Allison
I retreated to my room at the dorm, still reeling from the events of the previous night. After a quick shower, I dressed and lay down on my bed, my mind racing. Despite the hot, forbidden sex I had with Jayden, I couldn’t shake off the lingering discussion I had with Victor.
As I drifted off to sleep, I was unaware of the time passing. The next morning, I woke up to the soft beeping of my phone. Groggily, I reached for my phone and saw a message from Gideon – a response that was long overdue. I had sent him a message after we last met, but he hadn’t replied until now.
Gideon’s message read: “I’m really sorry for not answering your message. My grandma is in the hospital, and I’ve been taking care of her and footing the bills. I don’t know when we’ll meet, but I’ll let you know soon.”
I quickly called him, and he answered immediately. “Is your grandma okay?” I asked, concern etched in my voice.
“She’s responding to treatment, and I hope she’ll be able to leave the hospital soon,” Gideon replied.
“I’m sorry about that,” I said.
“No need to apologize; it’s not your fault,” Gideon reassured me. “How are you? How’s school?”
“I’m fine, and school is… well, I never told you I’m a student, did I?” I asked, chuckling.
Gideon laughed. “You didn’t need to tell me. I follow your Instagram; I see your posts. And you seem like a student. We actually met before, remember?”
“I don’t remember,” I laughed. “But I’ll soon recall once you remind me.”
“Yeah, very soon,” Gideon replied, his tone hinting at a shared secret.
As we continued talking, I heard a voice in the background telling Gideon, “Your mom is awake, and your grandma wants to see you.”
Gideon immediately said, “Hey, it’s the nurse. I need to leave now. She just told me my mom has woken up.”
“Oh, yes, please go to her. We’ll talk later.” I quickly replied.
Gideon agreed, and we ended the call.
As I sat there, lost in thought, Nina walked in.
“Hey, are you back?” I asked.
Nina simply nodded.
“Look, Nina. I’m… I’m sorry about how I acted last night,” I sighed softly. “I was being so stupid.”
“It’s fine,” she shrugged. “I shouldn’t have pushed you into telling me things. Next time, I’ll learn to mind my business.”
“Are you being sarcastic right now? I said I’m truly sorry, please.”
“It’s fine, Allison, really!” she said, softly.
“Okay then,” I nodded. “But why didn’t you come back last night?”
“The party was fun and crazy, girl,” Nina replied, “You left during the climax. Well, I decided to stay till this morning. It was crazy!”
“What about Jayden?” I asked slowly and softly. “Did he also stay till this morning?”
“Yeah,” she responded. “He was drinking and dancing all night with his girlfriend, Yvonne. It was wild! The both of them were ‘oh my fuck’!”
“What does that mean?” I asked but instead, she collapsed onto the bed and fell fast asleep.
“Wow, so Jayden and Yvonne were together…” I thought, my expression changing.
Afternoon came quickly, and as I was eating my lunch, my phone rang. Jayden’s name flashed on the screen. I answered, my voice cool. “Hey.”
“Hey,” he replied. “Are you in your room right now?”
“Yes, why?” I asked, curiosity piqued.
“Can we talk?” he asked, his tone low. “Should I come in?”
“No, please don’t come in. My roommate is here,” I said quickly.
“Where are you right now?” I asked.
“I’m outside. At your door, precisely.” Jayden replied.
I swiftly pushed my food away, rushed to the toilet, and checked my face in the mirror. I cleaned up, adding a touch of makeup to brighten my look. After changing into a nice outfit, I headed outside.
Jayden turned to me, his eyes scanning my appearance. “You’re quite late. I was expecting you sooner.”
I smiled sheepishly. “Yeah, I was eating. I had to finish my food first.”
“I’m also hungry,” Jayden smiled, eyeing my outfit. “How about we go get something to eat since you’re well dressed?”
“Okay, sure.” I replied with a small nod.
As we walked down the corridor, Jayden reached for my hand. I quickly pulled it away, asking, “What are you doing?”
“Come on,” he groaned softly, rolling his eyes. “We’re just step-siblings. Nobody will think anything if they see us holding hands, right? They’ll just think we’re being brotherly and sisterly.”
“You’re right,” I sighed, shaking my head. “But still, we should be careful.”
As we continued walking quietly, I couldn’t shake off the memory of what Nina told me about Jayden and Yvonne’s wild night. Was I feeling jealous? Hmm! I’d better not. I glanced at Jayden, and he noticed my gaze.
“Why are you staring?” he asked, a hint of amusement in his voice. “Never seen someone hot before?”
I shook my head. “It’s not that. When did you leave… the party yesterday morning?”
Jayden’s expression changed, and I quickly grabbed his hand, pulling him into a secluded corner. I pushed him against the wall, and he looked at me in surprise.
“What are you doing?” he asked, his voice low.
I took a deep breath, my heart racing. “I don’t know what I’m doing, but I want you to kiss me.”
Jayden’s eyes locked onto mine, and he asked, his voice barely above a whisper, “Kiss you? But why this all of a sudden?”
The thought of Jayden with Yvonne last night, while I worried about us, was unbearable. “Kiss me now,” I whispered, my voice trembling. “Make me forget the jumbled mess in my head right now. Make me feel good, Jayden.”
Jayden’s gaze intensified, his lip curling between his teeth. “Allison?” he called softly.
“What?” I asked, my eyelids fluttering.
“It’s time we stopped this,” he whispered, his words sending a shiver down my spine. My heart skipped a beat and I wish I didn’t hear him.
“What does that mean?” I asked, my voice barely audible.
Jayden’s lips parted, and I waited anxiously for his response. But instead, he pulled me closer, his hand cradling the back of my head. Our lips collided, and he kissed me with a fierce, all-consuming passion.
