Sally
Three days had passed since that sultry encounter with Colby. Not a minute-no, not even a second-went by without me remembering his touch, his kisses, our passionate fucking…
“Ah!” I screamed in pain as the knife I was using to chop onions on the kitchen counter sliced through my hand.
Mia rushed to my side, her hand gripping her phone, her eyes locked on me. She looked utterly shocked, and it wasn’t just because I had cut myself, with blood running down my wounded finger, but because I had audibly screamed.
Damn it! Ever since that night of my dissociative amnesia with fugue, I had been making sounds I wasn’t used to. I had kept quiet for so long, concealing my voice, so why was this happening now?
“Hmm… What was that?” Mia asked, scrutinizing me from head to toe.
I simply shook my head, which only seemed to make her more suspicious.
“Oh my goodness!” she exclaimed, finally noticing my bleeding hand. “What happened to you?”
I shook my head again, and she sighed deeply. “You should be more careful. Make sure to clean that cut before you continue cooking.”
I nodded, and she gave me a small smile before leaving the kitchen. I followed her, retrieved the first aid kit from the drawer, and after tending to my cut, I returned to the kitchen to finish cooking.
A short while later, I was done. Mia joined me again, helping me bring the dishes to the table.
“Mmm… It smells amazing! Just look at this feast,” she chuckled. “I’m so glad we decided to cook this after such a long time.”
I smiled and typed out, “You did well by supplying the ingredients.” I showed her the message, and she chuckled, replying, “I know, right?”
dangerous!” He snapped.
We began to eat, and Mia couldn’t help but nod in appreciation, make yummy sounds, and even compliment my cooking.
“Wow, your cooking has improved so much, Sally! Tell me, what’s the secret?” she asked, taking another spoonful.
I laughed and shook my head in response. As I continued eating, my phone beeped, and I checked to see a message from Harry. I let out a deep sigh upon reading it. “We never got to talk the other day because you left. How about this Saturday, please?”
Before I could think of an excuse, he sent another message. “I’m really lonely here. I could die.”
My eyes widened, and I shifted uncomfortably in my seat.
Mia noticed my change in demeanor and asked with a hint of worry in her voice, “Hey, are you alright?”
I simply nodded, and looking at my phone, I sent a reply to Harry. “Where are you right now?”
A picture took forever to load, either due to a weak Wi-Fi signal or some other issue. When it finally opened, I saw Harry sitting on the roof of a dorm building, his legs dangling over the edge. He looked pale and sad.
Oh no!
I quickly typed a message to Maya. “I’ve got somewhere to be. Finish eating without me.”
“Uh… okay,” she nodded, a hint of confusion on her face.
I grabbed a scarf, wrapped it around my neck, and rushed out the door. Upon reaching Harry’s dorm building, I saw his legs still dangling over the edge.
I ran inside and climbed the stairs until I reached him. He seemed to notice my arrival, as he turned to me with the saddest smile.
“Hey, Sally?” he waved.
I sighed deeply and joined him, sitting beside him.
“Hey, get up from there. It’s dangerous!” he snapped.
I frowned and typed before showing him the message. “Did you think about that before sitting down? Anyway, what’s up with you?”
“What do you mean?” he asked, forcing a smile as he looked down.
“Why are you acting unlike yourself? What’s wrong?” I typed and showed him.
He sighed deeply and shook his head. “Isn’t it obvious? It’s you, Sally.”
“Me?” I mouthed, pointing to my chest. He gave a simple nod.
“Well, what did I do?” I typed on my phone, shoving it in front of his face.
“I like you, Sally,” he suddenly confessed, my phone still against his face. I felt numb, my heart skipping a beat.
“In fact, I love you… Please accept my feelings. I know this is fast, but I don’t think I can keep doing this. I want you, Sally. I’ve always wanted you. I want you to date me, please…”
I just stared quietly, my phone between us.
“Do you already have someone?” he asked quietly, his chest rising and falling. “Do you like someone else?”
I could see tears building up in his eyes, but I couldn’t bring myself to care. I nodded, indicating yes.
“Who is it? Do I know them?” he asked, a pained expression on his face.
Just as I was about to put my phone down and type, “Just someone,” it beeped. I tried to turn it over to see the message, but Harry grabbed my hand, his eyes narrowing.
I struggled to pull away, but he held my hand tightly, glaring at me, his eyes filled with malice. “Is it Colby, your stepbrother?”
I swallowed hard, unsure of what to say.
“So it’s true?” he asked, shaking his head in disbelief. “You’re not even trying to deny it or something.”
Harry finally released my hand, and I quickly checked Colby’s message. It read, “Couldn’t stop thinking about you and the hot sex we had three days ago. When are we doing the masked one like you asked for, baby?”
Before I could process the message, Harry was behind me, placing both hands on my back. “I’m going to push you now. Can’t believe I was ready to lose my life because of you. You need to die, not me, because of your taboo, don’t you think?”
I shook my head, trying to calm him down, my whole body trembling. One wrong move and I could fall.
“I can’t believe I was crushing on you!” he spat. “That Colby fucker! Was that why he was acting that way? Was that why he was probably jealous that day at the field? Because of his forbidden lover?” Harry laughed, his voice loud and wicked.
Tears streamed down my cheeks, my eyes unable to look down any longer, and my heart racing faster than a race car.
“Hmm… Maybe I should kill him later as well, huh? Anyway, what’s the point of having you around when you’re just a dumb slut? Goodbye, Sally!”
I shook my head, desperately trying to plead with him. But before I could do anything, I felt his hand push my back hard. I screamed, “No! Please!!” as I lost my balance.
