Adrianna
Someone knocks on my door and I go to open it, frowning when I see Natalya standing there in a dress, looking ready for a night out. “What’s up?”
“We’re going out,” she says.
It’s not often that Nat wants to go anywhere. “Where?”
“Town,” she says, barging her way into my room. “Azira wanted to get ready in here.”
Azira clears her throat. “Town with Alexander Morales and his group of asshole friends, she forgot to mention.” She throws her dress on my bed and strips out of her joggers and shirt.
“And why the fuck are we going out with them?”
Azira rolls her eyes. “Don’t even go there. Just pick a dress and let’s party.”
Alexander Morales is a fucking asshole and I don’t really want to go out with him, but the idea of getting off campus for a few hours and having a few drinks is appealing.
I walk into my closet to get a dress, selecting a red mid-length dress with a low neckline. As I walk out of my closet, I see Azira is already dressed, which has to be some kind of record for her. She’s wearing a stunning lilac max dress with a high neckline, which makes me rethink my revealing choice.
“Wow, you look gorgeous,” Nat says.
I nod. “Doesn’t she always?”
Azira shakes her head. “You two are just being nice.”
“Nope, if I was dude I’d definitely fuck you,” Nat says.
Azira laughs. “Don’t be an ass, Nat.” She notices my dress. “Let’s see then. What are you going to wear?”
Azira wolf-whistles the moment I hold it up. “Now, that is hot as fuck.”
I roll my eyes. “I haven’t even put it on yet.” Sliding my sweatshirt off, I get undressed. Before slipping the dress on and turning to Nat when I realize it zips up from the back. “Can you zip it up?”
She nods and zips me up and I walk into the bathroom to check it out since Azira is hogging the dressing-table mirror. The dress looks good and I’m not afraid to admit it.
I grab my makeup and put some on, not a lot, as I prefer not to go out caked in it. Once I’m finished, I head back into the bedroom and sit next to Nat. “How long do you think she’ll be?”
“I can hear you, you know?” Azira says.
“God knows. We might be waiting for days,” Nat says, winking.
Azira grumbles something under her breath but continues working on her makeup.
“So why are we going out with Alexander, exactly?” I ask,
Nat’s jaw clenches. “Because he can get us out and I wanted a night on the town, that’s all.”
I’m very good at knowing when anyone lies to me, but Nat has tells that are unmissable. For example, she always clenches her jaw when she’s about to lie. “I see, well who else is going?”
Nat shrugs. “Not too sure.”
“Are we going to get Eva?”
“Of course,” Nat says, as if it’s a given that Eva is a part of the group now. I guess she is, but I still can’t shake the feeling that Nat is trying to replace Giorgia.
“I miss Giorgia,” I say.
Nat’s expression turns solemn. “So do I. Have you heard from her at all?”
I shake my head. “No, not since the start of summer break. You?”
Nat shakes her head and we both fall silent.
After at least thirty minutes, Azira says, “Ready.” Standing and grabbing her clutch.
“At last, now we just need to get Eva ready.” She glares at Azira. “Let’s hope she doesn’t take as long as you.”
There’s no way in hell Eva is going to be alright with going out with the three girls that stabbed her on her first night here. “She isn’t going to want to go out with the three bitches.”
“None of us do, but we won’t tell her they’re coming,” Nat says.
Azira makes a tutting sound. “So devious at times, Nat.”
All she does is smile and nod toward the door. “Come on, or we’ll be late.”
Eva will be pissed when she finds out Jeanie and her minions are coming, but it’s inevitable when going out with Alexander. They’re always with him.
We walk down the corridor, and I can’t deny that despite the company we’re going out with, I’m thankful to get off campus for a few hours. Far away from Coach Daniels.
