Ryan’s pov:
“What nonsense are you all talking about that!”
I yelled furiously to my warriors as they all stood in my chamber. I am shadowed with rage and anger.
“What do you all mean that none of you have seen her?” I massaged my temple in frustration.
“I instructed you, people, to turn this realm upside down and find her!!”
“There is no way that she will go missing all of a sudden without any trace!!” I thundered, causing them to flinch back.
I am shaking in fury and anger.
My thesaurus can’t just go missing like that, what happened?
Our last moment was in my study though she acted strange but still, I didn’t expect her to go missing.
“The last time that I remembered, heavy guards were placed at the entrance gate. So tell me how she was able to escape without anyone’s knowledge!!” Liam barked.
“We are sorry but we couldn’t explain what happened,” my head warrior apologized.
I snapped my head at him, “Will your apology undo the deed?”
“Because of your careless attitude my mate!” The last word got stocked at my lips, I sighed with bitterness and looked away.
“Everyone has to go in search of her both in the woods and all packs!” Liam instructed.
“If any Alpha or anybody refuses to let you, people, into their entrance, shit down the pack and have the person’s head cut off!!!!” I yelled.
Tiny beads of sweat are dripping down my face, I seemed annoyed and at the edge of strangling someone to death.
“Yes! Our king, your wish is our command!” They bowed before turning to leave.
“Wait!” I said, causing them to halt at their track.
“I will be coming with you people,” I was annoyed, eating a surprised look from them.
“But my king, she is just an omega, I don’t think that is not enough reason for you to be this worked up,” one of my warriors said, causing a growl to erupt from my lips.
“And I don’t think that it is a good……
“Ahh!” He didn’t get to finish before I smashed his head and pulled it out of his body.
“Wow!!” Everyone was aghast including Liam as his lifeless body fell on the floor.
Blood zooming out of his body, nobody talks I’ll of my mate. I am looking for my mate and he has the gut to say that she wasn’t important.
“Clear that mess!!” I yelled at them before walking out of the room.
I noticed Liam instructed one of the warriors to inform us once they are done before following me behind.
We walked side by side without uttering any word, my face contorted in anger and rage.
My fist is clenched tight as I seemed very annoyed to even think straight.
I strode toward my study and tried slamming the door but Liam held it and walked in before closing it.
I sighed and plopped myself on the couch with anger, the memories that we created here started replaying in my head.
She has gone missing for days now without any news from the other side.
I miss her so much, my whole being felt empty without her by my side.
Ethan has been restless since that day up till now.
My mind glazed in thought as I still don’t know why she acted that way the previous day before her absence.
“What could be bothering her?
“Did I do something wrong? If I did she could tell me and let me amend it instead of running away.
“Is she afraid of the mystery girl but I promised her to protect her even if it is with my last breath?
I felt shattered and in pain.
“Hey! Bro, instead of dwelling in pain why not we go and seek permission from anywhere,” Liam said.
“But where?” I asked in a muffled tone.
“Anywhere like visiting the witch mother, Caro, to know if she might know her way out,” he reasoned.
“But the last time that I visited, it didn’t end well,”
“Let’s just give it a try, we are just seeking a solution and you don’t expect me to sit down and watch you depressed,” he said with worry.
“Fine! I think that we should go then,” I said before standing up and walking out of my room with Liam.
We entered one of our trucks and drove off to the destination.
..
Reaching the cave, it was as quiet as before. Scary and creepy, I spared Liam a glance, and he nodded at me.
We both started walking inside the cave, and only the sound of our footsteps could be heard.
Standing in front of the small room that I entered the other day with my mom, I knocked but no response. I knocked again and before I could give another knock I felt the door swirl open.
I exchange a look with Liam before striding inside.
“Have a seat my king and humble beta,” an old woman sitting beside a fire, muttered.
I bowed slightly and sat down, Liam took a seat beside me.
“Is she Cora?” He whispered, earning a small nod from me.
“Nice meeting you again, my king,” she smiled.
“Same,” I said with an emotionless voice
“I think that I should get straight to the point,” I said, leaving no room for an argument.
“I am looking for my…… ” I swallowed the word mate instantly before it could roll out of my lips.
“I am worried,” I said instead.
“What have you worried about, my king?” She asked.
I arched my eyebrow at her, “Since you are the witch mother, I think that you should know better,”
She smiled and turned to Liam, “Please can you excuse us,”
He nodded and patted me on the shoulder before standing up and exiting the room.
“You are looking for your mate,” she said, receiving a nod from me.
“Hmmm…… interesting,” she said.
“She will return when a tragedy strikes the palace,”
“What are you talking about?”
“She is your light and healer,”
“Stop speaking in riddles,”
“She will be your healer but you people will face a lot of obstacles on your way but I am begging you…….”
“Begging me what?”
“To be careful so that your mate won’t die under your sword,”
Her words took me unawares, how is that possible?
I can”t even hurt her, talk more of killing her.
What is actually going on? Everything seemed odd to me.
What tragedy is she talking about?
