TIFFANY’S POV
She walked into the school compound and everyone froze like they saw a ghost. She didn’t know why, maybe she looked different from who they used to know.
Just then, the boy and girl that visited her in the hospital and Introduced themselves to her as her best friends rushed to her and engulfed her in a hug.
“Oh thank goodness, Tiff. I’m glad you are finally in school.” The girl said, holding on to her tightly.
The boy was a bit withdrawn, like he didn’t want to upset her.
“It’s good to have you back, Tiff. We were all worried because Test is starting soon.” He said not looking at her face.
“Thank you all for your concern and care.” And then she bowed her head in silence. “I wish I could remember you both. You seem like good people.”
“Oh, it’s fine. We are here to support you until you regain your memories. And in case you have forgotten our names, my name is Freya Meyer.” And then she turned to Timothy. “He is Timothy McVeigh. We are the trio of this school and everyone envies and admires our friendship. We have been friends since junior high school.” Freya explained.
Tiffany nodded, grateful for the explanation.
“C’mon, let’s head to class.” Freya said and pulled at her hands. “We are both in the science discipline, while Timothy is in the art discipline.”
She nodded again, at a loss on what to say. They got to class and Timothy bid them goodbye before walking to his.
“It’s good to have you back, Miss Dion. So sorry about your accident.” Mrs Patrick, the teacher in class said, as they walked inside.
“Thank you,” she murmured as Frey led her to their seat.
The next few hours were centered around teachings, teachings and more teachings.
“Your memory loss did nothing to your love for statistics. You still got the highest score today in our classwork.” Freya said as they walked to the cafeteria during recess.
“I used to love it?”
“Yes. You have loved it since junior high school. I’m glad you are still brilliant like your old self.”
“Thank you.”
They got to the cafeteria and placed their orders. They were eating when Timothy arrived with his tray.
“Can I join you guys?”
Tiffany turned to look at him in surprise. “Sure? You don’t need to ask. We are friends, right?”
Timothy exchanged looks with Freya before taking a seat.
“You said you are my best friend, then why ask if you can join us? From what you both said, we are best friends. Aren’t best friends supposed to always be together?” Tiffany asked as he sat down.
“I…ummm…I ummm..” Freya immediately cut him short.
“He was just being courteous. You know, he didn’t want to ruin our ladies’ time.”
“Oh…that’s fine.”
“So, how will you go home today? You obviously did not bring your car.” Freya asked.
“My car? I have a car?”
“Yes, you do. You own a Honda Civic and Ford Focus, and when you got engaged to Shawn Gold, he gifted you a Ferrari sports car.” Freya replied.
“I’m sorry, I don’t remember that.”
“Oh, it’s fine. I understand.”
“About your question, Shawn is coming to pick me up.” And then she turned to Timothy. “You have barely said anything since you got here. Are you okay?”
“Of course, I’m fine. Thank you for your concern, though.”
She nodded and continued with her meal.
Soon, recess was over and they returned to class. They had two more lessons, and school was dismissed for the day.
She walked to the parking lot with her friends, and there Shawn was already waiting for her.
“Bye,” She waved to her friends before going to meet him.
“Good day,” She greeted as he opened the car door for her.
“Good day too. I hope you had a great day in school today.” he asked as he turned on the car ignition.
She nodded and looked out the car window as they drove home.
RACHEL’S POV
She stood at the window as she watched him return to work after going to pick the little girl from school.
For Christ sake, she lost her memories and not her entire brains! Why did he have to drop her off at school and pick her afterward? She was no toddler.
She angrily walked away from the window and sat on her seat. With every attempt she made, she only brought them closer. That was never her plan. Her plan was to tear them apart, but fate or whatever, had a way of still bringing them closer to each other.
She has had enough, and would damn the consequences and take a drastic action as long as it would help her get Shawn Gold.
After closing from work, she Hurriedly left. She had a place to stop by, and hopefully she would get the solution she seeked.
She drove to a remote neighborhood at the outskirts of the City. After parking her car at a safe distance, she alighted and walked the remaining distance.
She got to a place that looked like a caravan and a lot of irresponsible looking men gathered in groups gambling and smoking. She covered her nose as the stench of a mix of urine and smoke hit her nose.
One of the men turned and saw her approaching and immediately alerted the others.
“Who the hell are ya?” One with an ugly looking scar, presumably gotten from a poorly stitched wound asked.
“My name is Elsa. Can I see your boss?”
“You have to pay a passcode before we let you in.” Another with tobbaco stained teeth said
“Passcode? What’s that?”
“All these rich people. Ya all Know nothing except big cars and houses. Passcode is money to gain access to the boss.” Mr scar explained.
Mr scar? Yes, that was what she had decided to call him. Courtesy of the hideous scar on his face.
“Oh, that’s fine.” She dug her hand into her handbag and fished out some dollar notes. Mr scar immediately snatched them from her and then ordered Mr Tobacco to lead her to the Boss.
She was led to the back of the caravan where there was a long and dim corridor that led to a spacious hall. At the extreme, on a large chair, sat a pudgy looking man with bushy beards and mustache and eyes that were so little, they seemed undersized for his eye sockets.
“Boss, a lady is here to see you.”
“Bring her closer,” He replied in a hoarse voice.
She cringed at the sound of his voice. It could pass for that of a frog.
As they got closer, the Boss dismissed the sparingly dressed Ladies that flanked him on both sides.
“Who are you, and what do you want?”
“My name is Elsa, and I need your help with something…” She went ahead to explain her reason for being there.
He raised an eyebrow after she was done talking. “So, you want my boys to do something unspeakable to this girl?”
“Yes, that’s correct. I want her to suffer. I want her life to be completely ruined.”
He leaned back in his chair, looking intrigued. “And why, may I ask, do you want this girl to be subjected to such a horrific experience?”
“Let’s just say she’s been a thorn in my side for far too long. She’s gotten in the way of my plans, and I want her out of the picture permanently.”
He stroked his beard, as he looked at her intensely. “Interesting. And what’s in it for me and my boys if we agree to carry out this mission?”
She returned his gaze, hers unwavering. “Money, of course. I’m willing to pay a handsome sum for the job to be done effectively and discreetly.”
He chuckled as he picked at his nose, an act Rachel found disgusting. “Money is always a persuasive factor, isn’t it? But I’m afraid one question still remains. Why come to us? Why not take care of it yourself?”
“I have a reputation to uphold. And besides, your organization specializes in discreet operations, right?”
He gave a short, annoying laugh. “You’re correct. Very well, Miss Elsa, consider it done. My boys will take care of this girl for you.”
She nodded in Satisfaction, after which they settled for a price and she paid half of it with the remaining half to be paid after the job had been done.
Done with her reason for being there, she walked out without a second glance.
