It ends with me: Bargain or trap
Hawk Andrews (Edward Jones)
The rattling sound of the air unit filled the air, I inhaled a deep breath as I raised my head up to the ceiling in my office. This office used to be my dad’s own, but in a few days it’s going to be mine.
Tomorrow being Thursday was the day I have to take over my father’s business. I told my father about wanting to get married to Mary, but he thinks marrying Mary wasn’t a smart move. Because he believes Mary was only interested in me because of Money. But I doubt that, after all we have been through together and the birth of our twins. She can’t just see me as a man with money alone. Have I been too subtle and laid back? Truth be told, I have spent so much money on her and her father’s health which keeps deteriorating.
And No, I can’t accept my father’s suggestions of taking the kids away from her. There has to be another way we could go about it. I have been busy trying hard to look for a way to make things work out well for us and the kids, Monday was the only day I haven’t spoken to them. And that is because I gave myself a deadline, before Friday I should have found a discreet way to make things work out well for us. Maybe we will have to go somewhere far where no one will find out. Santorini was the best place to run to.
I can clearly remember my father’s words to me.
“Hawk! I don’t know what this is, but you need to pull your shits together and think straight, you’re not a kid anymore. You won’t have any association to do with that woman or her children.”
I made him realize it is my children we are talking about, and the woman I’m in love with, but he was just too fixed on the engagement with Taylor.
My engagement with Taylor was fixed for next week. And I only agreed to it because I was threatened with the life of Mary and our kids by her father. I have a child with Taylor, a result of the filthy mistake I made, she kept insisting I was the one who was all over her, because I thought she was someone else. It was hard to believe, but I let it go because I have a fault in it.
The child was named after me, Hawk junior. I haven’t had anything to do with the child since he was born because I believe he is not mine. Even the DNA results must have been tampered with.
Taylor has been so desperate in making me hers, I have no idea of how she keeps getting the codes of my house but I think my father has something to do with it. I know I was being watched and I have to be careful.
A noise caught my attention, it seems to be coming from outside. Before I could stand up to check what the noise was about, the door opened widely the familiar auburn hair was the first thing that got my attention. Taylor, she had an evil smile on her face that made her look suspicious. She was definitely up to something.
Someone oddly familiar followed behind her and stepped fully into the office, my breath caught in my throat as I stared at the familiar face of the one who has been occupying my mind. It was too late to pull away the charm bracelet that gives me out as Edward Jones and the name plate on my desk with my full name written on it Hawk D. Andrews.
I followed her eyes to the charm bracelet’s on my hands. The shock on her face made me realize one thing, she just fixed the puzzles together. She is not that stupid.
“I can explain,” I whispered, trying to think of what to say. I have just been caught red-handed.
“Is there something to explain, you have been caught red-handed.” Taylor said, stating the obvious as she smirked at me.
“You don’t know how happy I am to find your sweet Mary at the airport with those little munchkins you call your kids. And guess what, I volunteered to bring them right here, against her will of course.” Taylor said, hissing loudly.
“Now, I want you to tell her right to her face that we are getting married so she can back off permanently Hawk.”
“You are so stupid to have hidden your identity and for what reason. I knew there was something missing when I realized you were still in connection with her, I had to do my own little findings. ”
“Edward.” Mary whispered softly as if she was still trying to process what she just found out.
