Aria
I have no idea what he just asked-I wasn’t paying attention. How the fuck am I supposed to answer?
I mean, I was expecting an Economics lecture, not a math class. Did I mix up the damn timetable or something?
Before I can make a bigger fool of myself, Lucas’ voice cuts through the silence.
“The answer is 74, sir.”
All heads turn to him.
“Russo, correct,” Glenn grumbles. “But I didn’t ask you.”
Lucas shrugs, completely unfazed. “Sorry, sir. Got excited.”
A few students chuckle.
Meanwhile, I want to die. I always ace my classes. Now I look like a dumbass who can’t even answer a basic question.
“Miss Whitlock, next time, pay attention when I’m teaching. You look like you were in la-la land, dreaming about something dirty,” Professor Glenn says, and the entire class loses it.
Even Mia and Lily, my so-called best friends, are laughing their asses off. Traitors. I swear, I will throttle them later.
“The next time it happens, I’ll kick you out of my class,” Glenn adds, his tone all serious.
I swallow my pride, nodding.”I’m sorry, sir. It won’t happen again.”
Goddess, I wish I really was in la-la land right now instead of living this nightmare.
Lucas glances at me, smirks, and then casually looks away like this isn’t all his fault.
Class ends a few minutes later, and I practically sprint out of there, still drowning in embarrassment.
“Aria,” Mia starts as we walk through the hallway, her eyes narrowed in suspicion. “What the hell was that?”
“Yeah,” Lily chimes in. “You’re acting weird.”
Before I can respond, Lucas steps out of the classroom.
Lily crosses her arms. “Have you apologized to Aria yet?”
Lucas blinks. “Yeah, of course. We’re good now, right, baby?”
Oh, he wants to play.
I flash him a sweet smile. “Of course, baby. We’re totally cool.”
His lips twitch like he’s holding back a laugh. “Great. See you later then.”
“Wait, where are you going?” I ask.
“Hockey rink. Tryouts,” he says, nodding toward Theo and Damon.
I frown. “You’re actually joining the hockey team?”
“Yep.”
Before I can interrogate him further, he throws an arm around Theo. “Later, babe.”
“See you later, babe,” Damon adds with a smirk as they walk away.
Mia sighs. “Okay, what was that? They looked like they were one second away from bursting out laughing.”
“Yeah…” Lily agrees. “Is it just me, or is there some serious tension between you and Lucas?”
I groan. “Fine! Lucas and I made a deal.”
They both stare at me.
“What kind of deal?” Mia asks, suspicious.
I exhale sharply. “We agreed not to have sex for a week.”
“WHAT?”
Their shrieks practically shake the hallway.
“It was my idea,” I admit. “I told him he was obsessed with me, and he said I was too. So I bet him I could go a whole week without fucking him, but he couldn’t.”
Lily gapes. “And he agreed to that?”
“Well… I promised him that if he won, he’d get one wish.”
Mia looks at me like I just murdered someone. “Aria. Are you trying to kill yourself?”
“Relax, it’s just sex,” I huff.
Mia scoffs. “Just sex? Babe, you and Lucas are addicted to fucking.”
“I am not-”
Mia cuts me off with a deadpan stare. “Don’t even try to lie. You literally lost focus in class because you were fantasizing about his dick.”
My mouth opens. Then closes.
…Well, shit.
How does she know me so well?
“Fine,” I admit, dragging a hand down my face. “I might have made a mistake. Because now, all I can think about is Lucas bending me over and ruining me. It’s fucked up.”
Lily raises an eyebrow. “So… why don’t you just go to him and end it?”
“No!” I gasp. “What about my pride? If I cave first, he’ll never let me hear the end of it.”
Mia rolls her eyes. “Well, you shouldn’t have done something so stupid, you sex maniac.”
I glare at her.
She smirks. “But here’s the thing… you just have to make him break first. Or he’ll break you first.”
I narrow my eyes. “But how?”
Mia’s lips curl into a mischievous smile. “I’ve got a plan.”
Lily and I exchange a wary look.
Not again.
Mia’s plans are always chaotic. But right now? I desperately need her help.
I take a deep breath. “Okay. Tell me.”
