Jayden
I moved closer to Yvonne, my eyes locked on hers. She swallowed hard, taking a little step backward. At that moment, I knew I looked dark, sinister, my expression a mask of intensity.
“Is it bad if I wank myself off in a random bathroom?” I whispered, my voice low and husky.
Yvonne’s eyes fluttered, and she looked away, her cheeks flushing. She swallowed again before replying, “Well, I guess not.”
I nodded curtly. “I’ll take my leave now. Good night, and I’ll see you when I see you.”
With that, I turned and left her hanging there, my long strides carrying me upstairs to my room. As soon as I entered, I slumped onto the bed, letting out a sigh of relief.
Staring up at the ceiling, I couldn’t shake off the memory of my encounter with Alison. It still felt surreal, the thought that everything was truly over between us.
Just as I was about to open the bag beside me, my phone rang, shrill and insistent.
I sighed deeply, checking the screen to see who was calling. My stepmother. What did she want now? No. More like, what does she want? She never calls me. Maybe, sometimes. Ugh!
I answered the call, my voice grumpy. “Hello?”
“Jayden, are you there?” she asked, her tone anxious.
“Yes, I am,” I replied, my irritation evident. “I’m obviously speaking to you.”
“Uh… So, it’s about my daughter,” she said, her voice laced with worry.
“Which one?” I asked, although I already knew.
“Allison, of course,” she replied. “Please, I need your help.”
“What’s going on?” I asked, my curiosity piqued.
“I’ve been calling her, and she hasn’t been picking up,” she explained. “I’ve been trying to reach her for the past twenty minutes, but there’s no response. I’ve sent messages, but she’s not even replying. Please, can you help me check up on her? I’ve called Sally, but her phone is switched off.”
I frowned, a pang of concern sparking within me. Allison never ignored her mother’s calls.
“Please help me check on my daughter, Allison,” my stepmother urged. “I’m worried about her. She never does this. There’s something I need to tell her, that’s why…”
My stepmother’s pleading voice tugged at my conscience, and I knew I had no choice. I couldn’t ignore her distress, even if it meant facing Allison again.
“Okay, fine,” I sighed, resignation etched in my voice. “I’ll check up on her.”
My stepmother’s voice brightened, relief palpable. “Thank you so much, Jayden! Thank you! You’re such an angel!”
An angel? More like the devil. The devil who was sent from the deepest part of the abyss to ruin your daughter’s life, and I hope she never forgives me for it.
After ending the call, I stood up, opened the bag I’d been about to open earlier, and pulled out a bunny mask and a brown, curly wig which I’d bought at a store earlier today after Allison left me.
“Get ready for your small gift, Allison,” I muttered to myself, a sly smile spreading across my face.
I closed the bag, left my room, and headed downstairs to Allison’s dormitory. I stood outside her door, hesitating for a moment before knocking.
The door remained closed, and an unsettling silence followed. I knocked again, my impatience growing.
The door creaked open slowly, and I was met with Allison’s piercing gaze. Her eyes narrowed, and a frown creased her forehead. She stood tall, her long gown flowing around her like a dark waterfall. The soft fabric seemed to whisper against her skin as she moved.
“What are you doing here?” she asked, her voice laced with a mix of annoyance and wariness.
I stepped inside, shutting the door behind me. The sound of the latch clicking into place seemed to echo through the tense silence. I took a deep breath, the scent of Allison’s perfume wafting up to tease my senses.
“Firstly, I wanna apologize,” I said, my voice barely above a whisper. “I’m really sorry.”
Allison raised an eyebrow, her expression skeptical. “What are you sorry for, Jayden?”
I took another step closer, my eyes locked on hers. “I’m sorry for everything. I’m sorry for making you feel bad during lunch today. I’m sorry for hurting your feelings too. I shouldn’t have done that.”
Allison’s gaze never wavered, but her eyes seemed to flash with a mixture of anger and hurt. She sat down on the edge of her bed, the mattress creaking softly beneath her. “Why are you here?” she asked, her voice dripping with disdain. “You want to fuck me again?”
I held up my hands, palms outward, in a placating gesture. “No, no, I’m not here for that. I’m actually here because your mom sent me.”
Allison’s expression changed, her eyebrows furrowing in concern. “What did she say?”
“She said you’re not picking up her calls, not answering her messages,” I explained.
She glanced at her phone, her eyes scanning the screen. “Oh, my phone is on ‘do not disturb.’ I’ll call her later.”
She looked up at me, her expression still wary. “Okay, you can leave now.”
“Yeah, good night,” I said, taking a step back. “I’m sorry once again.”
“Yeah, I’ve heard that,” she said, with an icy tone. “Can you just leave me alone now?”
“But you’re still mad at me,” I pointed out, my voice low.
“Mind your business, Jayden,” Allison snapped, looking away. “Go away, please. I want to sleep.”
She slid down onto the floor, her back against the bed. “Aren’t you going to leave? Leave before my roommate comes back.”
I raised an eyebrow. “Well, at least you should-”
But before I could finish, there was a knock on the door, and Allison’s eyes widened in alarm. “I told you,” she whispered urgently. “Go hide.”
“Why would I hide?” I asked, confused. “It makes no sense if your brother hides, right? I’m your brother, Alli.”
Allison’s voice was laced with skepticism. “You’re my brother, sure right?”
She stood up, walked up to the door, and pulled the latch, and the door swung open. I turned to see Nina standing in the doorway, her eyes scanning the room until they landed on me.
“Jayden? Wow, hey,” Nina said, a hint of surprise in her voice.
“I’ve heard about you,” I smiled, walking closer to her. “You’re my sister’s roommate, right?”
She nodded, a small smile playing on my lips. “Yeah, nice to meet you. Congratulations on winning the gaming tournament.”
I smiled back. “Thanks.”
But then her expression turned serious. “Aren’t you going to go meet her? I mean, your girlfriend is waiting, and she seems really impatient.”
I felt a pang of discomfort. Was it Yvonne? Why was she here? How did she know I was here? Hell no, she was stalk- I mean, following me.
“Girlfriend?” Allison repeated, her voice laced with incredulity.
“Yes, Yvonne,” Nina replied, nodding her head. “She’s standing just by my side.”
Oh my God…
