It was dark and stormy outside, I stood at the edge of the scary cave of a hunted den. The cave was dark with only the crystal balls illuminating out light, as they cast a dim reflection on the cave brightening the place a bit. The whole place looks scary and weird, I thrived, but I maintained my posture as my mother spares me a glance.
At the entrance of the cave, the face of mother Shipton was engraved on it, the mother of all witches. A good friend of Selena the mother of werewolves, Queen Shipton was also called Aradia meaning queen of witches. Turning to my left, Hecate was also engraved on the wall. The chief goddess presiding over magic and spells, she is a great goddess capable of both good and evil. She was associated with witchcraft, magic, the Moon, doorways, and creatures of the night like hell-hounds and ghosts.
It looks like Cora is a powerful witch, no wonder my mother is always at her back and forth. I sighed before entering inside with my mother, who seemed pleased with the interior of the cave. Though the inside is not that bright still, I could see a lot of goddesses and witches’ heads carved on the wall. With my hands inside my pocket, I stride behind my mother toward Cora’s chamber. The present witch mother on earth.
“You came, my king!” I heard a voice, the voice echoed the whole place, startling me.
“You okay,” my mother muttered.
“Of course, more than you could imagine,” with a forced smile, I mumbled.
“Oh! I see,” my mom said as I gave her my megawatt smile.
“Oh! God, I am fucking damn scared here. I am shrinking in fear, how can I hear a voice from noway?” I mumbled nervously within.
“Calm down, they will notice that you are shrinking out,” my wolf, Ethan, said.
“Yes, you are right,” chuckling. I comported myself, my mother spares me a quick glance but I diverted my attention elsewhere to avoid her seeing through me or sensing my fear.
“You are welcome my queen mother and our destined great king,” hearing the word, I instantly turned around with my mother. And there, I mean right there……. I saw the present witch, the only surviving one on earth according to what they said. She is kneeling with her head cast down when waiting for my command to stand up.
“You can now stand,” I said in my Lycan tone.
Standing up, she nods slightly at my mother before moving to our front, toward her chair that is more like her throne.
“The king and my queen mother, you two can now sit,” she uttered. I still wonder why she has to be the first to sit before her guests, especially from a loyal rank.
“Maybe it is a tradition,” Ethan reasoned.
“Thinking the same,” I mumbled.
“What brought you two here under this hot scourging sun?” Staring us dead in the eye, she asked. Normally, she was an old woman. I sometimes wonder how she copes without a maid or anyone besides her. She is aging and needs help from at least someone that will be running errands for her.
“We came because my son has been having a lot of series of dreams this day, which is confusing,”
“The same dream every single time,” my mother explained.
“The same dream!!” She mumbled.
“Do you understand the dream?” She asked.
“If I do then I won’t be here now for answers,” I said more sarcastically.
“Interesting?” She mumbled almost to herself.
Closing her eyes, with her palms wide sprayed. Her eyelid twitches up, as she starts murmuring out some words.
“Greetings Shipton mother of all witches and Hecate the chief goddess presiding over magic and spells, I call upon you people as I thanked you two for your guidance in our various lives. Great women with witchcraft, magic, the Moon, doorways, and creatures of the night like hell-hounds and ghosts…….
“Hecate, the mother of the doorways, guides my door and protects me, and shuts off any door that will lead to my destruction……. Shipton, Aradia, and queen of all witches…..
“Powerful mother, a mysterious queen, a great one let your power and presence invade here. Put all your knowledge in my palms and let your power flow through me,” not sooner than she has finished the whole place swirling violently. The place ignited as the crystal balls shone brightly.
I almost fell off my chair but I maintained myself as my eyes went wide and my mouth agape, it seemed like I wasn’t the only one as my mother had the same look on her face. I have heard stories about this witch Cora but I haven’t witnessed her mightiness with my two eyes. She seems strong to have consulted the spirit of the great witches Shipton and Hecate.
“What do you expect from the last witch standing?” Ethan muttered.
“My king, the girl in your dream calls you and so shall you answer her…….. ”
I and my mother shared a confused look before focusing back on her without interrupting her.
“She is crying, whimpering, and in agony. She seeks for you, she is leaving in pain and grief……. But only you can save her, the power within is of good and evil to the extent that when wrongly used can destroy the whole world. Her heart wails for you, and the same applies to yours,” she blurted out.
“But I don’t even know who she is?” I complain.
“Huh!” She laughed.
“You will know at the right time, the time that you two are prepared to meet till then,” she uttered.
“This is confusing and strange,” I murmured, my mother nodded at me in understanding. This is not what I was expecting to hear, she is speaking in riddles instead of saying the truth. Her words scared me and at the time kept me at the edge of knowing who she was.
“But how can we meet?” I asked.
“At the right time,” that was her only reply.
“Fine! Then what about my mate, can I ever have a mate?” I asked despite the sickening glares that my mother stares at me in nothing but I feel strange.
“You will find your mate, sooner than you least expected……. But the issue is,” she paused as she swallowed hard.
“If care is not taken, your mate will die under your sword,” immediately the word slipped out of her lips, it frightened me as the blood drained out of my body.
“It can’t possibly be true……..
