Book:Depth Rough; She Was Unwanted Luna Published:2025-4-7

Ethan P. O. V
I let out a painful groan as a team of doctors stitched up the wound on my chest. This scar is a reminder of that damn Rogue.
I’m pretty amazed by what they’ve accomplished. Every time they’ve attacked here, they’ve never resorted to weapons like I did to take them down. But this time, they’ve got a clear target.
And it’s someone I never expected them to go after-the person I just brought into this Pack two days ago. Is the word about my Luna spreading that quickly?
“Do you need anything else, Alpha?” Dr. Pack asked after stitching up all my wounds and cleaning the blood off me.
The pain was still there, but I knew it wasn’t from the wolfsbane. If they had used that as poison, they would have been the ones in trouble first.
“No, but if you have any medicine, I’d like to take it. I want to heal up quicker.”
“Absolutely, Alpha.”
The doctor pulled out some medicine wrapped in a few small paper packets. After explaining when I should take them, he and his assistant quickly left the room, leaving me with Danny, Chen Lien, and Octa, who was also an Elder.
They’re a rebel group that could put our Pack at risk any time, Alpha.
“I’m not on board with going on the offensive,” Chen Lien interrupted Octa.
Chen Lien seemed way more upset than the others. His face was serious, and you could see the anger he was trying to hide. It felt like he was trying to show me he cared about Claire, and honestly, that didn’t sit well with me.
I also spotted blood on his clothes and some scratches that had torn parts of his outfit. It was clear that even though Chen Lien wasn’t part of my Pack, those Rogue Wolves had still gone after him, targeting anyone who stood with me.
Why are you so adamant about this, Chen Lien? Luna from our Pack has been taken, and you can’t just brush off the idea of launching a rescue mission. Danny’s getting heated now. Meanwhile, Octa decided to pull up a chair and sit there, watching us argue.
“I don’t really get what this Pack is all about, but you can’t risk Claire’s safety by going on the attack when we have no clue what they’re planning.”
“Their aim is clear: to wipe out our Pack and take over our territory. That’s exactly what they did to us ages ago!” Danny keeps pushing back. “They’re just a bunch of rebels and-”
“Enough, Danny! Just stop!” I cut in.
This chat is going nowhere fast. Arguing with Chen Lien doesn’t fix anything, especially since he’s a Packless. He’ll defend those Rogue Wolves and tell us not to attack.
“But, Alpha! What if they hurt Lady Halle?”
“They won’t. And I don’t want anyone doing anything until we figure out what they want.”
“But, Alpha-”
“Am I not being clear, Danny?!” I snapped. Danny looked like he was about to shake apart from fear, while Octa just nodded quietly, unsure if he agreed or was just taking it all in.
It’s not only about rescuing Claire; we also need to figure out if those Rogue Wolves did anything to her. Being Rogue Wolves means they could take extreme measures to get what they want, even if it harms Claire, Chen Lien added.
I shut my eyes. I should’ve felt rage when Chen Lien started talking again after I interrupted Danny, but I’m just too worn out right now.
“If you want to save Claire, you need a solid plan, Ethan!”
“Sir Chen Lien! You might want to tone it down a bit around our Alpha!” Danny cautioned Chen Lien. I could already sense a pointless argument brewing between them.
My chest was still throbbing with pain, but I tried to keep my cool and stepped out of the room, leaving the others behind. Danny wanted to hold me back for a moment, but I wasn’t having it.
The place was a total wreck from the recent attack. It’s been five years since anything this brutal happened, and now they’ve even taken Claire. This is way more than I ever expected.
“Oh My Goodness, Ethan!”
Lucy dashed over to me as soon as she spotted me walking into her room at the end of the hallway on the second floor. I was relieved she was okay and hadn’t been hurt.
She wrapped her arms around me, showering my lips with kisses while apologizing. The look on her face was full of regret that those Rogue Wolves had managed to get to me.
“I’m sorry I couldn’t help you,” she said.
But I didn’t see it that way. If Lucy had come to my aid instead of hiding away, it could have been her in danger instead of Claire. If that had happened, I wouldn’t just be furious; I’d hunt them down in their forest hideouts and take them out individually.
“Is Claire why they’re coming after us?” she asked.
I shook my head. “No idea.”
“If they want her so badly, why not just leave her? Let her deal with those damn Rogues on her own!”
“Seriously?” I squeezed Lucy’s hand and stepped back a bit. “She’s crucial for my plans. Christopher Gale has been searching for her everywhere, and I got her just before the Moon Fall Pack could grab her.” I explained.
“But she’s the one who got us into this mess! Because of her, we lost so many people, and-”
“It doesn’t matter how many lives are lost for my goals! I refuse to let Claire fall into the hands of those Rogue Wolves! I’m bringing her back.”
“But Ethan-”
“Whether you like it or not.” I cut off our chat.
This is wild! When did I start acting like this around Lucy? She’s always been my weakness, pulling me into this wild love affair, and now I’m actually fighting with her?
Not wanting to keep the argument going, I walked out of the room, leaving Lucy behind while my mind was racing with thoughts that made me feel ridiculous.
This is wild! It feels like I’m not even in control of my own feelings, and that’s pretty rough, especially since all my emotions are pouring out for a woman who might take me to Uncertain Glory.
I stepped back from Lucy’s room, and my thoughts drifted to something I had never considered before-maybe I don’t have to hand Claire over to Christopher Gale after all.
