In the hospital, after putting the child to sleep, Caroline sent a message to Mr. Chow.
“My daughter will wake up in about two hours. You can come for the paternity test.”
Mr. Chow replied, “Okay.”
While the child was sleeping, Caroline intended to take a nap as well, but her phone rang.
It was that guy Tilda had seen at the party, who had been pursuing Caroline.
“Randall, you don’t need to call me anymore. I never had any feelings for you. I agreed to go out with you last time just to make Johnny jealous.”
“Where are you now?”
“It’s none of your business.”
“I came to your house, but your parents said you haven’t been home these past few days. Where have you been to?” Randall completely ignored her cold words.
Caroline frowned and decided to be straightforward. “My daughter is sick, and I’m taking care of her in the hospital. Yes, I have a daughter! Now, will you please stop bothering me?”
“Which hospital are you in? Central Union Hospital?”
“What does it have to do with you?”
Caroline hung up the phone directly and then looked up to see a tall figure standing at the entrance of the ward.
It was Johnny.
He was here!
Caroline’s eyes, which had been as lifeless, instantly lit up. “Johnny! Are you here to see our daughter?”
“I’m here to ask you whose child she really is.” Johnny’s eyes were filled with anger and sarcasm as he stared at her intently.
It was all because of this woman!
She had caused him and Tilda to end up like this!
How could he not be angry?
“Of course, she’s yours! Johnny, even if you don’t want to admit it, don’t slander me. I only had sex with you!” Caroline was about to speak loudly but quickly realized she might wake up the child. She hurriedly got up and pulled Johnny out of the ward. “Your parents came to find me and said they wanted a paternity test. I never refused! You don’t need to repeatedly doubt me like this. Once the test is done, everything will be clear!”
Johnny grabbed her wrist and said, “Fine, since you’re so sure, let’s do the test now!”
“The child is sleeping!”
“We’ll do it now!”
Caroline frowned and pursed her lips. “Fine, we’ll do it now. Let me go get the child!”
In no time, she carried her crying daughter out.
Johnny and Caroline went directly for the paternity test. They paid for expedited service, so the results would be available in as little as two hours.
He didn’t leave. He waited here in case Caroline tampered with the test results.
The child was still crying, but soon, she grew tired and fell asleep in Caroline’s arms.
Looking at Caroline’s current behavior, her straightforward expression, and her lack of hesitation during the test, she didn’t seem like she was lying.
This made Johnny worry again.
During this time, Mr. Chow and Mrs. Chow also arrived at the hospital and saw that both of them had already finished their tests. They decided to wait together for the results.
“Why didn’t you tell me when you came to the hospital?” Mrs. Chow asked her son softly.
“Ulric went back to the country and told me that Caroline’s child shouldn’t be mine.”
“Is that true?” Mrs. Chow immediately looked at him with excitement.
Johnny nodded. “Yeah, that’s why I came to the hospital.”
“If the child isn’t yours, your dad said he would go talk to Tilda’s parents for you!”
“I hope so.”
Just as Johnny finished speaking, a doctor came out from the laboratory holding two pieces of paper.
“Is Johnny Chow here?”
