A single sentence, like an insurmountable chasm, stood between the two of them.
They could no longer be together.
“I understand.”
“Goodbye.”
Tilda lowered her head and left, not knowing where to go, but she still hailed a taxi and got in.
Even as the car drove away, she didn’t dare to look back at Johnny.
“Where are we going, miss?”
“Just keep driving straight, drive around the area, and then come back.”
The taxi driver glanced at Tilda through the rearview mirror and let out a sigh before stepping on the gas and driving forward.
After the car had driven for a while, Tilda began to shed tears.
She couldn’t hold back her tears…
Seeing how heartbroken she was, the driver silently handed her a tissue. “Here, wipe your tears.”
“Thank you…”
With red eyes, Tilda cried so hard that even her breaths were accompanied by hiccups.
The car drove forward for more than ten minutes before taking a detour back to Central Union Hospital.
Johnny was no longer there. Tilda specifically looked and saw that his car was gone too, so he must have left.
Before getting out of the car, the driver thoughtfully gave her a few more tissues.
“Don’t cry over a man. It’s not worth it!”
“Thank you.”
Tilda took the tissues and turned back to the obstetrics and gynecology department.
“Hello, I’d like to make an appointment for an abortion procedure.”
…
Malcolm had already contacted several good lawyers at home on Rosalind’s behalf, thinking that this time it should go smoothly.
But as soon as the other party heard that they would be suing the Walters family, they immediately refused!
“Ms. Ruell, our law firm is small-time. We can’t afford to get involved in such a big mess!”
The legal team of W Group was well-known in the industry.
Since they had already said that, Rosalind couldn’t force them. They had made up their mind not to take the case.
“Well then, sorry for bothering you.”
“It’s us who should be sorry! Ms. Ruell, you seem to be a good person, so here is my advice-it’s probably best not to sue the Walters family. The chances of winning are slim! I’ve taken a look at the evidence you offer. Honestly speaking, with what you have, you could easily demand a sum of money from W Group and live a good life with that…”
“I appreciate your concern.”
But what she wanted wasn’t just to live a good life.
After hanging up the phone, Rosalind got up and started packing her things.
Tomorrow, she would leave Sweden. Even though her flight was in the afternoon, she needed to get ready early.
Since returning to the ward, she hadn’t seen Ulric anywhere.
Rosalind thought he must be busy or perhaps had nothing more to say to her. When she went out, she ran into Rebecca.
Rebecca said, “Mr. Walters went back to Nova Zealandia. He just left. I’m leaving tomorrow too.”
“He left?”
“Yes! Didn’t he tell you?” Rebecca seemed surprised.
Rosalind pursed her lips and felt awkward no matter how she answered.
Rebecca was smart enough to figure out that something was off with the couple.
After a moment of silence, she spoke up again, “You’ve made your choice, and don’t regret it.”
“Yes.”
“To be honest, I envy you for having Mr. Walters’ passionate love. But I also feel sorry for you being caught in such a dilemma. If I were you, I couldn’t make up my mind.”
Even if Rebecca didn’t have such deep feelings for her own parents, she would still avenge them if they were murdered.
