I pushed his hands away, looking down, “Since when did you start to feel this way towards me? I never realized it.”
He paused for a second before replying, “I don’t know myself. Maybe since the first day you joined. I kept watching you very closely. But I knew you didn’t feel the same way about me. That’s why I had to resort to such a plan.”
“Plan?” I looked up at him in confusion, “What plan?”
“The plan of making you my girlfriend, by any means.” He adds, gazing into my eyes. “And that’s why I had set up my pieces one by one. To earn your trust and keep you close by.”
His words made no sense to me. “Setting up pieces? What exactly are you trying to say here? I don’t understand.”
He smiled, leaning against the railings, “Remember that one time, when you first joined, everyone in the class was just hating on you? Calling you stuck up and arrogant and whatnot?”
“What about it?”
“I was the one who had spread that rumor about you. So that I could isolate you from the rest of the students.”
He did what? Why would he do that?
“Then, I defended you in front of those girls and became the hero in your eyes and your friend also. But knew that wasn’t enough to make you trust me completely, so my next move was during the opening party, where you were in a difficult situation, harassed by those upper-class men. I kind of knew what kind of people they were, but I left you alone with them to let the situation unfold further. And right when the situation became heated, I made my entry, saving you from the depths of despair. I became a godlike figure in your eyes at that time, the true friend you ever hoped for.”
Then, there was no generosity in his actions? No genuineness that I liked about him? All of that was fake? A pretense to earn my trust?
“Are you surprised? Well, don’t be,” he chuckled. “But, judging by this, you can expect my next move. Yes, it was at the party at my home. When you felt too awkward to socialize, I gave you the courage to make friends with your classmates. I even used the games as an excuse to show up at your house and”
“Shut up! I don’t want to hear anything anymore!” I yelled, unable to control my anger. “I can’t believe you would do something like this just to”
“Make you, my girlfriend? Yeah, what’s wrong with it? I don’t see any harm, do you? As the saying goes, everything is fair in love and war. So, what I did to make you fall for me is justified as well.” He replied, gazing at me.
“You can’t justify this no matter how you feel about me. This is manipulation and betrayal! You made use of my emotions and are now playing dirty using the pictures. Do you even realize how much low you’ve stooped to fulfill your selfish wishes?”
My chest tightened, and I could feel a little bit of pain inside, e also. Rosalia and him were my first friends after coming to this college. And here, he’s being like this for real. I can’t just accept this in any way.
“Selfish?” he remarks, walking over to my side to hold my face with both his hands, “So, what if I’m selfish? How else was I supposed to make you look my way? Make you my woman? Even if you hate me for it, I don’t mind. I can bear this much hate from you to become your boyfriend.”
I looked into his face, feeling the anger rising within, “You realize you aren’t sane, right?”
“Hm…. pretty much. So, what is your answer going to be? Do you wish to become my woman, or do you want me to show these pictures to all of our classmates, ruining the reputation of the Alpha? If you agree to my proposal, you’ll not be allowed to tell anyone about our deal, not even the Alpha, so keep that in mind.”
“And if you do tell anyone, I’ll make sure that everyone in our pack knows about your affair. Now, that’ll be fun, don’t you think? I’ll make sure to know about your mother’s opinion on this matter as well.”
Mom’s face suddenly flashed into my mind. If everyone in the world had found out about me and Dave….. how would Grandpa and his wife, Sarah, react to it?
But I can’t give any answer without consulting Dave about it either. I need to know what he wants to do, and yet I’m not supposed to tell anyone about it.
What kind of an ordeal is this?
How do I get out of this situation? Do I have to lose Dave for his own good? The thought of him not being by my side scares me to death, especially in situations like this, where I can’t do anything without him.
I was the one who fought against Dave for Skylar. And yet, he backstabbed me like this. I was the foolish one all along. You were right in telling me to stay away from him.
“If you want, I can help you beat him up. Do you want to shift?” Kiki asked.
Beat him up? I’m not good at fighting. And if he has the pictures stored somewhere else, how would I know about it then?
Going against him doesn’t sound like a good idea at this moment. I need to think of something on my own.
“Hurry up and tell me what you want to do. I don’t have the whole day,” He whined, playing with my hair. “Or do you need more time to think?”
“I can’t believe someone would be so much desperate for love. This is my first time seeing one, And I hope it’s the last.” I replied, pushing his hand away.
I have to stay brave, or else he’ll think I’m weak. I won’t let him think that.
His expression turned sour the very minute. “Desperate? So, what if I am? It’s your fault for making me fall for you, for your kindness. Then, how can you blame me for it? If you had stayed that stuck up from the very beginning, I would’ve definitely given up on you.”
“But, you didn’t, so all the more reason for you to become mine. I always get what I want, all the more if it’s a girl.”
