11.Four Major Families

Book:Oops, My Sugar Baby is Alpha Published:2025-4-9

Ithaca Town has always had four major families, and the majority of wealth is controlled by these families.
The Mitchell family is a leader in the construction industry. Half of the houses in Ithaca town were built by the Mitchell family. The Taylor family has been in the military for generations and has been naval officers for generations.
The Green family, on the other hand, is a family of lawyers. The girls from this family are exceptionally beautiful, intelligent, well-mannered, and marry into political and business elites. Their various marriage connections have strengthened the Green family’s position in Ithaca Town.
The Turner family holds the highest position among the four major families. The men from the Turner family hold influential political positions, high-ranking military positions, and are deeply involved in various businesses. Their family’s financial power is like a money-printing machine, where money is merely a number to them.
The status of the Turner family is beyond the reach of the daughter of a deputy mayor. Charlotte’s desire for Victoria to marry into their family is nothing more than a pipe dream.
“If Moonlit Art Inc. is given to your sister as a dowry, it won’t be considered a high-class marriage,” Charlotte had a plan in mind.
Moonlit Art Inc. is one of the country’s leading private entertainment companies, with a significant influence in the entertainment industry. With such a substantial dowry, even if she marries a prince to become a princess, it would be more than enough.
“Stop daydreaming, Moonlit Art Inc. is mostly owned by Isabella,” Emily continued to pour cold water on the situation.
Charlotte snorted disdainfully, “She’s daydreaming if she thinks she can take back the company!”
Over the two days at school, Isabella’s phone was almost about to explode with messages. She didn’t want to go back home, so she drove to her apartment. At this moment, Andrew was sitting on the living room sofa, focused on his laptop, typing away.
His noble and dignified demeanor made her feel like he wasn’t a wandering troublemaker but rather an aristocratic gentleman.
“Is Asher asleep?”
“He just fell asleep,” he didn’t raise his eyes to look at her.
Amelia wasn’t there, and the quiet atmosphere inside the house made her breathe a sigh of relief. However, Andrew noticed and turned his gaze to her.
“Are you very tired?”
“Yes, there’s been some school-related stuff lately.”
When she went back to her room to sleep, her phone suddenly rang.
The call was from Olivia, who had been staking out in front of the town’s police station for these days, and she had finally found the right moment.
“Isabella, I just saw your dad and Sheriff Owen together. Come over right away,” Olivia said urgently.
“Are you sure?” Isabella asked to confirm with her. Then she hung up the phone. Andrew got up from the sofa at this point, saying he had something to do and requested a ride in her car, which she didn’t refuse.
In the car
“I have something urgent to attend to at the police station.”
Andrew raised an almost imperceptible eyebrow but still didn’t say anything.
The car stopped in front of the police station, and she didn’t immediately get out. Instead, she took eye drops from her handbag, not avoiding Andrew’s gaze, and dropped them into her eyes.
The eye drops started to flow out of her eyes, hanging on her cheek, making her look pitiful as if she were crying.
“I still have something to do. You can take my car,” she tossed the car keys to him and stepped out.
He didn’t rush to drive away but took a lighter and a cigarette from his pocket.
On the other side, Isabella had already flagged down a black Audi business car. The car stopped, and she opened the passenger door and got in.
She sat in the front passenger seat with the driver, while David and Owen sat in the back.
“Dad, Uncle Owen,” her voice choked with emotion.
“What’s wrong, niece? Who has upset you? Tell Uncle, I’ll take care of it for you,” Owen was the first to speak.
She wiped her tears without saying anything. David’s face darkened, and he instructed the driver to drive. “If there’s something, you can tell me in my office.”
The car began to move slowly, and she sat up straight, glancing outside the window.
The white Audi A4 was still parked by the roadside, with one side of the car window rolled down. A man’s arm rested on the car window, and his fingers, with distinct joints, held a lit cigarette. Their gazes briefly met, and his eyes were deep and impenetrable, capable of delving into the depths of one’s soul.
She followed David and Owen into an office located on the third floor of the police station.
David had just returned from a meeting, so he removed his suit jacket and draped it over the back of a large chair, then turned to Isabella with a stern expression. He asked, “What have you done now? You came to me to clean up the mess.”
She tearfully recounted the anonymous post on the school forum and the disciplinary actions taken against her. She acted like an innocent victim, putting on a convincing performance, and she was no less skilled than Charlotte and her daughter. Previously, she just couldn’t be bothered to act.
After listening, David’s face darkened considerably. The scandal of Isabella being exposed as an unwed mother had obviously damaged his reputation.
Charlotte and Emily had schemed so much, but they had overlooked one thing: no matter what, she was still David’s daughter. Exposing her dirty laundry in public would tarnish David’s reputation, and he would never tolerate that.
Moreover, his old classmate Owen was also present, making the situation even more disgraceful for David.
“Why does something so unpleasant happen at the school? Owen, I need your help to deal with this matter.”
“Don’t worry, I’ll handle this matter. To dare to bully my eldest niece, when I catch the culprit, watch me tear him apart,” Owen swore with determination.
Owen indeed didn’t exaggerate. The resources and efficiency of the Public Security Bureau were real, and within a day, Jacob had been brought in for questioning by the police.
Charlotte and Emily panicked when they heard that Jacob had been taken to the police station. Emily called her sister Victoria, who was overseas.
“Sister, Jacob was taken by the police. What if he implicates us? Isabella, that little troublemaker, went to Dad and acted all pitiful. If Dad finds out it was us behind all this, he’ll definitely skin me alive,” Emily’s voice was trembling with fear.
On the other end of the call, Victoria had just finished shooting for more than ten hours, and she was about to rest. At this point, sleep was elusive.
“I’ve said it before, Isabella is very smart, just naive. We used to be able to deceive her. You stole James from her, and even the naive Isabella can see that we’re on opposing sides. Once she’s on guard, it won’t be easy to deal with her.
“Emily, calm down for now. Keep a low profile and stop provoking Isabella. I’ll finish my shoot and return to the country immediately, and then we’ll strategize.”
Jacob was eventually sentenced to six months of imprisonment, with a two-year probationary period, and ordered to pay Isabella $120, 000 in damages for loss of reputation and emotional distress.
Although Isabella received the compensation, she wasn’t satisfied with the outcome. The school’s disciplinary action against her remained, and she still couldn’t graduate this year.
Perhaps David was content with the outcome.
The only consolation was that Connor kept his promise. She had received an audition notice from the film crew and was given the script.
