A long day

Mary
When my alarm rang this morning, I refused to get up because today was a day I dread. I tried everything possible to make my mum give me the permission to take the day off in school today. But she bluntly refused, giving me lectures about not missing school.
I sighed heavily as I walked down the school hall which was empty. I felt relieved, I made up my mind to start coming late to school, that is if mum allows.
Flashbacks of everything that happened flashed through my mind repeatedly.
“Gosh! I hate him so much.” I muttered to myself.
I rubbed my forehead which already began to ache me, merely thinking about him was giving me a headache. I wished he could just disappear from the surface of the heart.
I still could not believe he was the son Mrs Andrews has been talking about. Hawk Andrews, I scoffed, hissing loudly.
The fear of him telling everyone in school that I was a maid’s daughter made me retreat back into the hallway. I must not be found loitering around the school hallway, but I still didn’t want to enter the class, I was late and what if everyone knows my mum is a maid in the Andrews mansion.
I began to tiptoe trying to locate the janitors room so I could hide there till the period is over. I almost danced immediately I found it, I opened the door and crept inside. It was a very dark room and I didn’t mind the darkness.
Suddenly I saw a shadow, I gasped. The shadow stretched out, yawning loudly. I covered my mouth, trying to prevent any involuntary sounds that might try to escape from my mouth.
I stared at the shadow quietly, hoping it would leave. But it seems like it was not going to leave. My legs were already getting cranked up. I tried stretching it but it hit something which came crashing down loudly.
The shadow got up immediately, and began to walk towards me. I gasped loudly, my heart began to pound, slamming against my chest as if it wanted to hurl itself out of my chest.
The shadow stopped all of a sudden and began to walk away, I breathed a sigh of relief and murmuring an appreciation. I got up, stretched my feet and arms. I was about to move when brightness filled the room all of a sudden. I gasped, as footsteps came closer. The shadow went to switch on the lights.
I didn’t want to look, but I knew I had to. I looked up and I immediately wished I went to class instead of coming here. What type of bad luck is this.
“Look who is here,” he said, raising an eyebrow up at me.
“Did you miss your way or something?” He asked, staring at me bored.
“Wait a minute.” He added pausing.
“You are not following me around, or are you?” He asked, crossing his arms around his chest.
I ogled his huge arms that were bulging through the black armless tank top he was wearing.
“No, I am not.” I squeaked out like a mouse.
“I am not sure you are saying the truth, because I find you everywhere I go.” He whispered, licking his lips. He clicked his tongue as he stared at me.
I played with my fingers as he stared, he didn’t stop staring and I was finding it hard to maintain eye contact with him. His stare was making me feel uncomfortable.
I couldn’t help but wonder what he was doing here alone.
“Mary Davies,” he whispered my name.
“You are still a virgin right?” He asked smirking.
“Hmmmn… Untouched. Innocent. Just like I have always wanted.” He whispered, trailing a finger round my collar bone.
“I am going to have so much fun with you,” he whispered again, kissing my ear lobes.
“So much fun.” He added, stepping away from me. He began to walk towards the door.
“See you tonight.”

It was hard for me to concentrate in class today. Hawk ruined today for me and I regret running into him this morning.
“You don’t look happy,” mum said, observing me closely.
“Mum, I am fine.” I replied her, rolling my eyes.
“I didn’t say you were not fine Mary Elizabeth Davies.” She said, folding her arms around her chest.
I cringed, I dislike it when she calls me by my full name.
“But anyway, I have something to cheer you up.” She said cheerfully.
“Come on, guess what?” She asked, giggling as she rubbed her palms together.
“Mum,” I groaned, facepalming.
“What is it, you know I am not good at guesses.” I drawled out sardonically.
“At least try, there is no harm in trying.” She replied, sticking out her tongue.
“Dad is back?” I asked, not having an idea why I blurted that out.
“Come on Mary, I told you already. Your dad is never coming back.” Mum said, sternly.
“You need to face reality and move on.” She added.
I breathed out air from my mouth, my dad left us to marry a rich woman when I was twelve. I believe he was still going to come back even though I don’t know when.
“You just spoiled my mood Mary,” my mum drawled out.
“I bought you a phone, an android phone.” She added, pushing a small box to me.
I smiled brightly, immediately forgetting about my dad.
“Thank you mum, wow. I never thought you were going to buy me this soon.” I rushed out, opening it in a rush.
It was a techno made phone. I smiled. Now, I can be on social media and do whatever I like with my phone.
“I had it in mind to buy you a new one since your old one stopped working.”
“Thank you mum…” I drawled out. “I love you.”
“I love you more.”
She cleared her throat suddenly, staring at me.
I knew that look and I could recognize it anywhere. She has a question she wants to ask.
“What is it mum?” I asked, rolling my eyes.
“You didn’t tell me what happened last night?”
