TIFFANY’S POV
The water sprinkled on her face was what woke her up, and she immediately jerked up in fright as the strange looking man stood, glaring and smirking at her with a bowl of water in his hands.
“Do you think this is your father’s mansion?” He asked, sprinkling more water on her.
“I’m sorry,” She said, frightened.
“You had better be. Are you ready to do as we said?”
Tired and frightened, she nodded.
“Good. Here, take this phone and put your husband’s number in it.”
She hesitated for a moment, unsure of what his abductor’s intentions were. But she quickly realized that she needed to play along if she wanted to survive. She took the phone and entered Shawn’s number, her hands trembling as she typed in the digits.
Once she had finished, she handed the phone back to her abductor, who took it and inspected it carefully.
“If you try anything fishy, sweetheart, I promise you won’t like the consequences,” he warned, his voice dripping with malice.
She nodded, her heart pounding in her chest. She wondered if Shawn would be able to track her location if she made the call, or if he would even pick up at all. But she had to try.
The abductor dialed the number, and she watched anxiously as the phone began to ring. After a few tense moments, Shawn answered and the man handed the phone to her.
“Hello.” She said with a trembling voice.
“Tiffany? Is that you?”
“Yes, Shawn, it’s me,”she replied, her voice shaking.
“Oh my God, where are you? Are you okay?”
“I… I don’t know. I’ve been kidnapped,” she whispered, her voice barely audible.
There was a moment of stunned silence on the other end of the line. Then, Shawn’s voice came on.
“Don’t worry, I’m going to find you. Just hold on, okay?”
Tears welled up in her eyes as she heard his words. They sounded and felt reassuring. “Okay, please hurry.”
“I will, I promise. Just stay strong.” There was a shuffling sound in the background. “Your father wants to speak with you.”
The abductor glared at her, his eyes filled with anger as he snatched the phone from her.
“If you want to see your little wife alive, then you should do as we would say.” He said to Shawn over the phone before ending the call.
“As for you, you had better pray your family does as we say, else, this phone call would be your goodbye message to them.” he growled.
She trembled at his words, as the thought of not leaving that place alive pierced her heart. Her abductor rolled his eyes at her before walking away.
She Drew up her knee to her chin, as she wrapped her arms around her body. Tears trickled down her cheeks in torrents as she imagined the unknown. Suddenly, she felt wet in her private part and as she stuck her into her panties, she realized she was menstruating.
Tears poured down the more as she was at a loss on what to do. Would they give her a sanitary pad? Her body was already itching from not having a bath since the afternoon of the previous day. She cried her eyes out until she fell asleep.
The opening of the door roused her up from sleep and a strange man walked in with a bowl of food. He shoved it to her while glaring at her menacingly.
She murmured a low thank you before devouring the food, ignoring the fact that she had not brushed. After eating, she drank the water the food came With and murmured another thank you.
The man snarled at her before walking away with the plate. He returned a few minutes later, and this time, he had a different look on his face. She moved back until her back hit the wall as he walked towards her with lust in his eyes.
“Relax, I just want to have some good time with you.” He said, and grabbed her.
“Let me be!” she shrieked, fighting him off.
But he persisted, and before she could process what was going on, he tore her blouse and grabbed her breasts. Panic made its way to her heart, as adrenaline surged through her brain.
No, she was not just about to be raped.
Suddenly, the door burst open and her abductor rushed in, looking so frightened. “Let her go. We have been surrounded by the police. C’mon, let’s go.” Her attacker looked at her angrily before rushing out with the other man.
A few minutes later, the police burst into the room with Shawn in their midst.
SHAWN’S POV
“What’s the news so far?” Mr Dion asked, as he joined him at the station.
“They are still trying to track her, all to no avail. Her line is switched off.”
Mr Dion sighed and joined him to pace as they waited for the policemen for any update. Minutes turned into hours, yet no response or feedback and their anxiety reached its peak.
Fortunately, a policeman walked up to them. “I’m sorry, but I will advise you to return home. We are still investigating and have not gotten any lead on her location, but we will let you know once we do.”
“How long will it take? For all we know, my Daughter could be in grave danger.” Mr Dion said, sounding upset.
“We apologize for the delay, but be assured we are walking towards getting her back, and hopefully we will. I will have to take my leave now.” And with that, he walked away.
“This is unbelievable,”Mr Dion muttered.
“Let’s go home, Sir. We will come back first thing tomorrow morning. You look exhausted and it’s getting late.” Shawn said.
Mr Dion nodded and they both walked out of the precinct. They got outside and after trying to reassure each other, they got into their cars and drove off.
Shawn got home and took hold of an alcoholic wine in the wine bar and began to drink directly from it. He has never been scared about anyone like this. The thought of losing her made him feel sick, especially now that he was getting used to her.
He took gulps after gulps until he was tired, and then he walked upstairs. He slumped on the bed and was expecting sleep to take hold of him so he could sleep and not think about anything, but it was not forthcoming as he kept tossing on the bed. His mind was bothered and plaqued with thoughts of the unknown.
It kept on, until he managed to fall asleep at the wee hours of the morning. The ringing of his phone woke him up from sleep, and when he checked the caller’s ID, he saw it was Mr Dion.
“Hey, Shawn. Come over to the precinct immediately. There is news about her whereabouts.” He jerked up when he heard Mr Dion’s words.
“I will be there in a jiffy.” He replied and hurried into the bathroom. After freshening up, he wore something comfortable before picking up his car keys and hurrying out. He arrived at the precinct and rushed inside to meet Mr Dion standing with a few police officers.
“Thank goodness you are here,” Mr Dion said and then turned to an officer. “He is here now. Can he see the CCTV footage?”
“Sure. Come with me.” The officer said and led them to a room that was filled with computers and other electronic gadgets. Another officer behind a computer played a footage and Shawn watched as a strange man walked up to Tiffany in the supermarket and tried to talk to her but she ignored him, they got to the point where the man raised his shirt, and the policeman paused it and then zoomed in so they could all see the gun in the man’s waistband.
“Shit!” He cussed, as anger pulsated through him. The bastard had threatened her with a gun.
The video continued and they watched how the strange man led her to his car through the backdoor exit and forced her into his car, and then the car zoomed off. The policeman paused again, and zoomed in so they could see the car’s plate number.
“Our expert is working on tracking who owns the plate number. Hopefully, it will lead us to the culprit.” The policeman behind the keyboard said.
Shawn was about to say something when his phone rang, checking the caller’s ID, he saw it was an unknown contact so he ignored it. The call came in again, and he answered it.
“Hello.” her trembling voice sounded.
