Jayden
“Hmm, but what do you mean, Jayden?” Allison asked, cocking her head slightly. “Care to elaborate?”
“How about dating your friend?” I suggested, my voice nonchalant, trying to keep my expression as neutral as possible as I gazed at her.
Allison’s face contorted in confusion, a frown twisting her features. “What are you talking about, Jayden?” she asked, her voice laced with annoyance.
I shrugged, my eyes locked on hers. “I mean, Colby likes you.”
“Come again?” she said, her eyes widening, incredulity written across her face. “Did you just say Colby?? You want me to date Colby Banks?”
I nodded, my gaze unwavering. “Yeah, why not? He likes you after all.”
However, Allison’s face only darkened, her voice rising. “I don’t fucking like him! Why are you saying this, Jayden? Why are you doing this to me, exactly?”
I pocketed my hands, my expression unyielding. “Very soon, we’ll be over. I’m just giving you a chance to go to him before… before you get stuck with me for so long.”
Definitely, I didn’t want her being so attached to me that it would become uncontrollable. Besides, I was leaving her soon and going to stay glued and faithful to my girlfriend, Yvonne.
Allison’s eyes flashed with anger, but I continued, my voice cold. “I’m going back to Yvonne. Everything will soon be over, Allison. So, just don’t wait till then and give Colby a chance.”
“But why her though?” her voice cut through the air.
My brows furrowed, “What do you mean? Why her?”
“Do you even love her?” she scoffed.
I’d had enough with her already. What was her problem now? She was certainly getting out of hand, no doubt, and I hope she wouldn’t make me regret coming up to her in the first place… especially that early January when we met before I went to Spain. Our very first sex.
I walked up to Allison, my voice taking on a menacing tone. “Go inside and stop this fucking shit you’re doing right now.”
But she stood her ground. “You don’t even like her or have feelings for her. You’re just using her, aren’t you?”
“Fuck!” I whispered-yelled, my gaze literally glinting. “It’s not your business, Allison. So, what if I am using her? Just stay out of our life.”
“At least, I know you can’t love anyone… so use me. Use me too,” she muttered, tears brimming in her eyes.
My eyes widened, incredulity etched on his face. “Use you? Allison, what’s wrong with you?”
“Use me, Jayden!” she yelled in my face. “If you can’t love me like how I do love me, then use me.”
“I think it’s enough of our discussion, Allison,” I snapped, my expression darkening. “You’re getting out of it already.”
As I turned to leave, she yelled, “I’ll tell everyone about our relationship! Yes! Our fucked-up forbidden relationship.”
Instantly, I spun around, my eyes blazing. “Are you crazy?”
Allison’s eyes flashed with defiance, and it seemed to me that she was up for a challenge.
“Yes, I am,” she nodded, breathing crazily fast. “I’m really crazy, and that’s why I’ll tell everyone about our relationship. Let’s see how you’ll handle it. Also, I wonder what will happen next… especially to Yvonne.”
Allison’s lip curled as she added. “Oh, I know what’s next. Yvonne will probably stab you with your birthday cake knife, and you’ll be the one to blame for hurting us both, right? I mean, It. Is. Your. Fault.”
Then she rolled her eyes, that malicious smile still up on her face. Did she really think I gave two fucks about what she does?
I shook my head, my voice dripping with disdain. “Fine, do what you want.”
With that, I turned and entered the house, slamming the door shut behind me, leaving Allison standing alone outside.
I entered the house, making my way to Yvonne, who was still dancing and throwing slices of cake into her mouth. When she saw me, a smile traced her lips, and her eyes sparkled. “I’ve been waiting for you,” she said, her voice low.
I wrapped my arms around her waist as we danced. “Did I keep you waiting for so long?” I asked, my voice in a whisper.
“Nah,” she replied with a smile, shaking her head, and I nodded my head.
As we swayed to the music, I asked, “By the way, do you want to see my car later?”
She laughed, shaking her head. “Your car? When did you get a car, Jayden?”
“My dad got one for me today as a birthday gift,” I replied.
Yvonne’s eyes widened. “Wait, is that why you went outside?”
I nodded, smiling.
“Do you want to see it?” I asked.
“Yeah, I would love to, and we could probably go on a drive later, but for now, let’s just dance. I don’t want your birthday going to waste. Besides, we didn’t even have much fun together.”
“Well, you are right!” I nodded.
Yvonne leaned in, her arms wrapping around my broad shoulders. “Is there anyone upstairs?” she whispered against my ear.
I shook my head. “No, nobody.”
Her smile turned seductive. “Then how about we go upstairs and…?”
I cut her off, my heart racing. “Have sex?”
“Yeah,” she replied.
“Actually, we can do that later, don’t you think?”
Yvonne’s smile faltered for a moment before she recovered.
“Okay then, but I can’t wait that long, okay?”
I simply gave a slight nod.
As we continued swaying our bodies to the music, Yvonne tilted her head and asked, “What about your sister, Allison?
I thought I saw her leave earlier? Isn’t she back?”
“You don’t have to worry yourself about her.” I said, thinning my lips.
Just then, Tyler appeared, grinning. “Hey guys, we’re playing Truth and Dare,” he said, pointing at some friends by the side. “Want to join?”
I nodded, and Yvonne held my hand as we walked over to join the game. We sat down, and Tyler asked, “What about your sister? She should join us.”
“I’m not sure she should want to join…” was my reply.
Tyler nodded and rolled the bottle. It spun around, finally coming to rest with the neck pointing at Yvonne. But then, everyone’s eyes followed the direction of the bottle, and we saw Allison standing at the other end of the room.
I wondered how this happened, but before I could process it, Tyler exclaimed, “Talk about coincidence! So, we’re doing Truth and Dare, Allison. Do you want to join us since the bottle is pointing to you already? Who would have known you’d come suddenly?”
Allison’s eyes locked onto Yvonne’s, and Yvonne smiled sweetly. “Ask me whatever, Truth or Dare.”
I sighed inwardly, hoping this wouldn’t escalate into something more complicated.
“Truth or Dare?” Allison asked, her voice sounding dramatically robotic.
Yvonne raised her eyes, her gaze locking onto Allison’s. “Well, Truth,” she replied, chuckling softly.
Allison’s eyes narrowed, her lips pursed. She clenched her fingers, her gaze fixed intently on Yvonne.
The room fell silent, the tension evident. Wasn’t she going to ask already?!
Tyler broke the silence, “Hey, do you want to talk now? Everyone is waiting.”
Allison’s voice was steady, “What would you do if Jayden broke up with you?”
Every eye in the room turned to Yvonne, who continued to stare at Allison.
“What kind of question is that?” Yvonne scoffed, a frown on her face.
“Answer the damn question, Yvonne!” Allison yelled.
I wished I could stand up, grab Allison’s hand, and take her out of there. But I couldn’t that would make no sense and would look a bit suspicious. So I waited, my heart pounding in anticipation of what could happen next.
