Kevin’s POV
I looked at my men, happy to see them. We were all gathered in my room, planning the jail break for Ella.
“That was what happened.” Liam said, finishing the tale of how the count refused to let Ella go.
“The bastard!” Damien hissed.
“We all agree he is.” I chuckled.
“What is your plan, my lord?” Cephas asked.
“I found a way to sneak into the mansion today while I was out. There is a way we can get Ella out without anyone knowing that we were there but she says she has a friend she can’t leave behind.”
Liam smiled. “Just as expected of Ella.
Damien grinned. “That is good. It would be bad if we all come here without having a fight.”
I chuckled, shaking my head in amusement. “You love bloodshed.”
He shook his head in denial. “No, my lord. I only love shedding the blood of arrogant bastards.”
Cephas laughed. “Whatever it is that you say to yourself to make you feel better.”
I cleared. “So this is the plan.” I began, watching as they all stopped talking and snapped to attention, their eyes on me. “Andre and Mika will make the tunnel I found bigger so we could all move faster. I will take you to the place tonight and we should be done digging tomorrow afternoon. We would rest and prepare for the mansion break the next day.”
I swallowed. “Cephas and I will go with Ella to get her friend free from the dungeon. Liam, you will lead the men in the fight that will ensue and clear the path for us when we leave. Augustine and Loki will stay outside the tunnel to take watch. Are we all clear on that?”
“Your orders are all clear, my lord.” The men grinned.
I nodded and leaned back into the chair. I couldn’t wait for it to be dusk so we could get to work.
Liam noticed the expression on my face and smiled. “Operation get the Luna back has started.”
I smiled back at him. Yes, it has.
Ella’s POV
I spread the clothes as fast as I could and ran to the kitchen immediately Kevin left. I had just two days to leave here. I had known I was going to leave here the minute I saw Kevin at that banquet but having a date placed on it made me feel giddy.
I was excited and feeling reckless at the same time. I walked, looking at the walls and room as I made my way to the kitchen. I wasn’t going to miss this place, not one bit.
“I’m done spreading the clothes.” I said to the butler as I walked into the kitchen.
He was supervising dinner with a huge scowl on his face and busy distracting the chefs. I wondered why he bothered staying here when he wasn’t helping out and being a nuisance.
Everyone always breathed well when he wasn’t around.
“Join them.” He snapped at me.
“There is no need for her to join us.” The chef announced as I moved inside the kitchen. “The food is ready.”
“Give her the food for the bitch in the dungeon.” He said to the chef. “The count wants the attention of the slave who is meant to take it to it.”
I hid my smile. I could have kissed the butler at that moment if I didn’t detest him so much. I already planned to sneak into the dungeon later in the night. Now, I didn’t have to do that.
“I wasn’t expecting you today.” The angel said as I approached her.
“I came because I realized I don’t know your name.” I smiled as I placed her food before her.
She seemed taken aback and stared at me for minutes. “Dalsa. My name is Dalsa”
“Dalsa. Your name is beautiful.”
“Thank you.” She smiled, sheen of tears coating her eyes. “I never thought I would say it out loud again. No one seems to care here.”
“Dalsa, we are getting out of here in the next two days. Be prepared.”
“We are?” She sat up, her eyes wide with surprise and excitement.
“Yes. My mate is coming to get me out. I told him I wouldn’t leave without you. Don’t be alarmed if you see me coming in with some men that day.”
She reached out her hands to me and patted it. “Thank you, Ella. Thank you.”
“Eat and be strong.” I patted her hands before letting go of them. “Be yourself but give anything away. Don’t do anything that will seem suspicious.”
She chuckled, full of life. “I won’t. I’m glad hope and freedom is not far from us.”
“See you that day.” I got uo and waved to her as I walked out of the dungeon.
“What were you doing in there for so long? You should have been out since? You don’t have to be friends with her.”
I jumped in fright as I got out of the dungeon and saw the butler waiting for me. I wasn’t expecting him to be there.
“I’m sorry.” I said, smirking as I walked past him. Very soon, I wouldn’t have to see his face.
