“Good morning, Dad.” Mira greeted her father the moment he walked into the dining room, where she and her mother were already seated, eating their breakfast.
“Honey, how was your night?” Rebecca’s voice was filled with flattery, her eyes shining with happiness. The moment she saw Jason walking down the stairs with a small smile on his face, she knew that whoever he met with yesterday had given him a way out. No need for them to be afraid that Lina would be here anytime to send them out of the villa.
Rebecca hurriedly stood up to pull out a chair for Jason, who immediately sat down.
“My night is good. Serve breakfast already. I have to be somewhere in the next hour.” Jason calmly pick up a glass of steaming coffee from the table, his other hand wrapping around the glass cup to check the coffee’s temperature.
Mira watches her parents from the corner of her eyes, pretending that she didn’t notice what was going on, and she was not listening to their conversation. Her face was quite pale. The gauze wrapped around her head had been removed yesterday, but she didn’t escape the small scar that formed on her forehead, making the grudge she had against Lina become more stronger.
“Honey,” Rebecca called out to Jason, who was holding a piece of toast in his hand, wanting to put it in his mouth. He nodded at Rebecca indicating that he was listening to whatever she wanted to say.
“How was the place you went to yesterday? Do we have a way out? Have you gotten a potential buyer to buy the company?” Rebecca asked one question after another, forgetting about the maids that were standing behind them.
Seeing this, Jason dismissed the maids before he answered Rebecca, whose eyes were on him at the moment.
“Don’t worry about this matter. The company had been sold after months of waiting. Who knew my assistant is so capable that he got me a potential buyer at the last minute. We don’t need to worry about loan sharks anymore. I’ve already settled the loan I borrowed from them” Jason’s eyes shine with relief as he says this.
The person who bought the company was generous enough to offer him a nice amount of money that after he settled his loan, there were still a few millions he can use for the next few months.
“Really?” Rebecca clapped her hands like a happy child, the corner of her mouth hooking up in a fawning smile.
Jason didn’t bother to reply since he had already explained to her earlier. Seeing this, Rebecca finally calmed down. After noticing that Mira and Jason were not in the mood to talk to her, and were focused on their breakfast, she picked up her cup of coffee to take a sip.
When they were almost ending their breakfast, one of Jason’s security guards rushed forward, his forehead covered in cold sweat.
All eyes were immediately fixed on him. Before Rebecca could release her anger of being interrupted, the bodyguard immediately reported the situation to the family of three.
“Mr. Robert, Miss Lina is back. She isn’t alone. She came together with some people who seemed to be her bodyguards.”
Jason’s hands, which were holding a napkin between them, shook slightly at the news. It’s not that he was scared of Lina, he was scared of the power behind her. And with her visit today after the last one when she had threatened them to vacate the villa, he knew her arrival won’t be anything good.
He subconsciously looks around the dining hall, reminiscing about the years he had spent here. How can he be willing to leave? Before he could think deep, the sound of the door being harshly opened was heard, making everyone in the dining hall rise to their feet and rush to the source of the commotion.
“Lina! What’s the meaning of all this? Why are you causing a nuisance here?” Rebecca exclaimed the moment she saw Lina’s beautiful face. Her good mood immediately went sour. Her face was twisted in different shades of anger.
Lina didn’t reply to her. Instead, she signaled the bodyguards behind her with a flick of her fingers.
“You guys know what to do.” Lina’s cold voice echoed in the room without any traces of warmth in them. Her father and his family don’t deserve her sympathy at all. What she was doing to them now was not even up to quarter of what they have done to her for the past decade.
“Lina, no matter what, we are your family? How could you have the heart to throw us out of the villa? If you don’t even think about me and my mom, at least think about dad. Do you want him to spend his old age on the street?”
Mira, who had not said a word earlier, immediately got worked up seeing Lina’s glowing eyes. Seeing Lina getting beautiful day by day burnt Mira’s eyes. She was also a beauty, but her beauty can’t compare to Lina. And with the scar on her forehead, her beauty has depreciated.
Five bodyguards immediately rushed upstairs to help Jason and his family pack their belongings and throw them out. Two bodyguards were left behind to protect Lina, whose hands were folded on her chest, watching the show.
“You!” Rebecca chased after the bodyguards.
“What do you guys think you are doing? How dare you come into my house to throw me out?” Rebecca shouted behind them as she chased them upstairs. How can she bear to leave the villa she had been staying in for more than a decade?
Although Jason had some money now, how can she be sure that the house they would move in later would be as comfortable as this villa they were about to be thrown out?
“Mom, wait for me!” Mira also rushed upstairs, chasing after her mom. What if those rough-looking-bodyguards destroyed her expensive skincare and jewelry.
“Mr. Robert, you seem to have forgotten something?” Lina took some confident steps towards Jason, whose eyes were flowing with anger. Lina didn’t seem to mind Rebecca’s ruckus at all.
How dare this ungrateful daughter of mine talk to me like that? Jason thought as his eyes threw daggers at Lina.
“Where are the transfer documents for my mother’s company? Do you want me to tell them to beat you up before you can provide it?” Lina’s lips couldn’t help curling up as she saw the evident fear in her father’s face.
“You dare!” Jason angrily yelled. He couldn’t accept his least favored daughter talking to him in that manner. It makes him think about Lina’s mother, who was also very confident of herself, and also speaks to him with authority. He gnashed his teeth in hatred, regretting why he didn’t strangle Lina to death when she was still a child.
“Try me and see if I’m just giving an empty threat.” Lina walked up to a chair placed in front of Jason and sat down with her legs crossed on top of each other. She looked up at her father, who stood in front of her, looking like an abandoned asshole.
“It’s useless no matter how you threaten me. I’ve sold the company, and there is nothing you can do about it.” Jason’s eyes finally sparkled seeing Lina’s twisted face on the news he just shared.
He was feeling regretful for selling the company earlier, but after seeing Lina’s face finally twisted in anger, he felt satisfaction for selling the company. All he wanted was for Lina to always bow her head to him, but it seems that he won’t be able to achieve that anymore since she had already gotten married to Raymond.
How can he make Lina feel pain if not selling what she and her mother cherished the most?
Lina abruptly stood up and grabbed Jason’s collar in anger. How dare he sell her mother’s company? Although he had bankrupted the company with his poor management, what gave him the right to sell her mother’s hard earned company?
“Do you believe I can end you right now?” Lina said through gritted teeth, while Jason enjoys her misery. How can he make lina feel his pain if not by selling her mother’s belongings she cherished so much?
