Eva.
My heart skips a beat as I stare down at Dimitry, who Oak knocked out with a fierce right hook.
Everyone is so drunk and consumed by whatever they’re doing that they didn’t notice the principal of the school swoop in and save me. His aqua eyes blaze with barely contained rage, which scares me.
I reach for him, but he takes a step back. “Not here.” He runs a hand through his hair. “Leave this party and meet me in the classroom where we have leadership strategy.” He turns around and marches right out of the party, ignoring that students are drinking and doing drugs in his presence.
Once Oak is out of sight, I rush in a different direction toward the main school building, leaving Dimitry knocked out on the floor. I swallow hard and glance at Dimitriy, who’s still out cold. Hopefully, no one noticed Principal Byrne rush in like my knight in shining armor.
My heart hammers so hard it makes me feel sick as I rush down a pathway and take a side door back into the school. A faint sound of music is still coming from the main hall, but most of the students are down at the ruins.
I walk toward the classroom where Oak and I had sex. My palms are sweaty, and my stomach twists with anxiety as I reach the door, noticing a dim light coming from beneath it.
Oak’s already there. I consider knocking but decide against it.
Instead, I reach for the door and push it open, finding him standing in the center with his back to me. His powerful shoulders rise and fall as he takes jagged breaths.
“Oak,” I say his name, and he turns.
There’s such a dangerous mix of emotions in his eyes that I don’t dare utter another word. Instead, I shut the door behind me and turn the lock.
He rushes for me, crashing into me and pulling me against him. “Do you know how scared I was, baby girl?” He asks, his nostrils flaring. “You were in the hands of a fucking Bratva heir, and I couldn’t find you. If he had-”
I reach up and cup his face in my hands, making him look me in the eye. “Don’t talk of ifs and buts. He didn’t, and that’s all that matters because you saved me.”
“Only just,” he mutters, grabbing one of my hands and placing it on his chest. “Can you feel how fast my heart is racing?”
I nod in response, feeling the gallop of his heart drum against my fingers.
“I don’t know what I would have done if I hadn’t got to you in time.” There’s pure anguish in his eyes. “You’re everything to me, Eva.”
My heart aches hearing him say that. “Oak, I’m sorry.”
“You should’ve listened to me when I told you not to attend with him.” He pulls me tighter against him, wrapping his fingers in my hair and yanking my head back. “Do you know how it killed me to watch you in his arms?” His jaw clenches. “I wanted to walk over and choke the life out of him.”
My eyes widen. “You wouldn’t”
“I’d do anything for you,” he growls before kissing me.
It feels like I melt the moment his lips are on me. My knees wobble as I clutch onto his muscular shoulders, trying to find an anchor.
Oak lifts me off the floor, forcing me to wrap my legs around him. He takes me over to my desk at the front of the class and perches me on the edge, standing between my thighs. “I’m going to fuck you here on your desk like I’ve wanted to since the first class you attended.”
His eyes blaze with power and purpose. “Do you know what I did that day when we were alone in here, and you were finishing your essay?” Oak asks, planting soft kisses down my neck.
I shake my head. “No, sir.”
“I pulled my cock out under my desk and jerked off while I watched you work,” he breathes, making my nipples harden at the filthy mental picture he’s painting. “I came all over the underside of my desk thinking about fucking you.”
“Are you serious?” I ask, my thighs clenching around him at the mere idea that he was so desperate for me even then that he couldn’t control himself.
“Deadly.” He bites my earlobe, making me jerk at the sensation. “I believe you walked over as I’d climaxed and asked if I was alright. My cum was coating the underside of my desk, and you stood over me with a furrowed brow. I knew then I was royally fucked.” He licks a path right down my neck. “I knew you would be mine.” He fumbles with the zip of my dress and drags it down, pulling the fabric below my breast. “So perfect,” he breathes before closing his lips around my puckered nipples one by one.
I moan, allowing him to devour my skin like a wild animal. “I knew the moment I set eyes on you that I’d never met a man as beautiful as you.”
Oak laughs. “There are many words you could use to describe me, but beautiful isn’t one of them.” He grabs hold of the fabric of my thong under my dress and tears it apart, making me gasp. “I’m corrupt, dark, and dangerous, Eva,” he murmurs into my ear, the zip of his slacks echoing. “The kind of man your mother warns you not to go near.”
“Fuck my mother,” I growl, angrier than I intended, grabbing his dress shirt and tearing it apart at the buttons. “She’s never given two shits about me.” I search Oak’s eyes, which are full of surprise at my outburst. “You may be dark, corrupt, and all of those things you say, but to me, you’re beautiful.” I notice the gold medallion I’ve seen every time around his neck, knowing I’d meant to ask him about it, but never had the courage.
