SHAWN’S POV
After he closed from work, he stopped at a supermarket to get fruits for Rachel. He didn’t know much about tending to a sick person, but he knew fruits were good for one’s health.
He purchased the fruits and drove to her house. Arriving at the gate, he honked and the gateman opened it for him to drive in. He alighted from the car and, after replying to the gateman’s greeting, walked inside. He had been to her house a couple of times, so he knew his way around.
“Rachel?” he called as he stepped into the sitting room. When he got no response, he knew she would be upstairs in her room. He ascended the stairs and reached her room door. Rapping his knuckles on it, he heard a faint, “Who is it?”
“Shawn,” he replied.
“Come in…”
He pushed the door open and walked in, and there she was on the bed, looking weak and sick.
“How are you feeling?” he asked as he walked up to her.
“Sick. I feel tired, and I have a slight migraine,” she said in a low tone.
He quietly sat down beside her on the bed, placing the basket of fruits on her bedside table.
“I brought you some fruits,” he said, motioning to the basket. “I heard they’re good for one’s health, especially when one is not feeling well.”
Her eyes lit up immediately, and a smile appeared on her lips. “Thank you, Shawn. That’s really sweet of you.”
He returned the smile. “It’s the least I could do. I hope they help you feel better.”
“Thank you once again. You are still the sweet Shawny I know.”
“So, did your doctor come over to check on you?” he asked, trying to engage her in a conversation to break the silence in the room.
“Oh yes, she did.”
“And what did she say is wrong with you?”
“Nothing has been proven yet. She took my blood sample to run a test. The result will be out tomorrow, but in the meantime, she asked me to rest.”
They talked about random things for a while, and when he looked at his wristwatch, he realized it was time to go home.
“It was nice spending time with you, Rachel. I hope you get better soon and return to work. I will be taking my leave now.”
“But you just got here,” she said, pouting.
“That’s not true. I have spent close to two hours here. It’s late, and Tiffany is all by herself.”
“Yeah, I know, right? Even in our little time together, you still bring her up,” she said, rolling her eyes.
“Well, what can I do? She is my wife and responsibility.”
“I understand. Can I at least offer you a drink?”
“No, that won’t be necessary. You are sick and shouldn’t stress yourself.”
“That’s the wine bar over there. Please don’t say no.”
“Fine. It’s not like you are going to take no for an answer.”
“Hurray!” She stood up and walked over to the bar. She reached for a bottle of non-alcoholic wine and poured a glass for him. As she moved, her robe slipped a little, revealing the underwear she wore inside. He immediately became uncomfortable and averted his gaze.
After contemplating and hesitating, he spoke up. “Rachel, um… your robe, it’s not properly knotted. Perhaps you should tie it up properly.”
She gasped in surprise. “Oh, my goodness, I’m so sorry, Shawn. I didn’t even notice. Thank you for letting me know.”
Quickly, she turned away from him and knotted the robe securely. Afterward, she returned to the bed, a faint blush lingering on her cheeks.
She handed him the glass, and he took a sip, trying to alleviate the awkwardness that momentarily filled the room.
“Do you like the drink?” she asked, finally breaking the silence.
He nodded. “Yes, it tastes really nice. Thank you.”
After sipping the drink for some time, he began to feel funny. It felt like his eyelids were having difficulty staying open. They were beginning to close on their own.
“Ummm… I have to leave now, Rachel. I don’t know, but I don’t feel too good. Thank you for the drink,” he said and dropped the residue of the drink on the table.
He got to his feet but felt his head swooning, and he couldn’t stand firm on his feet. He turned to look at Rachel, and she had a strange look on her face.
“Di… did you put something in my drink?” he asked as he staggered, almost losing balance.
“Does it matter? I want you, and I will have you,” she replied and got up from the bed. She stood in front of him, and gently, she loosened her robe and let it fall to the floor.
He gasped as his eyes widened, and he immediately turned to look away, but she grabbed him and forced him to look at her.
“Don’t you like what you see?” she asked in a sultry tone as she caressed her body.
“Y… you have to stop this. It’s not appropriate,” he said in a drawled tone. He was fighting hard to stay awake.
Suddenly, she pushed him, and he slumped on the bed. She got on top of him, straddling him, attempting to take off his tie.
“Stop it, Ra… chel,” he ordered feebly, trying to push her away, but she held him down.
“You are going to make love to me and deposit your seed inside of me,” she yanked off his tie and threw it at the far end of the room. “I want to carry your child and make you a father. Don’t you like the sound of that? I will give you an heir to the Gold’s dynasty.”
He kept struggling with her as she attempted to take off his jacket. She tried turning him over, but he refused to budge despite how weak he was.
She kept trying, and that was all he remembered as he finally lost consciousness.
********************************************
Hours later, He woke up to find himself sprawled on the bed. He jerked up, trying to remember what happened. He realized he was still in Rachel’s house instead of home with Tiffany. He looked at the wall clock and gasped in surprise at the time. It was midnight!
Looking at himself, noticed his tie was not on his neck, and his jacket buttons were undone. He was still attempting to remember what happened when Rachel stepped into the room with a short towel around her body, and everything immediately rushed back to his memory.
He glared at her with anger and hate as he remembered everything. “How dare you?”
“Oh, you are awake. Thank goodness,” she said, feigning ignorance.
“Fucking drop the pretence, Rachel. How dare you lure me to your house, drug me and try to make me have sex with you? Are you this evil?”
Her eyes immediately fell as she fiddled with her hands. “It’s not what you think, Shawny…”
“Fucking don’t call me that! You had this all planned out. Pretending to be sick so I can come over to your place, and God, you already had the wine drugged before I arrived here. I must give it to you, you are really good at scheming.”
“I’m sorry. I didn’t know what got into me. The sickness came with a lot of bad feelings.”
“You are a liar. You were never sick. The sickness was all a bait to get me over to your place. You disgust me, Rachel. The sight of you is repulsive!” And with that, he hurriedly buttoned up his jacket, rushed to where his tie was lying on the floor and picked it up, and without bothering to put it on, he matched towards the door.
“Shawn, please, it’s midnight. You can’t go home by this time.”
“I will rather be outside in the dark, than be inside here with a snake like you.” With one hateful glance at her, he walked out of the room.
