Juliana’s pov:
It has been months now since I left the palace, and it has been months since I haven’t heard from Ryan.
I am almost changing back to my old self, my long pink flowy hair is coming out. Though my face hasn’t changed, my hair and skin are returning to their old self.
I have been wandering around the woods for months now without any destination.
I fed on the dead critters and fruits, it hasn’t been easy but I know that I made the right decision.
Ryan wants the mystery girl to die and that means me, I don’t want to see the disgust on his face for me when he finds out.
I have looked for the old woman that changed me for months now but I couldn’t remember the path that leads to her cave.
I sighed and got up from where I was sitting before walking inside the woods for a hunt.
Striding inside, I heard a group of people discussing about the king and that got my attention and at the same time made me curious.
Inching closer, I hide in a huge tree as I eavesdrop on their conversation.
“I can’t believe that this is how we are going to lose our king,”
My heart banged on that word, what is happening to Ryan?
“Despite everything no sorceresses or witches were able to heal him,”
My heart flipped at their words, I couldn’t control the urge again and I stepped forward.
They jerked up as they weren’t expecting anybody there but I ignored their wide looks and walked closer to them.
“What is happening to Ry……. I mean the king,” I said with difficulty.
“Who are you?” One of the men there asked.
“Please just tell me,” I pleaded.
He sighed and scanned me from head to toe. I know that I looked terrible but that’s not why I am here.
“He is suffering from an unknown illness,”
I lurched at his words, what is he talking about? That Ryan is suffering from an unknown illness.
What could have caused the illness?
Tears were pooling from my eyes as I glanced around in confusion.
“Hey! What is wrong with you?” One of them asked me but I ignored him and started striding back with tears rolling down my face wetting my cheeks.
And before I knew it, I turned around and started running in the direction of the black storm pack.
It took me some days before I reached the pack, I knocked furiously on the gate. The guards pulled it open and led me inside.
On seeing me, I watched as Liam rushed towards me and engulfed me in a tight hug. I was surprised by his sudden behavior but right now I think that I needed that hug.
Breaking the hug and by now my tears have drenched his shirt but he cares not.
He intertwined our hands before leading me to Ryan’s room, slightly opening the door. I felt dreads wash over me.
Sitting beside his bed were Queen Rebecca and Bianca, I froze at my spot as I noticed Queen Rebecca rushing toward me and pulling me in a tight hug.
Their sudden behavior kind of started scaring me, these were those people that want nothing but my pain though except Liam.
“Hmmm…….” Bianca grunted with tight lips before walking out of the room.
Like always, she never liked me. So I wasn’t surprised to see the cold shoulder that she was giving me.
“Do you want to eat and change before you heal your heartbeat?” Queen Rebecca cried out as she glanced at me and Ryan.
I was taken aback by her words, heartbeat.!
Did she call Ryan my heartbeat? I thought that she never wanted us together, everyone is acting strange and this is having me confused.
I ignored her and walked over to Ryan, he seemed peaceful with his eyes closed. I don’t know what to do.
I might be a healer by nature but I haven’t performed before without my wolf’s presence. And this had me scared and at the same time confused.
I don’t think that I will survive it if anything should happen to Ryan, I traced my hands on his face as I watched him lying there without saying anything.
Lifting my head, Liam nodded at me encouragingly before walking out with Queen Rebecca and shutting the door on their way out.
I stared at Ryan for a while not knowing what to do or how to start, I touched his pulse and noticed that it was almost fading away and that caused fear to slip inside me.
I folded my legs with my hands stretched out.
I swallowed as I closed my eyes.
I wanted to give it a try, so I started murmuring some odd words. After hours of murmuring out words, still, nothing happened.
Ryan was still lying down just as I met him before. Tears spurned out from my eyes as I glanced at him.
“Ryan, please don’t do this to me,” I cried out.
Leaning closer to him, so that our forehead could touch. I sob furiously with my two hands holding his chin.
I cried as I recalled our memories, the beautiful times that we shared together.
The smile on his face whenever we stared at each other, the way that he cares for me.
“Ah!” I cried out in pain as tears kept spurning out of my eyes.
As a drop of tear rolled out of my eyes, it sprinkled on his forehead causing the particular spot to glitter in whitish color before changing to his skin color.
Seeing what happened, I backed away in shock and confusion. I noticed his eyes twitch slightly with his two hands moving.
I wanted to scream and called his mother and Liam but I felt weak, it was as if I exhausted all my energy on him.
My head is spinning with my vision becoming blurry, I stumbled and held his bed frame for support.
I smile as I notice him trying to open his eyes but before he could open his eyes, I fell to the floor unconscious.
