Ryan’s pov:
The erratic of my heart makes it so hard for me to concentrate on the meeting that was going on. Tapping my head on the edge of the table with my other hand below my jaw, I pondered on the reason behind my unusual restlessness. The fast rate at which my heart beats had me concerned. Ethan hasn’t spoken to me since the incident and I know that he is still angry with me. I couldn’t do anything, the deed has been done already.
I felt a fire ignite in me, I feel fucking restless and at the same time worried. It was as if my heart was calling me somewhere else, my heart and body yarns to be near Ashley. I could feel her pain which confuses me because she doesn’t recognize the bond. I could feel her heartbroken tears, I knew that I am the reason and that hurt the shit out of me.
She doesn’t have a wolf so how was she able to feel any pain?
This is strange, she always ends up confusing me…….. I swallowed hard with difficulty. I know that she isn’t okay but I still don’t know how to go about this. How do I exit this meeting without creating any awareness? I can feel that she is still in pain but how do I help her subside it? How do I revise what I did? Planning on how to leave the goddamn place, I wasn’t even into their conversation. I can hear their argument, I wanted to use the opportunity to sneak out before a feminine voice called for my attention.
“Do you also agree with the plan, King Ryan?” Her slutty tone makes me feel squeamish. I stilled a bit before my eyes connected with her. She looks good, I won’t deny that but I have only got an eye for one person which is my mate! My thesaurus.
She had a mischievous smile across her lips, okay that’s it before she might start thinking that I am gawking at her. The argument had died down as every goddamn attention was fixed on me. I swallowed hard and cursed the she-wolf under my breath. How am I to answer her question when I didn’t even know what they were talking about?
But wait! I thought that I instructed only Alphas to attend the meeting, so what is she doing here? Does she think that she has the right to walk inside this conference room and sit down in all her glory to question me?
My face hardened in anger as I coldly said “What are you doing here?”
“You called for a meeting, remember?” She winked with a slutty smirk. Everyone shifted uncomfortably as they spared each other a quick gaze. My face deepened in irritation and disgust, I don’t think that I can also put up with this shameless whore here, not after what transpired between me and Bianca a few hours ago.
“I know that I authorized everyone to come to the meeting!” I snarled. “But the last time that I checked……. You aren’t an Alpha, so what makes you think that your presence is needed here?” I don’t know but I have already despised her.
“Ohh!” She laughed it out with her hands. “My husband, Lucien the Alpha of the bright moon pack, went for a check because of his leg……. So he couldn’t make it and I decided to go on his behalf,” she finishes with a dazzling smirk on her lips.
The mention of the pack angers me, so of all today that Lucien knew that he will go for a check-up. I fume in resentment and anger.
“I made a strict rule for all Alphas to be present and that silly idiot thinks that he will use today for the check,” I bashed my hands on the table causing every single soul to flinch back. I dangerously glared at her.
“What do you think that your presence could offer here? What silly idea do you have?” Leaning a bit forward, I snarled dangerously. Everyone lowered their heads in fear except this seamless whore whose face glimmered with a seductive smirk.
“I know a lot more about that creature than you all could imagine,” she voiced, drawing everyone’s attention. My brow arched up in disgust as I coldly glared at her.
“What do you know?” I asked with a voice void of no emotions.
Clearing her throat seductively, I watched as her lashes brushed together in an impish way before she relaxed on her chair. “We were friends after she got ousted from the moonlight pack,” she announced, earning murmuring from everyone.
Liam glanced at me before looking away. A vicious smile crept into my lips before it was replaced with raw anger.
“Aren’t the lady that stabbed her friend in the back just to have what she has?” I slur malevolently with a blank expression.
Her face saddened, but not long before a seductive smirk crept across her lips glinting her eyes. “She is a curse and doesn’t deserve anything good,” she spits with venom.
“How dare you!!” I unexpectedly growled madly at her causing everyone to wince back in fear. The so-called woman flinches back before glaring at me. Regaining themselves they suspiciously gazed at me. What just happened? I murmured to myself.
What have I done? Why did her words hurt me? What’s my concern even if she insults the mystery girl? I shut my eyes before releasing a deep breath.
“Fine!” I state with my eyes snapped open.
“But that doesn’t make you any better,” I taunt not minding their wild stares.
“It makes me better because the feelings were mutual. Lucien has never loved her but ME!!” she stressed the last word with a taunting brow.
“Huh,” I grunt when nodding my head before my cold expression slipped into its normal spot “Your husband will hear from me for defying my orders…..” I rumbled, startling everyone.
Everywhere suddenly went quiet, and the atmosphere became tense that you could hear a pin drop. “Let the meeting begin…….
I couldn’t complete my words as I heard bickering going on outside. The noise was disturbing which annoys the shit out of me, my face turned ice cold causing a deep frown to slip across the skin in between my forehead. With a terrifying tone, I yelled “Who the fuck is that!!”
“Don’t you know that there’s a meeting going on here?” I screeched in anger. Everywhere dead down immediately even the murmuring but the bickering continued after a while. I swear to deal with whosoever that is causing that alteration out there disturbing my damn peace.
“That’s it I have had enough,” I murmured to myself before standing up to open the door but Liam beat me to it. He stood up and rushed to the door and pulled it open. My face steeled as I watched Bianca push Liam out of the door and make her way inside, everyone had a look of surprise and curiosity on their faces. Murmuring started arising again.
Suddenly to my utmost surprise, my hair stood up…….. The beating of my heart accelerates, and I evolve with nervousness. I became restless as I felt Ethan’s attention fixed on the door waiting for who else to walk in and before I could react to the situation. Ashley walked in with her head lowered.
