SHAWN’S POV
He stood in front of the full-length mirror, adjusting his black-tailored tuxedo. Today was the day He had worked so hard for, the day He would be inaugurated as the youngest Chairman in the city’s history. He couldn’t help but feel a blend of nervousness and excitement as he straightened his tie and checked his reflection one last time.
Exhaling sharply, He left the room and made His way downstairs to where his parents and Tiffany’s father were gathered in the sitting room. His mother stood at the bottom of the staircase, her eyes shining with pride. She reached out and smoothed a stray hair off his face “Son, I couldn’t be prouder of you,” she whispered, her voice filled with emotion.
He smiled at her in appreciation. “Thank you, Mom. I wouldn’t be here without you.”
“Son, you look so handsome!” His father exclaimed, standing up to hug him.
“You look good, Shawn. Are you ready?” Mr Dion asked, smiling at Him.
“More than ready,” He replied.
“You are going to do amazing things as Chairman, Shawn.” His mother said.
As they stepped outside, He was met with the sight of a line up of black convoys of vehicles, each shining under the sun. He paused to stare at his father in surprise, and he gave him a knowing smile in return.
He climbed into the first car, taking a seat beside his driver, Mark. “Feeling ready to make history, Mr. Chairman?” Mark asked.
He chuckled, adjusting his suit. “Let’s do this.”
The convoy moved through the city streets, with police escorts clearing the way and ensuring safety.
Finally, They arrived at the venue, Vancouver’s conference hall. The exterior was decorated with banners and flowers.
As He stepped out of the car, the cheers of the crowd welcomed him. By God, He was not expecting that amount of people to be gathered there in honor of him.
He waved happily at them as he walked into the hall, flanked by armed men on every side. He got inside, and was directed to the table where he sat with other dignitaries.
As He took his seat at the table, he couldn’t help but feel overwhelmed and grateful for the energy and support people in the hall were exuding.
The hall was filled with politicians, business tycoons, and influential figures, all gathered to witness his inauguration. The stage was adorned with a large banner that read “Inauguration of Chairman, Shawn Dion” in bold gold letters, and a podium stood at the center.
The ceremony began with a rendition of the national anthem, led by a renowned vocalist. The crowd stood up in reverence, placing their hands over their hearts, and joined in singing.
It was a surreal moment for Shawn, realizing that he was now the figure they were all looking up to.
After the national anthem, the current Chairman, his father, stepped on stage, delivering a speech about Shawn’s accomplishments and the potential he saw in him.
The crowd erupted into applause, and He felt a flow of gratitude and indebtedness toward the man who had mentored him throughout his careerHis Father.
When it was finally time for Him to take the stage, he stood up with confidence and made his way towards the podium. The audience grew silent, eagerly awaiting his acceptance speech.
“Thank you all for being here today,” He began. “I stand before you as the youngest Chairman this city has ever had, and I am honored and humbled by this responsibility.”
He continued his speech with how he would be committed to the needs and wants of the people. And other things he would make possible as a result of him being chairman.
As he neared the end of his speech, His voice took on a sober tone. “I dedicate this feat to my vivacious father, Mr. Ryan Gold. Thank you for always pushing me to be the best version of myself.”
The crowd erupted into cheers and applause, their happiness vivid. Cameras flashed, capturing the moment, and He couldn’t help but feel proud and fulfilled.
After his speech, He was presented with a symbolic key to the city by the current Chairman, His father. It was a tradition that signified the transfer of power and authority.
With the formalities concluded, the event came to an end and it was time to head home and prepare for the dinner after party.
TIFFANY’S POV
She got home from school, and immediately turned on the television to watch Shawn’s inauguration. In as much as they were not on good terms, she was genuinely happy and proud of him.
From his speech, she could tell her much he had dreamed of that day and timewhen he would become Vancouver’s youngest Chairman.
Involuntarily, she found herself smiling when he dedicated his inauguration to his father.
Sighing in exhaustion, she turned off the television and went upstairs to her room. She got inside and found a bag on her bed.
On getting closer, she realized it contained a lovely off shoulder beige dress with slit and puffy sleeves.
There was a pair of rose gold heels, purse and jewelries to match. It was accompanied with a short note that read, “Get dressed in those. Look your best and try not to mess things up because it’s my inauguration day today. A driver will be sent to pick and bring you to the party venue.”
Without a soothsayer, she knew it was from Shawn. The note dripped of his arrogance.
She took a deep breath and walked into the bathroom to freshen up. Afterward, she came back to the room to dress up.
Carefully, she slipped on the dress, feeling the soft fabric accentuate her curves perfectly. The slit on the side added a touch of sensuality, while the puffy sleeves added a gleam of elegance.
After putting on the matching rose gold heels, purse, and jewelry, She glanced at herself in the mirror. She had to admit, she looked stunning. Not wanting to keep the driver waiting, she made her way downstairs.
A few minutes later, the driver arrived to pick her up. She gracefully entered the car, and Dion they were on their way to the party.
They arrived after a few minutes’ drive, and she walked into the Beautifully adorned hall.
Taking a deep breath to steady herself, she stepped fully into the glitz and glamour of the event. She could feel the curious gazes of others as she walked into the crowded room, wondering where Shawn and others were.
Suddenly, she spotted them. She briskly made her way to where they stood exchanging pleasantries.
“Oh, my! You look so stunning, darling.” Mrs Gold said, hugging her.”
“You look like a Celestial being, my princess.” Her father complimented, pecking her cheeks.
“You look good, my dear. You are indeed a befitting wife to him.” Mr Gold said.
“Listen up, everyone. I have an Introduction to make.” Shawn’s voice suddenly said from behind her, and she swiftly turned to see him with a microphone.
“You know, like they said, behind every successful man is a woman, and I can’t help but agree more about that. You all, meet my beautiful wife, Tiffany Dion.”
