TIFFANY’S POV
She kept blushing as Shawn left for work. She couldn’t believe she had finally had sex with a man. She was glad she did it with someone she had grown to love, and was more glad he felt the same way.
Gently, she got off the bed. Despite the soreness she was feeling underneath, she took off the stained duvet and bed sheet. She replaced the bed with fresh ones before walking to her room with the used ones. She slipped on a robe and walked downstairs to the laundry room to wash them. After washing them, she took them out to dry before returning to her room.
She ran herself a hot bath after which she immersed herself in it, letting the hotness soothe her soreness. After she was done, she walked to the room to get dressed after which she walked downstairs to fix herself breakfast.
She had oats and strawberries after which she cleared the table and went up to her room to read.
She curled up on the bed, the textbook in her hands as she immersed herself in reading. An hour later, the words blurred together as exhaustion took over, lulling her into a deep slumber. She woke up hours later and opened her eyes to find herself still on the bed, the book now lying closed on her lap.
Rubbing the sleep from her eyes, she stretched her arms and legs before slowly getting up. She made her way downstairs with a longing for some relaxation.
She decided to have a dip in the pool. She changed into her swimsuit and made her way to the backyard. As she dived in, her body relaxed at the cooling effect it brought it.
After a few minutes of refreshing swim, she emerged from the pool, droplets of water glistening on her skin. She wrapped a towel around herself and made her way back into the house. The rumbling in her stomach reminded her that it was time for lunch.
In the kitchen, she made a sandwich filled with fresh vegetables and turkey, paired with a glass of juice.
Done with lunch, she cleaned up the kitchen and returned to her room. Tired of reading she stayed idle as loneliness hit her. Then she glanced at the wall clock and realized school had dismissed by then. She grabbed her phone and dialed Freya’s number, a smile spread on her face as Freya’s face came up on the screen.
“Hey, Tiff.”
“Freya. How are you?”
“I’m not fine. I and Timothy Missed you. When are you resuming school?”
“Next week.”
“You are lucky we are done with tests.”
“How is Timothy?” She asked reluctantly. She was still finding it hard to forgive him whenever she remembered what he did.
“He is worried about you, Tiff. You should forgive him. He is genuinely remorseful for his action.”
“Umm… I will think about it.” She said, averting the topic.
They chatted and giggled for a few more minutes, catching up on each other’s life. Afterward the call ended and she went downstairs to make dinner as Shawn will soon be home from work.
Soon, she was done cooking and with the table set and everything ready, she walked to the sitting room eagerly awaiting his arrival. As the sound of his car was heard as he drove into the compound, a smile lit up her face.
RACHEL’S POV
She walked into her office, her heart heavy with sorrow. It was difficult to believe that Shawn had severed their friendship. The realization that things had escalated to this extent due to her desperate action was still sinking in.
Every step she took towards her desk felt heavier than the last, reflecting the weight in her chest. Suddenly, she became aware of the tears streaming down her face. She tasted their saltiness on her lips before they trickled down her chin. Unable to hold back the pain any longer, she sank into her chair and began to sob softly.
She cried for minutes, not minding the fact that someone could knock on her door at any time. As the tears began to subside, she reached for the face wipe in her drawer and wiped her cheeks with it. Her face, once streaked with tears, now transformed into a hardened expression. Amidst the pain of losing Shawn, she felt an anger rise within her.
Shawn was willing to throw away their friendship all because of that gold-digging wife of his. She seethed at the thought. If she couldn’t have Shawn, then no one else could, especially not his little witch of a wife. She vowed in that moment, that she would stop at nothing until she had eliminated her from his life.
With a renewed sense of purpose and strength, she wiped away the last remnants of her tears. The pain in her heart was replaced by a rage, driven by her desire for revenge. She knew it wouldn’t be easy, but she was willing to do whatever it took to ensure that Shawn’s little wife would never stand in her way again.
Taking a deep breath, Rachel straightened her shirt and sat up on the chair facing her computer. No more would she stand idly by as someone else took what she believed should rightfully be hers.
She dialed the intercom and her secretary immediately picked up.
“Send in Royce’s report. I want it in my office now. Failure to do that will get you fired!” She ordered.
She was still angry and needed someone to transfer her aggression to, and unfortunately, her poor secretary fell victim.
“But, ma, I started working on the report just yesterday. You said it yourself that you won’t be needing it until the end of the week.”
“Well, I need it now. Now, bring it over to my office this minute!” And she ended the call.
She returned her gaze to the computer in front of her as she typed in the keyword, “Tiffany Dion.”
Results popped out on the screen as she went through them looking for any implicating details. She was angry she couldn’t find any and then resorted to watching pictures. The more she did, the more bittered she became. She couldn’t believe a little teenager was trying to usurp her from Shawn’s life.
The knock on the door interrupted her trains of thoughts.
“Ma, I’m here with the report.” Her secretary’s voice sounded behind it.
“Take it back. I don’t need it anymore. I will let you know when I do.”
“But, ma…”
“I said go away! Are you dumb?” She yelled in anger.
She could hear the clicks of the lady’s shoe as she scampered away. She sighed in frustration. She really needed to vent, to hit something, to scream and scatter her hair and to haul things at the wall. But she knew she couldn’t do all of that because she was at the office.
She finally mustered courage and returned to work. Few hours later, it was lunch break. She walked to her window, reluctant to go out for lunch because she didn’t have an appetite. And that was when she saw him, Shawn. He was heading to his car, presumably he was going to have lunch.
Another bout of pain seared through her heart as the thought of never being close to him again choked her.
She was not going down without a fight. Never! She would fight until her last breath. With that thought in mind, she took hold of her phone and credit card, ready to go for lunch.
