an angry voice from Mr. Green.
Andrew stepped out of the villa and dialed Ryan’s number.
‘Come to the Green family and pick me up, now.’
