SHAWN’S POV
“That reminds me, there is a new movie out in the cinema. We should go see it together.” Bryan said to him, as they had a drink in the snooker club.
“What genre is it?”
“Romance and thriller, I guess. I heard it is interesting.”
“Thank you for the information. I will go with Tiffany.”
Bryan burst into a loud laughter that drew the attention of others, he had to stop when Shawn gave him an annoyed look. “I’m sorry about that, but you took me off guard.”
“Took you off guard? What is wrong with taking my wife out on a cinema date?”
“Wow! I love the new you. I noticed recently that you have been comfortably calling her your wife. This is so new.”
“Have I? And what’s wrong with that? She is my wife, right? We are legally married.”
“You know what I’m saying, bro. In the past, just the mere mention of her name got you irritated, but look at you, you can’t keep her off your lips.”
“I don’t know what you are talking about,” Shawn replied and looked away. He knew Bryan was saying the truth and he didn’t want to admit it. Of late, he had noticed how attached he was to Tiffany. He craved her company and always wanted to be around her. The feeling was strange and new but he loved it and wanted to see where it led to.
Speaking of Tiffany, he couldn’t wait to go home and spend more time with her like they have been doing of late. And he would also ask her to follow him to the cinema to see the new movie Bryan was talking about.
“Are you seriously blushing?” Bryan asked, tapping her.
“Blush? Why should I blush?”
“One minute, you are here, and the next you have zoned out and suddenly you are blushing. Guy, you are in love and don’t need a soothsayer to tell you. The almighty Shawn Gold is in love.”
“I’m still clueless about what you are talking about. That reminds me, what team is playing today?”
“I see what you did there, bro. Trying to change the subject matter.” Bryan teased and they both laughed over it.
The evening was a great one and they spent time catching up and laughing at funny jokes. As the evening became old, Shawn notified Bryan of his interest to leave.
“It was nice catching up with you, Bro. So you know, I will be leaving for an art exhibition in Seattle next week. Want me to get anything for you?” Bryan asked as they walked out of the club.
“Yes. Help me get beautiful diamond ladies jewelries for Tiffany. Let me know how much they cost and I will send the money.”
“Noted, Mr. Husband.”
They shook hands and waved themselves goodbye before going their separate ways. Shawn got home and Tiffany was waiting for him.
“Welcome back. Did you enjoy your time with him?” She asked as he joined her on the couch.
“Yes, I did. But I was thinking about you most of the time.”
“Really? I thought about you too. The house was so boring and quiet without you.”
“Then that makes it the two of us. So, I was wondering if you would love to go see a movie with me during the weekend at the cinema.”
“Of course, I would love to. It’s funny how I have been wanting to, since Freya talked about a newly released movie at the cinema.”
“This is a coincidence because Bryan talked about a newly released movie at the cinema too.”
“Then the movie must be really nice. Let’s go and see it.”
“We will. Have you had dinner?”
“Not yet. I made us coleslaw and chicken wings.”
“That was thoughtful of you. I guess the cooking aspect of you never changed even with your memory loss.” He said, his eyes losing a bit of their brightness.
She stayed mute for some time before asking, “Do you prefer when I was still with my memories or now that I have lost them?”
He was taken aback by her question as he searched himself for the right answer.
“Honestly, I kinda missed the old you because you used to be fiesty and rebellious, but the new you is calm and collected. Regardless, I prefer you in whichever form.”
“Thank you,” she mouthed.
“You are welcome. Now, let’s go and have dinner. I’m starving.”
They stood up and walked to the dinning. And intermittently, they had little conversations.
TIFFANY’S POV
It was finally Saturday her cinema date day with Shawn. She was excited and anticipated the experience. She smiled in admiration as she traced her hands on the fabric of the beautiful gown he got her specifically for the date. It was an orange mini dress, with silver pearl stud earrings and matching necklace.
After she got dressed in it, she styled her hair with a silver hair clip in a chignon style. She slipped her legs into her silver wrap up heels and took hold of her silver clutch purse.
As she stepped downstairs, the sight of Shawn waiting for her at the bottom of the staircase took her breath away. He was wearing a black suit that fit him perfectly, highlighting his broad shoulders and strong masculine physique. His Raven dark hair was neatly styled, and his eyes gleamed up as they met hers.
“Wow, you look absolutely stunning,” he murmured, a wide smile spreading across his face. She blushed under his gaze, feeling her face heat up.
“Thank you,” she replied shyly. “You look handsome too.”
He chuckled and offered her his arm. “Shall we?”
They made their way to his car, his strong hand resting on the small of her back, sending shivers down her spine. As they drove to the cinema, they kept stealing glances at each other.
On arrival, he parked the car and they walked hand in hand towards the cinema entrance. Anticipation built up inside her as they approached the ticket counter. He purchased their tickets, and they entered the dimly lit theater.
The movie was captivating, switching between heart-pumping action scenes and tender romantic moments. She found herself clinging to Shawn’s arm during the intense parts, feeling a blend of excitement and fear.
After the movie ended, they walked out of the theater, still caught up in the euphoria of the movie. As they got into the car, ready to head home, he leaned towards her “That was an incredible movie,” he said, looking her straight in the eyes. “But being here with you was the best part.”
She felt her heart fluttering at his words. “I feel the same way. Thank you for taking me out tonight.’
He leaned in the more, his lips brushing against hers in a gentle kiss. Time stood still as she opened up her mouth to him to explore with his tongue while she moaned softly.
After kissing ravenously for minutes, they finally disengaged and she covered her face with her palms.
“Wow, that was a lot,” He said and turned on the car’s ignition. The car purred to life and they drove off. They arrived home and bid each other goodnight before heading to their separate rooms.
The next day was Sunday and she did her laundry and that of Shawn even though he protested. The cleaning agents arrived and cleaned every nook and cranny of the house, leaving it sparkling. They made and ate lunch together, saw movies together, played solitaire together and laughed hard at each other’s jokes.
It was a memorable day for her and she wished the day never ended. Soon, it was night and after having dinner, they bid each other good night and retired to their rooms.
