“Alright! Go handle it!”
“I’ll accompany Dr. Rivers to the backyard!”
Paxton exchanged a few polite words with two elders from Sleeve before leading Dr. Rivers to the backyard. He didn’t spare a second thought for Flynn, the wayward child. Breaking through the secrets of the medical texts was far more important.
After witnessing the grandeur of Lord Valerian Nox, Paxton was determined to see Vicente Clark reach that same pinnacle-admired by thousands, renowned across the land. A future where the Clark family would enjoy a century of stability and prosperity.
“Have you found Flynn’s residence?” Tessa Watson glanced at Mike Clark and asked calmly.
“Yes, we have! He’s staying at Indigo Grove Estate!”
Viola Brightmoon burst into the Clark family courtyard, her voice trembling with urgency.
“Good! Spread the word-mobilize all Clark family bodyguards and block every road leading down from Indigo Grove Estate.”
“We’re heading there now!” Tessa’s face hardened with determination as she issued the command.
Viola stepped closer, her body bent in submission, her tone pitiful. “Madam, my son was beaten so badly by Flynn. Every bone in his body is shattered! He’s living in agony!”
“Can you leave Flynn to me? I want to break every bone in his body!”
Arthur Everett spoke up. “Madam, Flynn possesses a body-enhancing formula that caused a rapid transformation in The Edge, leading them to secure first place in the military exercises.”
“If this formula is applied to the military, it could significantly bolster our soldiers’ capabilities.”
“Talon Emberhart suggests sparing his life if he hands over the formula. Perhaps just breaking one of his arms will suffice?”
After meeting with Mike Clark yesterday, Arthur Everett had called Talon Emberhart. Talon saw an opportunity-disciplining Flynn while obtaining the formula. A win-win scenario.
If The Edge retained the formula and shared it with Maxwell Grey’s Flame Dragon, Black Phoenix, and other military zones allied with him, it would spell doom for Havoc Strikeforce and its allies.
Milton Gray chuckled. “Your son is also undergoing advanced training, isn’t he?”
“While we can’t guarantee this formula benefits high-level practitioners, I’m sure your son would want to give it a try.”
“Of course! This was Talon Emberhart’s suggestion. We’re merely observers in this matter and won’t interfere with your private affairs. Ultimately, the decision on how to handle Flynn rests with you.”
The Edge took first place?
Tessa Watson was momentarily stunned before smiling faintly. “You’ve misunderstood. I actually share the same view.”
“Brody Brightmoon was in the wrong first. Demanding Flynn hand over the body-enhancing formula in exchange for forgiveness is perfectly reasonable.”
“After all, no matter how reckless Flynn is, he carries Paxton’s blood. I can’t kill him.”
Tessa was well aware of the military’s internal feuds and knew of The Edge’s body-enhancing formula. However, she hadn’t expected its effectiveness to be so extraordinary, leading The Edge to victory. Talon Emberhart’s suggestion now seemed even more reasonable-it could also benefit Vicente Clark.
Most importantly, Mike Clark was Talon Emberhart’s man. Additionally, a relative of the Watson family held a position in Sleeve. Granting Sleeve’s request would earn the Clark family a favor from Talon Emberhart.
From every angle, sparing Flynn’s life seemed the logical choice.
Tessa, ever sharp, had already discerned Arthur Everett’s and Milton Gray’s intentions. They offered their opinions but distanced themselves from the matter, unwilling to dirty their hands. The Clark family would have to play the villain.
Two sly foxes!
They wanted the benefits while avoiding the blame. How cleanly they washed their hands of it!
“What? Just breaking one arm? This… this…” Viola Brightmoon’s face twisted in frustration.
Tessa frowned, her voice cold. “Are you questioning my decision?”
“No, no! Everything will go according to your wishes, Madam!” Viola blanched, lowering her head in fear.
Having served the Clark family for over two decades, Viola knew all too well how ruthless Tessa Watson could be. Adrianna and her son’s rise was entirely due to this woman’s schemes. There was no way Viola would dare offend her.
If Tessa Watson could tolerate it, what could Viola possibly say? Compared to the interests of the Clark family, her son’s life was insignificant.
The group boarded their cars and set off in a grand procession toward Indigo Grove Estate.
At the same time, in a luxury hotel in Slatin, Wayne was hosting a celebratory banquet for Madeline.
The same group from yesterday was in attendance, but their attitude toward Madeline had done a complete 180.
Madeline, who had just arrived in Slatin, had dared to approach Titan Holdings for a partnership-and succeeded. She was now the shining star of DreamDollars Investments.
In their circle, hers was the only company to collaborate with Titan Holdings. Even Cora Caldwell, the wealthiest woman in the region, hadn’t managed such a feat.
By comparison, Madeline was a rare genius in the business world. Everyone looked at her with newfound respect.
Titan Holdings’ investment complemented their current needs, but it was Madeline’s unparalleled eloquence that sealed the deal. To them, her success could only be attributed to her:
Her sharp business acumen,
Her boldness and courage,
Her commanding presence.
Madeline’s name now echoed throughout Slatin’s elite circles. Heads of powerful families praised her, while the younger generation envied her. She had become a rising star, her future boundless.
Seated beside Layla, with Cora Caldwell on her left and Madeline on her right, Layla felt an unprecedented sense of pride.
Madeline raised her glass to toast everyone, poised and confident.
Dad, are you seeing this?
I’m sitting next to Layla. Even Cora Caldwell toasted me!
Flynn, are you watching?
I’m the one you should look up to! I’m the one with a future! Stop relying on shortcuts and learn from me. Otherwise, I’ll soon leave you far behind.
Even as a Semi Lesser Sovereign, Flynn couldn’t compare to her current achievements. With her current standing, she could easily command the Ambrose family’s Sovereign-level bodyguards-they would all respect her.
Layla glanced at Madeline, unable to suppress her thoughts. Why is there such a stark contrast between people?
Both came from the small town of Niarak. One was wild and aimless, relying only on clever tricks and shortcuts, with no solid foundation. The other endured hardships, turned mockery into motivation, and achieved greatness.
The difference was stark.
Flynn’s talent in medicine and martial arts was utterly wasted on him. Anyone else would have sought to align with a powerful family, striving to rise to the top. But Flynn? Impossible to reason with. Impossible to advise.
The moment something displeased him, he resorted to violence.
He’d only just arrived in Slatin and had already caused a major incident, crippling two heirs from prominent families.
He’s beyond saving.
Layla’s expression turned cold as she spoke. “I heard Viola Brightmoon went to complain to the Clark family yesterday.”
“How are they handling the situation?”
Wayne sipped his wine, sneering. “Just got the news-Mrs. Clark is on her way to Indigo Grove Estate with her people. That boy is as good as dead.”
“What?” Madeline’s hand trembled, her face filled with panic. “The Clark family is going after Flynn?”
“No, I have to stop this! If Flynn dies, my dad will be devastated!”
“That idiot never stops causing trouble!”
Madeline dashed out of the private room, heading straight for Indigo Grove Estate.
“Stop it? With Mrs. Clark’s temper, who could possibly stop her? Even Mr. Clark can’t!”
“After what Flynn did to Brody Brightmoon, he’s not walking away alive!”
“Shall we go watch?”
“Let’s go! Let’s see how that boy meets his end!”
The group hurried downstairs.
Layla hesitated for a moment before following, her face icy.
Flynn, you wanted to teach the Clark and Woods families a lesson? Let’s see how you survive this ordeal!
